You're the lamest gamer ever. Sonic CD was the first FMV infused platformer, made for the ever awful Sega CD. It was released alongside Sonic Blast Zone for Game Gear, and Sonic fighters for arcades. None of which hit the 100,000 mark. The Arcard machine hit a lousy 2,600 coin-ops, stateside.

What you're thinking if is Sonic Adventure. Released on 9-9-99, (Or as some call it: Sonic's Birthday.) the game was widely accepted onto Sega's Powerhouse Machine. The Mascot lost flavor to the masses, as the next games in the series fell short of undercut-estimated proceedings, even after remakes to the Gamecube.

The latest game starring the Blue Blur was highly anticipated, as Bioware (Star Wars: KorOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect) , the world's cult leaders in RPGs, had taken on Sonic and his pals in a brand new RPG adventure. Even Bioware, despite their nigh-perfect track record, wasn't able to make a Sonic seem game seem worthwhile.

Sonic Unleashed Drops next weeks across four platforms, but the beta, pre-tested, and even final early reviews have not shown the game's promise to be anything outside of Sonic's current boring niche. Once this game fails, Their (hopefully last) even newer sonic game Sonic and the Black Knight will most likely be met to the same filthy reviews, and as such, Sega will be seen as a third-rate third-party.

Capcom have been in quiet talks with Sega for a merger for the last nine months or so. Personally, I'd rather not infect Capcom with filthy Sega games.
