I got a question to you people who have Isaac on their profile pic. If he is revealed, how many of us do you think are going to change immediatelly to the official renders? XD

Mine will be relatively the same, but with the Ultimate renders of Link, Isaac and Sonic. Unless I can take a pic of more than 4 trophies...

I will say, the only time in this Smash cycle where I've jumped up and down screaming like a maniac was when I saw Path of Radiance Ike, who's Ult render is my current phone background. Safe to say, I'm clearly going to lose my voice when Isaac's revealed so he will have earned the right to become my new phone background.

Hype responsibly, please! I stubbed my toe on a coffee table out of excitement when Lucina (then-tied for my favorite Awakening character) got her splash screen- I hadn't seen her coming. Robin had been my most wanted, but I resigned myself to Lucina and Chrom gladly... until seconds later Robin was revealed and I couldn't lose it any more because I was already back on the couch, nursing my toe after being an idiot.

Obviously pretty late to the party here but Golden Sun is one of my favorite games of all time; I'm literally gonna cry when I see the reveal trailer.

Since we all know he's definitely gonna be in, what're your best guesses for his moveset?

I'm hoping he'll be a sword/mage hybrid instead of more focused on Psynergy, since I like the style of swordsmen. Thinking Ragnarok and Move are probably a guaranteed, but what else would be included?

I'd guess that at least his aerials will be swordplay, while his grounded attacks make room for a mixture of light swordplay (tilts, jab combo) and powerful Psynergy moves, kinda like how Corrin uses his sword in a few attacks but favors his Dragon Fang in most of his strong ones (whereas Isaac could use maybe a pillar of earth as a smash attack or something).

I'm personally hoping for Djinn swapping changing his specials, since there's some reason why Flint was in the artwork. Otherwise, maybe he's in his Final Smash?

Haven't played GS for a long time, so I have tad hard time choosing my wish for an OST at the moment. And that's before I even reached Lost Age. I feel like I'm missing songs big-time there...

I'm hoping mostly psynergy, personally. Use his sword for his dash attack and his jab combo, maybe ftilt too.

Dair is rock fall
Up air is blast
Maybe he can use his sword for Nair as well

Up special depends on whether he's on the ground or not. On the ground it'll be earthquake and knock people to the side of him and himself up into the air.

In the air it's spire and works a little like ori's recovery from rivals of aether.

Something along those lines.

You know, I was think that maybe Nintendo is planning to revive Golden Sun as Golden Sun across the world. That new trademark is for Golden Sun in English, but it's a Japanese trademark, so maybe the planned revival is going to be branded as Golden Sun worldwide for consistency.

I know i've been exceedingly negative when i last visited and tried to make sense of all of it, but i've lurked so much these last few days and...
Team Real it is. 95%.

Even IF the Grinch leak were incomplete or somewhat outdated/whatever, our Golden Boy is looking at a lovely future.

So, assuming the leak's true, which 5 tracks would you want to accompany him?
For me, it's gotta be:
1. Venus Lighthouse (duh)
2. Isaac's Battle theme (staple)
3. The First Book (maybe remixed; a triumphant march, then an emotional motif, very befitting of Smash)
4. Battle: Saturos (has the needed panache and epicness, though i'd love a remix, not too big a fan of the middle part)
5. Kalay (The slower, more emotional track)
Limiting myself to the first game as i haven't played the others, and it's STILL disgustingly hard to limit it to 5.

And who do you think would be a nice fit to do the voicework? I'm thinking maybe Robbie Daymond or Max Mittelmann.

If I were designing him I'd have:

Aerials and tilts: sword attacks
Smashes: Venus Djinn
Specials: Venus psynergy
Grab/Throws: Catch/Move/Lift/Pound/Scoop/Grind
Final Smash: Judgement

Maybe a mechanic where his specials are max strength but slow spells (i.e. Grand Gaia, Wild Growth, Stone Spire and Odyssey) until Djinn (smash attacks) are used, then his specials become weaker but faster spells (i.e. Gaia, Growth, Spire and Ragnarok). Djinn would become Set after a short period of time.

1 - Isaac's Battle Theme - The most iconic track, I'd love to hear it in Smash finally.
2 - Saturos's Battle Theme - Either a new remix or just bring back the Dark Dawn variation that added those bloody bells
3 - Venus Lighthouse - My favourite Elemental Lighthouse theme, it's a classic, though perhaps a medley of different elemental lighthouse themes might be better.
4 - Elemental Stars - It's such a calm and peaceful track, and we know Smash has some calmer tracks, I'd love to hear a more serene track like this in game.
5 - World Map medley - A medley of the different World Map themes that we've had in each game, since I can't pick just one.

It will be very tempting. Isaac used to be my pro pic, and still is on many websites. On here, I ended up changing it to Baz, because I mean, who the hell else is gonna have a Baz avatar?

I would probably be using his render on many other places though. Possibly even as my phone background

Yo that reminds me! If Isaac’s in, there’s a really good chance that they’ll add him as a Switch Account icon! After all they did add every single ARMS character. I can only imagine how many of us wouldn’t have Isaac as our Switch icon if that happens lol.

I expect a slightly slower character movement wise. With moves with good reach and over average damage. However missing with a Smash will leave him exposed if it does not connect, a bit like Captain Falcon perhaps?
More focused on controlling his section of the stage than chasing the opponent. I believe he will be above average overall in the top 30 characters if I were to guess.

Oh man there are so many tracks I’d want. Where do I begin.

In no particular order:
1. Venus Lighthouse - As you said, duh.
2. Isaac Battle Theme - How could you not? I also would like it to be a sort of big brass band arrangement, similar to K. Rool’s theme.
3. Saturos Battle Theme - Such a good tune. We all know this.
4. Jenna’s Battle Theme - I really dig this one. I honestly think it would be perfect for Smash. It’s fast paced, it’s simple, it has hella energy. I absolutely adore it. I also feel that it’s highly underrated by Golden Sun fans, considering how little it’s used. I don’t know how likely it is that it will get in, especially as a remix, but man...I would love to hear it.
5. Vale - Also a weirder one. Not exactly what you’d think of for a fighting game. But I just love this song too much. It’s one of the most nostalgic video game tracks, or even just songs in general for me. So beautiful. I would love it if they could somehow remix it into a battle theme. But if they do remix it, they better still have the pan flute in there somewhere...I love the pan flute.

There are just so many songs that I would want. All the overworld themes, Air’s Rock, the Karagol Sea, COLOSSO!? Bruh, I hope they have a field day like they did with Castlevania because damn.

It's called "黃金の太陽", or "Ogon no Taiyo" which does mean "Golden Sun". I think they're suggesting that Nintendo would change the series' Japanese name to the actual English words, like Dragon Quest and Mother.

OH man I would love to see legit active/standby djinn mechanics, maybe even with the summons built in somehow for his specials. That'd be awesome.

This is probably another unusual choice but you know what music track from Golden Sun is very memorable to me? I can't find the name of it on Youtube but you know when you play the fountain mini game in Tolbi?

The music from that mini game brings back some memories. I think I'd like to see a remix of it.

I'd like to thank my English Literature teacher for making me read full paragraphs every lesson and my theatre studies teacher for telling me that no matter what you read, always try and get into the role

This is more interesting since it comes from th actual company he works for as opposed to a statement from the prior company. THIS is the sort of thing that actually lends some credibility to the leak because deleting the video is an asinine decision all around.

This narrows us down to three options:

1. The leak is real and they’re working on material for Ultimate, so they deleted the video to avoid additional linking. Dumb in that it adds credibility to the leak. They also can’t put out a statement as they’re under NDA

2. Eric or whoever used their studio and they don’t want any connection. I understand the whole “but the effort” argument, but it’s possible and sometimes working with materials allows for a couple of them to get through and he managed to pull this off. They intend to separate themselves from this material as much as possible and not risk future issues. Deleting the video then looks questionable and still brings validity to the leak.

3. They have no connection with the leak whatsoever, and they remove their video so as to avoid being connecte as they’ve been implied throughout Brinard’s LinkedIn. People end up thinking that.

Both realities two and three should allow them to put out there own statement, but if the leak is false and they simply decided to try to force themselves out of the conversation, then that’s a ****ty way to deal with the situation.

All three scenarios end up in deleting the video and doing the opposite of any intention. This indeed gives “validity” to the leak despite the intentions and the Internet is going to run with it. Does it confirm the link? Of course not, but it’s another complication in this saga. And the main thing is, regardless of outcome, deleting the video was a horrible idea all around and a big deal for the leak situation.
