In my opinion, Gaiden was the WORST in the series. It's indecisive approach made the game feel like one big failed experiment. I see FE3 as the real FE2. Much like how A Link to the Past is seen as the actual sequel to Zelda.

While Gaiden and Zelda II are considered "experiments" and not the "true sequels." You can't argue that both will destroy you and are with little argument the most difficult titles for the series.

That was my point. Gaiden is hell. But I'll still replay it before 8.

8 is a sloppy handling between the aspects of FE2 trying to put it in the "modern" (at the time) FE6/7 engine.

Holding, in my opinion, the single worst Lord of the entire series, and making you play through the game twice to do the split path that happens around 1/2th of the way through the game.

Also, fairly lazy story with few strike-out characters.

After the glory of Lord Hector, which was the last bit of FE7 people played, Fe8 was a disappointment.

Edit: And that like 100 floor bonus tower thing that felt out of place.

I can totally see an Assist Trophy DLC pack giving us Isaac, Ray MK2, Drill Dozer etc.

The unfortunate thing is that, this could be possible.

But the thing that is happening that I do like is the idea that we'll be getting trophy updates, so maybe Golden Sun will finally get trophies from the series, since I still thought it was ridiculous the franchise couldn't get one on the 3DS.

8 is pretty amazing IMO, probably my fave in the series. Best class system (until Awakening), great music, and an awesome Lord (Ephraim is a boss, **** Eirika). Really just play Ephraim's side, don't bother with Eirika's: you'll have a much better time.

EDIT: also, I really like Awakening; I've sunk hundreds of hours into that game, so that explains why I like 8 so much . I understand why it isn't as good as others, but I really don't care.

Honestly I don't think they're going to bother with an AT pack. ATs aren't nearly as big a draw as character-related content, stages and modes.

They might add one here and there for the sake of representation like with Street Fighter, but imo they'd be better off allocating their resources elsewhere, which is what I think they'll do for the most part.

Any Roy fans here? I liked him in Melee; like many people, him and Marth turned me on to FE. Roy's game (FE6) is probably the hardest game in the series, which makes sense that it wasn't released in NA.

I used to play him a lot back in the Melee days, and played a bit of the game, so I kind of like to see him back!

Apparently both Dream Land 64 and Ryu's Stage will be for both versions. So we can rest assured that Isaac will get the same treatemnt.

I think there's an OK shot. Granted, I definitely think it will just be Wolf and maybe only in 50 Facts Mewtwo form. But I think Sakurai knows that we have known about Ryu and Roy for a very long time. I bet he has something up his sleeve. Usually when things take place a certain time before an event, the thing will be that length in time. Yes, Ryu, Roy, their Stages, etc. COULD take up 20 minutes but there really is no way to be sure. One other character at most tomorrow. MAYBE another during the Digital Event, but I doubt it.

Right now, I see them announcing Wolf is in the works at the Digital Event, together with Star Fox Wii U. Nothing more.
And probably a promise by Sakurai that more things are on the way, but without many specifics!

Aw... Yes... The orchestrated theme from the Melee stage Fountain of Dreams returns! That's my favorite piece from the SSB series ever - I even have it on my playlist on my phone that I listen to at work - it's the only video game related music on there. xD

It's quite an easy game, and yes the double routes required for playing both stories has you playing the game twice (the reward is worth it though). I still think Sacred Stones is a real good game in it's own rights though. Enjoyed it a great deal. And I especially think Ephraim is a great Lord / unit. Don't worry too much what people say here. FE8 has a lot of awesome things. Trainnee soldiers, two stories, replay vallue, and a deeper, darker story than most other FE games (not counting FE4- that game's deepness takes on occult levels). I liked the game, wish it got more love.

I said as much over in the King K Rool thread.

Ryu and Roy could easily have been releasing in August and October, but from what we can tell it seems like they're going to be released during E3. That's three dlc characters coming within a really short span of time. (potentially all at the same time if they're released along with Lucas)

Which means potentially August and October are free for other character dlc releases. Maybe not ballot releases but at least it would mean getting an obvious character like Wolf out of the way.

Although this is assuming they continue the dlc character every two months for the immediate future. You'd think they would have to be working on other characters though since not only is Lucas finished but also two characters we're not even supposed to know about are finished.

I don't see the necessity in getting people to vote for characters that are already receiving the highest amount of votes comparatively...

Well that's a risk we ran since the ballot opened, that's nothing new. Though in the case of Captain Rainbow, they don't love him, they're just more familiar with him.

It's probably happening! I could see Dixie, Isaac, Takamaru or the Rhythm Heaven character as some of them, for example.

Same here actually. Roy seems to be chosen because of his popularity, that much is a given. He was easily one of the most requested characters, especially in Japan. Ryu was chosen for whatever reason, I do not know. But it's likely other characters could be chosen for similar reasons.

Sakurai didn't exactly do this with Melee either. He just picked popular choices, and characters he felt he could work with despite their popularity. For examle, for the Legend of Zelda, the most popular requested choice for a fighter was Ganondorf with a big margin. However, Sakurai choose Zelda and Sheik before him because he probably felt he could work with them better. Young Link was also about as popular, and many people still speculate Ganondorf was added in at the last minute so Young Link took priority. Not sure when else this has happened, but there are more examples. Anyone know where I can dig up the old results of the Melee ballot? It was a thread where most people got their speculation from during the pre-Brawl speculation days.

That's true, but in certain cases where the number of votes is really similar, that might be what's needed to make a final choice, allowing one character to join and leaving the other out. In the end, someone will be upset anyways, I guess!?

Ryu's theme is really good but I got sick of it after it played too many freaking times during my Project X Zone playthroughs. Nonetheless I am very happy that he and Roy both became a reality. Now to wait for Isaac.

(I also support the idea of getting Trophies and a GS stage to go along with our beloved Earth Adept's inclusion)

I could see the Chorus Men and Isaac being in this situation.
