Back when Melee was released I didn't browse the internet at all, and until I did (about four or five months after release) I didn't know about half the game's unlockable characters. So yeah, I was surprised enough just to read them online.

I'll check the final line-up, but I won't be hunting for info on moves/play styles, watching any videos of newcomers or looking at shots of the complete character selection screen. All I'll spoil are the names.

I think that when the game releases in japan, hopefully there will be threads with titles like "Character roster for those avoiding spoilers-none SSE" or something like that. In that case, it could be safe to go on the internet for those avoiding uber spoilers.

For example, as tempting as it might be, i don't think i'll want to know anymore about the game after the Japan release date solely for the fact that I want SOME surprises left for me when i get the game. And i know that everyone that HAS the game will be posting. That said, I have been going to the offical site for months now but I think I have to stop myself from going there too.

Originally i was going to, and i was going to do the same for the US release as well, until the game was finally released in the UK. But, seeing as that may take longer than expected, i'm not sure what i'll do now.

I suppose it depends on how the Dojo is updated once they come back on the 7th. Sakurai has said that he doesn't want to be secretive with unlockable characters, so he may start revealing them on the Dojo. I'd rather not find out how characters are unlocked, whereas i wouldn't care much about finding out who they were.

Unless, of course, that revealed stuff about the SSE. That's one part of the game i'd like to stay spoiler free.

i'm not going to avoid the internet, on the contrary: I will search in youtube for SSE footage and gameplay videos to see how the characters changed in this game. I may look for two or three secret characters, but that'll be all... unless I found out that geno or megaman are in brawl and I will look for the complete roster

Hmm...I've made fun of people for not wanting to know spoilers, but recently I've been thinking about going on a Brawl break.

Basically, I would ignore the Dojo and Smashboards for the next month until the strategy guide comes out. Then when I see that in the store, I'll buy it and get all the info on the game from an official source.

But why do I want to do this? Because I want to avoid spoilers? No, not at all. Truthfully, it's all these fake roster leaks that have been happening lately. It's just out of control and ridiculous. I'm sick of religiously checking this site for the roster. I've got better things to do with my life...until Brawl comes out. Then I'll have no life whatsoever. (besides Brawl that is LOL)

I think I'll have to avoid this site. For my part, I greatly enjoyed seeing "Challenger Approaching" jump up and knowing that I was about to see someone completely new... yeah, that was great. I don't mind being spoiled on the SSE, but I'll just stay away so that a few characters come as a surprise.

I never worried about surprises or spoilers in Melee. Mostly because my bro unlocked everyone before I played it a lot. I don't care about being spoiled about smash. Now, on a game like Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Metroid or whatever, I shield myself from spoilers constantly.
