I really hope so.Isaac was also on Japan players char demand list when brawl was coming out.

Hopefully he doesn't become an Assist Trophy, but a character.

Well, he's quickly risen to the head of the pack in terms of ATs who could be promoted. Starfy, Saki, Samurai Goroh, Lyn, Waluigi are all out.Felix is in that list as well^^ Golden Sun was really popular at that time, too bad the timing was so bad
Tingle has the western world to compete with.He also has Tingle to compete with.
Pretty sure that list only signifies characters requested via submission to the site, not ones actually considered by Sakurai.I really hope so.
There's a lot of names on that list, at least it shows Sakurai has considered the possibility of a playable Golden Sun rep.
However, Dillon having such a quality model seems to be the exception. If you look at Waluigi, he doesn't look much better - if any - than he did in Brawl. So if Isaac is an AT again, he might get the same treatment. =(I sure hope Isaac isn't an AT this time around... but looking at Dillon, at least his model would likely look gorgeous nonetheless.
Well, I would say Waluigi doesn't look so hot in this game. lol.Honestly Isaac didn't look that hot in Brawl, so he'd stick out pretty badly if they ported his model straight over.
I wouldn't be surprised if this did well in the states. People seriously underestimate the Mother and Golden Sun fanbase. Especially Golden Sun, but that is easy to overlook.
Agreed.Come on guys, let's have hope.
Isaac for Smash 4 and Dillon for Smash-Not-4.
.
It really depends on unlockables this time, but Isaac is a big enough bomb to be around E3 time.If Isaac was to be revealed as a playable character, when do you think it would happen: pre e3, at e3, post e3, or not announced until the game's release?
I would have to say unlockable character. Assuming Isaac got the upgrade from AT to playable then we can compare him to Little Mac.If Isaac was to be revealed as a playable character, when do you think it would happen: pre e3, at e3, post e3, or not announced until the game's release?
It's great to hear that GS can still have this sort of impact on people. It really is a great game that rarely is been given the attention it deserves. So, I'm playing Golden Sun for the first time on the Wii U virtual console. I wanted to see what all the fuss is about... OH MY GOD I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN.
It has been literally years since I could sit and play a video game for longer than 2 hours without getting bored or wanting to do something else. This game is fantastic! I'm nearing the end and it makes me sad because I can't play the sequel (yet). Hopefully when they do decide to put up The Lost Age up on VC it's not a long time from now.
My one gripe is that the cutscenes get a little wordy sometimes.
They announced all the starters plus the third-parties before release, which was 27 characters iirc.Anyone who remembers how many characters for SSBB they announced before it's release?
I remember that for some reason, Golden Sun music played on Norfair last time.Sort of off-topic: Does anyone remember when Brawl's soundtrack was leaked? I know for a fact all the songs were out on the net before the game's release; I just cannot remember when. I was thinking that if Smash 4's soundtrack gets leaked prior to the 3DS release, perhaps we could check for any Golden Sun tracks. If there is more than one Golden Sun tune, perhaps that could signify a Golden Sun stage, and thus maybe a playable character. The recent leak of Mario Kart 8's soundtrack kind of gave me this idea.
Heh Heh, I will probably get an Ether Bullet shot at me for saying this, but... Speaking of soundtracks, given the made-up rivalry between Isaac and Shulk, wouldn't it be ironic if Isaac was playable and Shulk wasn't, and then the Golden Sun stage had a Xenoblade tune?
Confirmations also usually come swift and without buildup. Previous to their trailers Sakurai didn't do anything at all to indicate Greninja would be playable for instance, and all Little Mac and Rosalina had to go off of were vaguely relivant stages, which especially didn't mean much for Rosalina. Sakurai doesn't really make a habit of hinting at unrevealed characters. It's all just anyone's guess. But if I did believe that Isaac wasn't going to make it in, my biggest argument would be the fact that Sakurai hasn't talked about or teased him. Deconfirmations come deadly, but are always swift and without buildup.
They leaked well before the game came out, but people didn't actually agree which leaks were true until people in Japan actually started posted pictures from subspace when the game was released in Japan or very shortly before. I imagine the situation here will be the same. There will be a legit leak but no one will believe it and we'll be arguing about who's in until release or a few days before when someone makes off with an actual copy. They announced all the starters plus the third-parties before release, which was 27 characters iirc.
They had all leaked before the street date in one form or another though.
Don't really see how this pertains to Isaac...
I'd guess somewhere like Marth, assuming they keep unlockables around. So many of us think Isaac may be an unlockable playable character....
How difficult do you think he'll be to unlock? Would he be one of the first to be unlocked or one of the last? (Or somewhere in between)
I don't imagine he'd be overly difficult to unlock, as there'd probably be enough GS content that it'd be strange if he was hidden away until towards the very end.So many of us think Isaac may be an unlockable playable character....

Ah, sorry if I was a bit unclear, was just thinking of the odds of them announcing a potential Isaac before launch. They announced all the starters plus the third-parties before release, which was 27 characters iirc.

Yes, there will be a trailer for all the newcomers, which is a good point, but tbh I could see them saving a few trailers to be unlocked in-game along with the hidden character, even with Sakurai's anti-CG trailer-leaking agenda.Ah, sorry if I was a bit unclear, was just thinking of the odds of them announcing a potential Isaac before launch.
I think I read somewhere though that they would have cinematic trailers for all newcomers? Not sure though.
Of course. Why spoil the surprise so soon when you can have fun with secret characters?Yes, there will be a trailer for all the newcomers, which is a good point, but tbh I could see them saving a few trailers to be unlocked in-game along with the hidden character, even with Sakurai's anti-CG trailer-leaking agenda.
Actually, he wants these to be spread on the internet because he sees that as beneficial, at least that seems to be the vibe I'm getting:Yes, there will be a trailer for all the newcomers, which is a good point, but tbh I could see them saving a few trailers to be unlocked in-game along with the hidden character, even with Sakurai's anti-CG trailer-leaking agenda.

Sakurai lamented. "You can only truly wow a player the first time he sees [a cutscene]. I felt if players saw the cutscenes outside of the game, they would no longer serve as rewards for playing the game, so I've decided against having them."
Rather than letting a setback ruin things completely, Sakurai has focused on having video sequences that would instead potentially benefit by being spread around. This has led to the new character intro video sequences for the Villager, Mega Man, and the Wii Fit Trainer. Sakurai expressed a desire to make similar videos for all subsequent new characters.
The vibe I'm getting is that Sakurai feels you only get wowed by a cutscene/trailer once, and if they're leaking onto the internet that takes away from experiencing them in-game, where Sakurai intended them to be found last time around. That's why this time he's making them with the intent to be found on the internet instead, which is why him hiding some away to be found in the game would seemingly go against his principles, as it would definitely leak before people following the game could find it.Actually, he wants these to be spread on the internet because he sees that as beneficial, at least that seems to be the vibe I'm getting:
