Just took a look back at the stuff from when the Direct happened - remember the interview where Sakurai said character announcements would be slowing down? Well...

He also said that because of the earthquake, "we could no longer use the original draft we had prepared" for the Direct.

Some people were speculating that Isaac was supposed to happen alongside, or instead of Isabelle, right? With Isaac using earth powers, it makes sense to think that if they could no longer use the original script, it's because they'd edited him out following the delay, especially when taken alongside this new info.

(I mean no disrespect at all to the victims of the earthquake! Just thought this was something worth pointing out.)

I think, Grinch or no Grinch, the theory that Isaac was intended for the September Direct is looking very likely right now.

Edit: But as N3ON says, the fact that this spot in particular has the change gives even more credence to the Grinch leak.

It's unpleasant but I think this is a possibility that can't really be ignored. The context is just too glaring.

I'm not saying this to get Isaac because honestly I was already feeling quite confident in this leak even before this latest development. I just don't think it's helpful to anyone not to consider it.

I said it before somewhere else but it could also be an explanation for why we have so many characters left to reveal with only a month to go.

That's my take on it right now anyway.

The image wasn't a "Bad crop" it was the site not updating properly. The place where olimar and mac were cut was the seam on the looping mural on the website. The looping mural is 6 seperate images. They hadn't all updated to the new version yet. I even recreated it here. On the left is the 8/8 version of piece 2. On the right is the Isabelle version of piece 3. Piece 2 hadn't updated when that anon took that screenshot. That's it.

As someone who has been extremely skeptical of Isaac for the longest time for Smash 4 and Ultimate, I think he is in.

The recent event of the Mewtwo costume footage and the costume leaker's sayings of "No new character files in the demo yet. But i seen "reflet" and "robin" separated, so it could be Isaac." has me convinced he is actually playable.

It is surreal for me as a speculator to actually witness a character from a modern Nintendo franchise on in-definite hiatus actually get in Ultimate.

So, I'm new, and have never been involved in Smash discussions before. But I was curious, the banner is multiple images stitched together. I get that. That being said, shouldn't the error be all the way up the page, or transition to a mismatch horizontally if that were the case? Ike for one came out way too nicely for such an error, same with Dark Pit and Bowser's fire.

Ok, bear with me guys because I think the "site glitch" or one of the images not being updated is completely irrelevant to this...

The image where Little Mac sits fits PERFECTLY with the leak. Isaac's art ends EXACTLY at the cutoff point, meaning that image is meant to be updated at some point to fit exactly with the Little Mac side. This means the artists creating the banner know about it being separated into multiple images in the website, and they took the cutoff points into account when creating each new version.

There's no freaking way that this is a coincidence.

I don’t think Isaac has ever received as much attention as he has in the last week. Certainly not in the past eight years.

However this ends up, this leak has done a lot for him, and for that I’m happy. :D

Exactly my thoughts too. I don't even care if the leak isn't real anymore thanks to all the people who are now convinced of Isaac's inclusion and are even giving Golden Sun a playthrough.

It can be an error of the site of course but I highly doubt it.

After the whole earthquake and restructering everything -situation, the "error" happened to be between Lucario and Little Mac where the grinch leak says Isaac shall end up? It could have been every other of the pictures with that kind of error, yet it was specifically next to Little Mac. I personally don't buy it to be just an "error" given all the facts we currently have and had back in that time.

It absolutely could mean nothing but it could also mean everything. So to me that was the final piece of evidence I personally needed to be 100% convinced.

Okay this might be a stretch but this explains another thing that was weirdly missing from the September Direct. I had assumed after the August Smash Direct every fighter would be shown being placed on the banner after being revealed. Weirdly enough, they never did that for Isabelle during the Direct. They then posted a separate clip a week later via Nintendo News Channel on the Switch in one of the Smash Weekly Updates showing only Isabelle getting added. Maybe Isaac was actually planned to be revealed in September along side Isabelle but was removed and therefore they couldn't show the characters getting added to the banner because they needed some time to modify Isaac out.

This is probably another unusual choice but you know what music track from Golden Sun is very memorable to me? I can't find the name of it on Youtube but you know when you play the fountain mini game in Tolbi?

The music from that mini game brings back some memories. I think I'd like to see a remix of it.

Do we even know the mural always consisted of multiple parts? Couldn't it just have been a consequence of when it had to be corrected for the September direct? Don't the mural parts fully extend to the top?
If it would simply be a site bug at the cropping point, why are Bowser and Dark Pit perfectly intact?
The ONLY area seemingly affected and messed up is everything touching Isaac's spot.
It surely could be due to something else, but the lengths you would have to go to to chalk ALL of these hints up to 'coincidence'...
What are the chances, honestly? Yes, most of everything can have multiple reasons, but at some point, it gets as close to conclusive as can get.

If you found your brother with cake crumbs on his face and it's scent in the air, after he exclaimed he's hungry, your whole family told you there was cake today and you saw a cake in the freezer that was now gone, would you just say 'eh, the dog could have gotten that on him when he licked his face?'

My issue with that possible explanation is why are Little Mac and Olimar the only ones cropped out? Of course I have no clue what the 6 images look like separately but it seems a bit strange that only those two were effected.

Yeah I don't think you can say a pattern is there. At the end of the E3 presentation Ridley and Daisy were not shown to be added like they did at the end of the August direct.
