Isaac for DLC - One day. Some day. Golden Sunday.

Has anyone found trophies of the 8 forgotten ones? I'm sad about them...:/

Ray, Jill, Helirin, and Isaac are gone all-together. Drill Dozer, whatever series Helirin is from, and Custom Robo have no content in the game at all. Resetti makes sense since people hated his AT, he's still a trophy (in both versions I believe). Barbara is a trophy in 3DS as is Excitebike. Golden Sun still has music. Lack of Metal Gear content is obvious.


The only missing AT that is in a really strange situation is Isaac. Barbara, a much more obscure character, has a music track and a trophy. Golden Sun has two music tracks, but Isaac himself is not even a trophy, even though bringing back his old trophy would've been an incredibly easy task.

Lyn was only in Awakening due to the whole Einherjar magic wonder card shenanigans. Just like Marth, Ike, Roy, and every conceivable Fire Emblem unit that wasn't a Dragon boss or a Male Manakete.

In extremely simple words, Isaac's exclusion does not make ANY sense considering obscure franchises which will probably never get another game, haven't got a VC release and were not that demanded by fans have been featured in the game.

While Isaac, one of the most recognizable Nintendo RPG character, top 5 in demand for newcomer, really popular during GBA era, still fairly popular, and with a recent game that has an extremely high chance of a sequel was scrapped.

People might say anything of why Isaac was excluded but for every argument, there is a character in the game that debunks it.

In my opinion, not every character in the game will effectively debunk a certain argument.

It's upsetting to me that he was highly requested in the first place. What's even more upsetting about this new piece if information is that isasc could've been in brawl and ssb4 from the start so that the GS series would've been more popular. I'm sure Camelot is desperately trying to find ways to reinvent themselves but its hard to say at this point

I'm not saying it makes sense. Of course Isaac being cut doesn't make sense at all. All I'm saying is, every cut AT has a good reason for being cut except for Isaac.

The only AT that has a good reason for being cut is Grey Fox. It's just that Isaac's removal, and to a lesser extent Barbara's (as her series is popular in Japan and she just got a new game last year) don't make very much sense. Maybe Sakurai kept Saki because he was the most iconic in the series and S+P did have a good game released 4 years ago.

Out of curiousity, have you ever played Dark Dawn? It's not as bad as how it was suggested. After all, True Blue Warrior himself pointed out that an even more maligned game got more materials involved, and I can argue that Other M did far more damage to Metroid than Dark Dawn did to Golden Sun.

Yeah, that's the thing. Is he sticking to the easy choices (old veterans), or is he having plans on making an "Ultimate Super Smash Bros."-type DLC package with brand-new, exotic fighters?

I get your point there. One of Golden Sun's weaknesses, if I can attest to them, is lengthy dialogue sessions. However, I didn't feel they were long enough to worry. I was more concerned about the points of no return.

EDIT: Now, prior to all this, we were discussing about Golden Sun Realm. I don't have a few memories, but I do remember the Dark Dawn contest where the first 10 people who had the correct answers could win a DSi XL and a copy of Dark Dawn. I submitted mine as quickly as possible... but I was around #14, so I never did get it. Though, I only remember this because this was back in December of 2010, and losing a contest was the least of my concerns.

I... don't want to go into that part...

But, I still have happy memories of the site and was saddened to find out that it closed. I guess finding serious Golden Sun discussion threads is harder these days, which is why I'm glad we have this.

I'm one of those rare people who played Jet Force Gemini. I'm 25 so I grew up with my SNES and Nintendo 64 and JFG was one of my fav games. Such a great gameplay and the story was soooooo long.

When I discovered Golden Sun on GBA I fell in love with it. Golden Sun and Advance Wars are two classic GBA games for me and they both deserve a rep in Smash. Isaac is no more AT but Advance Wars is still one... really weird decision given Golden Sun has soundtracks as well.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to find someone who loved JFG as much as I did. Still my #1 game of all time on the N64. So amazing, yet so underrated. I so hope GS doesn't suffer the same fate JFG did.

Anyway, Sakurai did state before in an interview (can't remember which one at the moment) that when asked what he is going to do now that he has finished Smash Bros. and answered that he was far from done. Now, this could mean anything obviously and shouldn't be taken too deep, but knowing how he loves to surprise us all, he probably is working on more content for Smash as we speak. The question is, what exactly. Most likely new characters, because let's face it, characters have always gotten us hyped for the game, but he is probably doing more. We already know that they will be releasing the Miiverse Stage, Tournament Mode and Mewtwo when they're ready, but I'm pretty sure there is more on the way. There's my 2 cents.

Yes, actually almost everyone here think it's a good idea. And it's good, because it means that the way Golden Sun should be handled in Smash is obvious. And when it's obvious, it's easier for Sakurai to implement it in the game.
For example, a character like Pac-Man was suggested for Brawl, but his moveset was hard to create, so he was only included in Smash 4.

About this, I think that it would work very less well than Bowser Jr and the Koopalings. It would work for every Venus Adept (Isaac, Matthew and Felix, maybe even Himi), but not as good with the others. I'd prefer to see alternate colors representing them, instead.

It was just an idea. But I forgot that there are only so may Venus Adepts so 8 alts of each wouldn't work. I don't like the idea of having just Isaac and no one alongside him though right. I dunno, many would say it's obvious how Ridley would've been implemented as a character yet even though Sakurai was unable to see it he managed to envision a moveset for the Duck Hunt Dog. You never know when it comes to Sakurai. Plus even if it is obvious to give Isaac Matthew as an alt that's certainly not easier to implement, you'd need a model for the alternate.

But yea, if that happens I would want multiple element users not just Venus because all protagonists have been Venus Adepts.

But he must not have LOVED GS otherwise we would have had Isaac already. He called Shulk an exceptional inclusion, Lucas was cut, etc. Pretty flimsy reasons to say he doesn't have a thing for JRPGs though.

Edit: I doubt that he would make an RPG though. A turn-based RPG game seems too far from what he has done so far.

Yeah. It was called Subspace Emissary. It was terrible. And seemed like a scrapped Kirby plot concept.

I disagree. Nearly 25% of the roster comes from JRPGs, including the second and fourth most represented series. Just because Lucas was cut and GS ignored doesn't mean Sakurai has it out for the genre. Mother and Xenoblade aren't huge series, them getting a single character each makes sense, and honestly they're fortunate to get that.

Well, I can't see Isaac and Matthew, unless you mean 38 year old Isaac and Young Matthew of course. Otherwise then I can see 17 year old Isaac with either Garet or Ivan.... Or both with him(:
