A second Link has been redundant since we originally got one, and this wouldn't even be the first time TL got in over Isaac, but it is what it is; child Link, while imo unnecessary for Smash, still does play a large role in his series.

I should reiterate that I don't mind TL as a character for his series. If they were to give him his own move set and moves I would be glad to have him on board. Instead, its just a wasted slot that could have been used for other characters to have been tested/balanced for the game. I'd like to think that he has his own potential, like Paper Mario, but until Sakurai does so he'll only be a tumor to the characters to me.

Isaac is something fresh and new in contrast. Sure he may be wielding a sword like many others but at least he stands out for his moves and not he looks.

I dont really think you an have this both ways. Is he a toon or is he young? That is a very different argument. Yet, there are literally at least five different GENRES and franchises within Mario, not counting his character spinoffs, and we dont have other versions of him.

At least Zero Suit Samus and Sheik get their own moveset. But now that transforming is out, I don't think either of them really need to be on the roster anymore.

Toon Link is the biggest offender because he doesn't even have any unique moves. He's just another incarnation of Link. The Zelda franchise deserves better representation than Link, Link, Zelda, Zelda, and Ganondorf anyway. I'm a bit worried that the franchise representation won't be as broad as I'd like when development effort is being spent on characters like Toon Link.

I honestly believe part of the reason Toon Link returned was to advertise Wind Waker HD. That being said, I do not dislike Toon Link, though I do agree he should be more differentiated from Link. I forget the name of the move, but I would love to see Toon Link do that one spin attack where he moves around. They could have him use some of his toys from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

Anyhow, if we did get a Zelda newcomer, I would definitely want it to be Vaati. Though his personality is not overly complex, I must say I rather like his design. Plus, it would be great to see a character whom uses dark magick. He could have long-range moves like Zelda, only they would be darker.

That being said, clones are very common in fighting games, so I am never surprised when they are included. The only character in Smash I really, REALLY want to be completely de-cloned is Ganondorf. For goodness sake, he HAS to use his sword this time. If he is still a clone of Captain Falcon, I am going to be disappointed. I also hope none of the newcomers are clones.

You know, I recently began thinking... If we did get a secondary Golden Sun character (probably unlikely), I think Sveta would make an interesting and unique addition, given her fighting style in Dark Dawn. Thus far, we have a fire user (Charizard), and a water user (Greninja). Isaac could be the first character whom makes significant use of earth magick, whilst Sveta could be the first to make significant use of wind magick. Her fighting style could generally be a mixture of speedy hand-to-hand combat and long-range wind magick. Plus, she would be a good way to advertise Dark Dawn. The reason I could see her having a chance is not only because of her uniqueness, but also due to the important roles she played in Dark Dawn. I might write a moveset for her and post it here if I have the time.

I've actually wanted Sveta, alongside Matthew, for a while; I think they could make a really interesting moveset for her.
But as you mentioned, it's really unlikely that we'll get a second GS rep; even one is not guaranteed.
Shadow Canon or Beast Form as a Final Smash.

I have the same feeling about Fox, Falco and Wolf. While they're all different characters in the series, their moveset feel so lazy and I'd rather have other characters than Falco/Wolf, or severely rehaul of both of them.

Oh, and Sveta would be pretty freaking awesome. The style of Golden Sun characters would fit so good in the Smash universe; colorful and flashy.

I've always hated clones, Luigi was tolerable because mario and luigi are twin brothers after all, but when you get extremes like captain falcon and ganondorf, where they are from two completely different franchises and have the same movesets, it becomes a frustrating experience.

I am actually very suprised that Nintendo decided to go with wolf instead of mewtwo for brawl, hackers founds that mewtwo was the most complete out of the "forbbiden 7," but I guess it boiled down to pokemon have a ton of reps already if you count pokemon trainers pokemon and individual chars.

You're right, @ Arteen one Link is good enough, especially if they were going to separate Sheik and Zelda as different characters, now Ghirahim is pretty much denied because of this, there is no way Ganon is being replaced, I was hoping they'd put both Ganon and Ghirahim in so we could have two Zelda bad guys to play as and why Sheik, Gerudos are highly superior to the Sheikah and we look more beautiful too, Sheik kind reminds me of Chyna or Beth Phoenix cause she looks rather boyish, in fact is that who's behind that mask, Sheik?

Anyway, yeah Toon Link was kind of a waste.

If you ask me they should of just cut Sheik altogether too.

What where all of you guy's favorite classes in the Golden Sun games?

I especially liked the Brute / Savage class lines for Isaac and Garet. Not only did this make Garet like, 100 x more useful (it seriously buffs his Attack and Agility, and Planet Driver is basically Fire Ragnarok) but it's a great class for Isaac as well. Having two of these great attackers in your team is awesome. Yet, I never cared much for this class for Jenna.

Ivan I liked best as Conjuer, Mars and Jupiter mixed. Thunder Mine is a great attack, and ohh the visuals of that one! It also buffed his Attack greatly, which is great if you got the Tisiphone Edge.

About Toon Link: I really like him. Perhaps it's cause Link himself always sucks, or the fact that I really, REALLY liked Wind Waker and like his design to. But I don't really have a problem with him being so cloney. It makes sense, he's Link. Sure, I'd like some more differences between them (however, TP Link and WW Link have quite some similar techniques already! Overhead Slash / Helm Splitter and Backslash for example) - but I don't see it as 100% needed. Link is Link. And their weight / fall speed / attack speed different aerials already justify their similarities I feel.

I will agree with this, give him something to stand out with. As of right now, he's just a costume alteration in my eyes. Also agree the only reason for his inclusion this time around was to hype Windwaker. As you said, he's a rep for that series but does it particularly warrant a spot in smash if he still remains a clone?

Hmm, that is pretty good. I always wondered what the Venus Lighthouse theme would sound like in Smash 4. I think something like this would fit in nicely.

As for Music, I'd expect to definitely see Isaac's battle theme and if there is a stage then there would be one more which I think would be Saturos's battle theme.

I honestly don't think it's too late, Sakurai knows people have been asking for a Golden Sun character for a while, whether it's Isaac, Felix, Alex, Saturos, Mia, there has been a lot of requests since Melee for a Golden Sun character.

I think Sakurai might pull a FE with this, remember back in Melee, nobody had any idea who Marth and Roy were, FE was only in
Japan, so the only excitement was among the Japanese players, as for Golden Sun, Isaac already had his foot in Brawl just being in it, he has yet to be deconfirmed as Assist Trophy, in which I'm thinking he might troll us a little, watch he'll show the Move hand as the pic of the day to describe the Assist Trophy, but only to reveal it as Felix, then maybe later we see the reveal trailer of Isaac.
