just think about how amazing the ideas of people are take falco how he lasers them into place whwere he shines them into his next move and hits them down the floor where he is waiting to keep the combo going it's really beautiful the idea of how everyone is played. How far we've all come, and the great times. Think about how amazing it was to just unlock ______ and how the makers put soooo much love into the game, every inch is full of it from the menu to falcon's taunt.

just step back and look at all of it from every nagle it's beautiful, the combos, tactics, love, edge gaurd, mindgames and everything. Yes sheik is in there but still really amazing.

also falco/young link on fourside fighting on the area with wall jumps, what you do is you gravb bombs and hit each other or nair or hookshot them or you laser/dair/shine them as falco. sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun if you can wall jump right.

For being a walking Nintendo product billboard... yes, Sakurai and team definitely put everything they got into making this THE Smash game. Sometimes I find it hard to believe he's the same guy who made the sequel... but he really didn't want to work on another to begin with, and it really shows in that one.
(And Smash 64 was something of a test dummy, but for being for ****s and giggles, it's real' good fun as well.)

Melee's extremely deep; it continues to find new ways to surprise me, even to this day. Maybe not every day, but it certainly has its moments when it's up for it. :D

MVC2!!! And yes. I love the smash series. Even Brawl. Yes, I love Brawl. Because it has ZSS. And because it has other cool stuff that Melee doesn't have. Melee's still better as an overall game though. **** Brawl in that. Brawl+ ftw.

Sakurai isn't the one to blame for Brawl. Notice how the first two games were worked on by HAL laboratory themselves and they both have fast high levels of play. Notice how HAL didn't work on Brawl at all, they just got the patent slapped on the box, and when a different team works on the team, we get Barwl. People's argument are that "OOOHHH Sakurai wanted to remove the techniques." No he didn't you idiot lol, these people who are not HAL laboratory (the ones responsible for implicating the advanced techniques in the first two games) just couldn't replicate Melees physics, its that simple.

every post charlesz makes is pretty much the highlight of the thread.

don't blame HAL they made 2 amzaing games before, whatever if Sakurai or whoever didn't hire them? you can't blame thm for that. no maatter how you look at it there is still a lot to be blamed on Sakurai, when you make a new game it's meant to be better than the last, don't take out things people love and add a little bit more magic and they s*** all over that idea

Hal isnt to blame. They were working on another project at the time and couldn't make any obligations to work on super smash bros brawl. It's Nintendo's fault for starting without them.

The guys who worked on Brawl went on to create TMNT: Smash-Up. I think it actually makes Sakurai look good that Game Arts made a somewhat decent game with him, but a horrible one without him :p

I lol'd.

Seriously? Oh man I didn't know that. Well then I love Sakurai again then <3.

Screw you "HAL", why didn't you work on Brawl?
Pretty sure Sakrai was the one who wanted to make brawl with a whole new team of people for fresh ideas/mechanics... Not sure though, it's been a while since I've remotely cared about brawl.

He wasn't actually a part of HAL anymore at the time Nintendo asked him to make a new Smash Bros., nor was he employed by Nintendo. Brawl is technically a third party game.

Sakurai has personally stated his dislike for the competitive scene and how he made brawl different than melee or ssb64 for that reason.

It still is largely his fault.

rofl.. yeah that is going to be one ugly *** game for sure.

melee definately has crazy depth.. its a shame what had to happen to the franchise.. HAL has to come back and start making smash games again...
