We had 6 newcomer franchises in Brawl, out of 18 newcomers, and that was because we still had important veteran characters to include.

This time, the pool for veteran franchise newcomers is much shallower, so 8-9 newcomer franchises isn't that much of a stretch.

We already have Little Mac, Villager, WFT, Mega Man now.
We will likely see a retro as well.

So we have 3-4 empty spaces for new franchises. Isaac and Shulk are both very notable candidates, so both getting in is probably not that much of a stretch.

It also seems fair to say that we won't be getting 18 newcomers in SSB4 when the existing roster from Brawl is quite large, so even if existing franchises don't expand by much more, we shouldn't expect all that many newcomer franchises either. Would certainly be nice if the roster continued to focus on newcomer franchises though, I'd appreciate the variety even if Isaac missed the cut.

Regarding the above list: needs Miis and Pac-Man, especially if you're putting weight into the Gematsu leak.

Don't think so. When they showed off Saki's Assist Trophy, the icon next to his name was the generic smash one, which probably means there isn't much S&P content in Smash, tragically.

Getting adult Isaac would be kind of bittersweet. I'd rather have Matthew.

I prefer him to use Ragnorak, where a giant sword just comes flying down. Using the same design of that sword from the ds version.

I would prefer Megiddo myself, although I could envision a few other Final Smashes depending on his moveset. If he utilizes strictly Venus Psynergy, Isaac could use Ragnarok as you mentioned or even Judgment.

But if Isaac incorporated all the various Psynergy in his repretoire, or at least one of each element, it would be entertaining to see him summon Iris and hurtle the enemies towards the sun shown in Final Destination.

Judgment, in mine opinion, would probably be the best and most memorable Final Smash for Isaac. Plus, it is a very iconic summon.

Also, I have probably said this several times before, but I would love to see an alternate costume with young Isaac wearing adult Isaac's clothes. That, in mine opinion, would be even cooler than a Matthew alternate costume.

Well, @ Arteen aka Sheba, I want to think Isaac, he has a shoe in just from being in Brawl, the rest should be Assist Trophies because and this is what I think about it, Isaac already did that, but none of those other characters, Shulk, Takamaru, Wonder Red, Robo, they were never Assist Trophies, Isaac was, but it seems that he doesn't return as one this time, my thought is Isaac should be put in before any of these characters because he actually was in, but like Little Mac, needs to be playable.

I hope Golden Sun somehow makes a comeback by the time Super Smash Bros 5 rolls around, it seems likely, but it would be nice to see a comeback for Golden Sun, and Super Smash Bros helps with this, you think what happened with releasing it on VC made a comeback, wait until people see him playable in Super Smash Bros or hey maybe even Golden Sun 4 at E3 since Mario Golf is done, who knows?

Where did it say they weren't making a new Golden Sun? The only thing I read was that Camelot wanted to see if the demand for a new one was high enough to warrant making the next installment. So I assumed the release of the original game on the Virtual Console was how they were gonna measure the demand.

We probably shouldn't give up on Golden Sun 4 so quickly, considering Dark Dawn took so long to come out after the second game. I'd like to think that regardless of what they say, they wouldn't be so quick to throw their baby away.

Even if they start working on it now we probably won't see it for 3-4 years. I do hope it's their next project though, otherwise the gap will be too big again.

Hopefully they take a leaf out of Xenoblade and Bravely Default and add some anti-frustration and customisation features

Can we really blame Camelot too much on taking a more 'safe approach' with making Mario Tennis and Golf games when Dark Dawn didn't really sell too much? Remember. They where hard pushed even making that game, even though GS1 and TLA where immensively succesful.
