Yeah, so the idea has been tossed around for a bit in the social thread (which seems to be the all-purpose thread), but I felt it might be a better to have a separate thread for ways to contact our fellow Sheik mains (or users).

You only have to post up contacts you're comfortable with using for smash or this type of thing, so don't feel obligated if you think you might have to post up a bunch of contact info. I'll be trying out a format that's comfortable for me, since I made this thread... but it's subject to change.

I have yet to make my skype thingy yet. Been pinned under college work during my senior year. Hence the small decrease in my tourney attendance/practice time lol. No johns :awesome:

Uhhh, it's not completely non-existant. All of the players are ex-pats but there are probably 3-4 that play Brawl and another 4-5 that play Melee. I'm easily the best, but that's not saying much.

lol gaming stereotypes... have you ever considered going to Japan for tourneys? I'm sure you could get in contact with a Japanese smasher that knew English, maybe Korea, but it seems like a wasted opportunity considering you guys are right next to Japan

I originally moved out there because I'm an English teacher with 50K in debt and I need to pay off my loans (MA degree + BA degree = sadness). The US public education system is HEMORRHAGING cash in any place I would consider livable (see: a decent city) so there are no new jobs. I'm glad I came over here, Korea/Seoul kicks *** and I'm making more money than I would have in the States anyways (unless I magically got a job in a decent part of PA/CA).

Well, only the foreigners play Smash. I've only met one Korean who plays Smash. The melee players here are pretty good though. I think there are several here that were on PR in places like Illinois and Arizona.

I really want to go to Japan but it's 400 dollars and I would need a national holiday next to a weekend to do it. I really want to go to that international in Japan next year but it's in a bad month (March? April?).

@riocosta If you do get a chance to go to Japan, I would definitely recommend it. Was over there this summer, had a blast. Unfortunately didn't get to play anybody that was seriously good at Brawl, but just Japan was great. The worst thing is how strong the Japanese yen is right now, transportation and food, good as it is, will cost more than you would like to.

If that is so... we should take a picture (Sheik mains meeting is something special) and do a ditto (3 f-tilt lock rule).

If we meet in a tourney.... God dammit I hate serious Sheik dittos!!!!!!

If we meet in tournament, don't worry... I won't Sheik ditto you. I hate dittos, quite a bit. You'll probably get Mario or Pit.

Yeah, Japan sounds really awesome from what I've heard. Seoul has the 2nd biggest metro area in the world and Tokyo is nearly double that, so it must be an insane/awesome place.

The Korean won is improving too but not as strong as the Yen (gatt****, go to Japan and get a job people). Currencies are ridiculously volatile right now so maybe it'll get better later.

The time is more important than the money to be honest. I just don't know when I would be free to go and there be a tournament plus have enough time for sightseeing.
