The biggest question in my mind is: Did Sakurai look at the ATs? Or did they just get ported in without thinking?
Little Mac got in, sure, but he had
far more fan demand than any of the others.
We do have some small support. The models have been sharpened, and textures for the Assist Trophies have been redone as well (there are at least two changes to Lyn's textures).
However, from what I can tell, none of the Assist Trophy moves have changed. Though, to be fair, that might just be because they were all awesome and fitting for their characters to begin with.
We haven't seen Isaac yet, but we also haven't seen any of the other unlockable ATs, except for Shadow.
If Sakurai looked at Isaac, even if just to look over Move and check if it was too powerful, I think Isaac has a fantastic chance of making it in-game. But I'm seriously wondering whether the majority of the ATs might just be stuck as ATs forever.
We need to get together with the Ray and Andy/Sami fans. We need to get the ATs moved up to character status!
For more cheerful news, I thought of another, completely different, moveset for Isaac.
Standards:
Standard - Spire
Forward Tilt - Ragnarok
Forward Smash - Oddyssey
Up Tilt - Growth
Up Smash - Mad Growth
Down Tilt - Gaia
Down Smash - Grand Gaia
His aerials are all sword attacks, because, as you probably noticed, any time he attacks with his weapon, he jumps.
Specials:
B - Move (Customization - Force, smaller hit area, much more forceful knockback)
Forward B - Grip, grabs an opponent, yanks them towards Isaac, then imparts knockback past Isaac (Customization - Catch, shorter range, but let's Isaac act almost immediately, so he can strike them before they go flying past)
Down B - Pound, meteor smash (Customization - Crush, reduced knockback, greater area of effect)
Up B - Lift
This one is all about the Hand Psynergies. It's unique because it takes a page from his appearance as an Assist Trophy. None of his Specials cause damage. However, they are among the best knockback moves in the game. Grip was inspired by the scene in
Dark Dawn where the two lumberjacks use Grip to throw the gondola past them.
Isaac's standards, on the other hand, are mostly low knockback, higher damage. So you have to switch between his standards for increasing opponent damage, and his specials for dealing great knockback.
