Wow, the way you tried to explain your ranking system through the points didn't go so well... for me at least. But I hope it becomes clearer later on.

*cough* sooo.. when can we expect the website to be finished?

Haha, sorry about that! When the algorithm is done and decided upon, I will most likely post it and explain it completely so that users could calculate their own rankings in hypothetical situations.

About the release date, we should have something good to show you within a week or two, and if everything goes according to deadline, we will be launching registration in early-mid January. I will also be updating this thread with answers and news updates. The site will also have a news section added within the next couple of days.

Hopefully the only "work" really will be on our part, because we're trying to make it as simple as possible for the player. A simple flowchart would go something like this :

Get opponent's Wii Friend code - > Add Friend and Play Game - > Report Results

Hmmm... one last question. Hopefully you can answer it quickly, as I have to go to bed faily soon (it's getting late and I have school tomorrow =[ )

Do you plan on starting this league as soon as the game comes out, or are you going to give it a month, or several months, before you begin.

I personally think it would be better to wait a few months and give people a feel for the game and to decide their main character. No need to be too hasty.

Smash League will launch as soon as the Brawl is released, but rankings will most likely not begin until at least a few weeks, maybe a month after release. This way, people can still play in a "competition" scene, which we believe allows to player to gain skill quicker and get familiar with his main quicker, without having to worry about it affecting their overall scores.

Alright, cool. Thanks.

Well, hopefully there is more news on this when I come home early from school tomorrow from being "sick"....

Anyway. Thanks for causing a huge stirr around these forums.

Haha, just messing arond. Thanks for bringing this idea up though, and this should be a great improvement for the game and the community.

kthxbye<3

I completely support this, and I hope you don't get discourage by the negative nancy's. Yes there are a few kinks here and there, but it's still early, there's alot of time to settle things.

I'd be interested in seeing what you have so far, and a more detailed profile of the operation. Naturally we support our members organizing themselves, and we are happy to facilitate projects that will do so.
