There's a point here. Just because the entire damn world votes for ****ing Master Chief or something like that, doesn't mean he's going to get it. There are limitations on the Third Party. Mainly, Nintendo needs to get approval for it. They can't just stick in Cloud Strife because he won the ballot.
What I meant is because they said the Ballot is open to every video game character, people won't focus on Nintendo charaters anymore. Which is pretty stupid, because (I hope) we won't see tons of 3rd parties anyway. They should have stated "Nintendo characters only", because now tons of people will be disappointed, just like for Ridley: This is getting out of control.
Well a person with any sense would know that someone like Master Chief, Nathan Drake, Jak and Daxter, etc. aren't possible since they are the competitors exclusives. Most people are reasonable enough to know that mainly Nintendo characters will be added (I still think Bub and Bomberman would be cool). There is no getting through with Banjo and Kazooie fans that believe that they'll get in.
Yes, of course most 3rd parties aren't talked about since they really are not possible, as far as we know (?). The problem does mostly come from characters like Banjo or Shovel Knight, since important (in their companies) people having nothing to do with Nintendo talked about their enthusiasm, or just because their fanbases are really committed. Which is perfectly understandable since Nintendo said it was okay. Though we don't know to which extent it was true, and I believe it's in fact not very much.
Thread has been okay-ish, but looks like Smashified Isaac won't come before July at this rate. We can wait.

I kinda feel this way about Smash Bros., especially during the debates about popularity vs. relevancy before the Smash Ballot, because those third party characters are "guests" and that the Nintendo characters should take front-and-center.
First Warning: There are a few Points of No Return (three actually), and the first occurs pretty early on, so make sure you explore everything before you leave Lonpa Ruins. This stinks as you'll miss a few Djinni if you aren't careful.
So make sure I somewhat frequently check a Djinn Location guide like I happened to do in TLA, got it. xD

They namedropped that for Yookah Laylee specifically, but they did clearly state that Yookah Laylee were unlikely to be Smashified because they had high quality renders. Then they contradict that with Inklings... I don't really get it. Honestly, the Smashified doesn't look any better for Smash than the Inklings Splatoon artwork.
I had to explain that as well to people on Youtube.

Rude much? Shantae is a cult classic, Shovel Knight brought back 8bit expertise and Quote was one of the first indie games out there. When saying 'nobody names' don't bring up the three most iconic indie characters
Quote is arguably the single Indie game that made it jump out as a true quality source for small-group or single-person developers instead of just being the kind of things you'd find on Newgrounds. Don't undermine the impact that he had. It had two re-releases onto Nintendo's hardware consoles each time making leaps for improving the quality and still stands as one of the best indie titles for all time.
Sonic, MegaMan, and Pac-Man have LEGACY though. People outside the gaming culture KNOW of these characters. Hell, most gamers don't even know who Shantae or Quote are. So tell me, do characters like them with such a pitiful legacy deserve the same recognition as SONIC, MEGAMAN, and PACMAN?
I'd say Shantae would as all her games are on Nintendo, again, you're just being rude. Hell, Mega Man's franchise sells less than Rayman iirc, so that means he's got a better legacy by your logic
Legacy isn't everything. I mean look at Greninja. What legacy has he left on Nintendo's history besides being a fairly popular starter Pokemon. Nothing. In my opinion, he didn't even deserve to be in (Meowth deserves it more). Just because Quote, Shantae, and Shovel Knight aren't AAA series made by huge companies doesn't mean they aren't worth mentioning for 3rd party reps.
Remember how Greninja was chosen before XY was released? Greninja got revealed on the release date iirc
