Ahhhhh feels good to release another video. Within this period of producing Exposé, I tried to improve on 3 major points:

Better Content
Shorter Lenth
Less Editing

Along with these 3 points, I had a goal to empathize the techchasing and reading aspect of the game, hopefully to reinvigorate Brawl+'s image, not as an auto-combo game shown in the earliest builds, but based around the mental aspect of predicting and creativity.

I think I succeeded in all of these personal goals. Hopefully, this will meet the success of inb4rape and hopefully surpass it.

Without further a do, here is Exposé:

I thought the combos were great, very creative and interesting for the most part (the Snake ones were definitely my favorite). My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that I'm not a fan of the speedups.

Boring as hell? I don't think so. I'd prefer the combos and pace of the game stand on their own merit. The speedups could be construed by some as an underhanded method of making the game look more exciting/faster paced than it really is.

Also, your comment was a sad attempt at trying to give me criticism but ended up failing and resulted in you playing it off as trolling.

I don't know about you guys, but I was a fan of 5ive's original inb4rape, and I love this one just as much. I really loved the pika combos and the snake combos. Great job 5ive!

As for the problem with people not liking the speeding up: I actually liked that it was sped up, because it made it pop out. It it had been at normal speed, it would have been a lot more boring.

Brawl+ FTW!!

Edit: After I watched it again, all i can say is that your pika is wicked man. EPIC!

I liked the combos (who wouldn't), but not the editing. I understand the rationale behind the speedup, aesthetically it makes sense... sorta. From my perspective (looking at the actual gameplay), the editing really hurt the quality of the video.

Saying that the video would be boring without the superfluous and distracting speed changes is just absurd. Changing the choice of music makes a ton more sense. Was the video cool? Yes. Were the combos sick? Obv. It just isn't one of the videos I would watch several times, and that's purely due to the editing. Saying that the people who disliked the speedup were jumping on a bandwagon, instead of recognizing legitimate criticism, isn't fair or accurate at all.

LOL, but seriously, the bandwagon thing is just the case. I used the same editing style in the original inb4rape (regarding speedups) , and we all know how successful that was. No one, and I mean NO ONE complained then. Don't know why it's a big deal here. People are complaining to complain, and it's not like I blindly sped up the clips. I spent time to speed up certain parts, not just the whole clip. Boring/obvious points in the clip such as edgehogs or slow gaps in between clips OR simply a jump, were sped up 1.7-1.8x. My rationale to this was because the gameplay is a given - it's not like edgehogging is a surprise or something to concentrate on. The rest of the clips were simply only 1.3-1.5x. It's not a big difference at all. Plus, a bunch of clips such as my Pikachu clips weren't touched. Less placebo AND bandwagon please.

****, I keep watching the video, and it's still entertaining. I seriously don't see what's wrong with it. I don't mind criticism, but I do mind when everyone nitpicks at something that can be looked passed. Watch the video for what it is. I know this is my opinion, but the combos are way too enjoyable and the speedups are well placed at an editors point of view. But yeah, I probably won't be commenting on the speedups anymore.

well maybe if there were more clips of u ****** with C-stick instead of clips of d3 sitting on ppl then we wouldn't need the speed-ups

The original inb4rape did not have nearly as many speedups. The speedups were SPECIAL in the original video, whereas in this one I feel they are simply excessive.

There were things in the video that just didn't make sense to speed up.

2:50 Why speed up Ike's jab? The normal speed is not so long that I would lose interest if it were left alone.

3:02 You sped up Falco's laser? Even at normal speed that's pretty fast. By contrast, you left it alone in the very next clip.

4:23 you sped up Falco's dair->uair.

I can understand that you wanted to speed up clips so that they would sync with the music, but by doing this throughout the video I feel that it's just distracting. I liked the combos shown, I enjoyed the video as a whole, but I did not like that the speed of the video constantly changes.

Oh, and the constantly missed techs in the video irked me a little <_<. I know that people miss techs sometimes, but I think it would be better if you included more clips of actually chasing techs along with the combos you got off of missed techs. I'm sure you have them

Oh, and not enough Sonic clips :p (jk)

Wow at all the critics. Who really gives a ****? I showed this video to non-Brawl+ people and they loved it. It got it's message across. There's no need to be a bunch of douchey art critics especially for something as personal as a combo video. If you don't like what he did, make your own videos.

Maybe y'all just jealous that 5ive's crew actually bothers to rep Brawl+ at all in the combo video area. :chuckle:

nobody was a douchey critic and nobody really looked too much into the video. there was like 3 people who complained about the speed ups and there goes 5ive being a drama queen again.

grow up and learn to accept valid criticism 5ive.

actually let me try to predict your response. "yah well mlg ny so it doesnt matter" LMFAO
