Is it worth buying a gamecube + ssbm now?

I've been a casual player, playing ssbm at friends' houses etc. I was wondering if it's worth the money to buy a gamecube and ssbm now. Are there enough people to play with?

So long as you have 1 person to play with, the game will always be beautiful.

It's definitely worth it. The two items will be about $40 altogether, plus expense for another controller. That's still less than the price of one new game nowadays and you'll get a lot out of it. There are probably quite a few Melee players in Korea as well, you'll just have to put some effort into finding them.

I would definitely say that it's worth it. Melee will bring you to far places and you'll be having much memories. There has to be some small community in Korea whom play smash.

I own about 24 gamecube games compared to my 3 wii games, my 6 xbox games, and 2 pc games. A gamecube with metroid prime, phantasy star, harvest moon, Mario su sunshine and SSBM will always have my heart. Best purchase I've ever made. A better purchase than my $600 gaming comp that would retail for $2000+

Do it, you won't regret it.

Yes it is, unless you own a Wii of course, but then again I can't use my AR on those :/

The GNC's are relatively cheap these days and go for as little as $35 if you know where to look, I highly reccommend one if you plan to play using codes.

It definitely is worth it, and if I'd didn't have a GC and Melee right now I'd still buy one for full price. It's a great game, alone and at parties and we have an amazing competitive community. Don't forget to buy other great Gamecube games too, Starfox Assault is the best!

Go for it man, Melee will always be worth the money.

And if it fails, you can just get F-Zero GX. :awesome:

This. FZGX is boss, and by that I mean it's the final boss for all racing games and will make you tear your hair out. I love that game.
