I loved MMBN:4, I don't why you all hated it.
Because the story is the most shallow out of the series (and that's saying something since the whole series has shallow stories).
Because you have to do 4 playthroughs of that shallow story to gain all Souls, Chips and Extras, including the last version of the boss.
Because most of the bosses suck balls or are plain cheap (Thunderman or Numberman anyone?).

It's plain boring and exhausting to play this "game".

I dont like Shadow Dragon's animations too much.

And the ****ing gaiden requirements. What the hell were they thinking.

How is Illusion of Gaia any good at all? When I played it, it seemed like it was just dungeon after dungeon with a boring battle system and no treasure to speak of. I don't even see why it's called an RPG. I got really bored of it after the first 4 scenarios or so. Does it get better later?:ohwell:

The reason why Fire Emblem and the Mario RPGs havent been mentioned is because most players don't look at Nintendo RPGs like Square-Enix's, Namco's, tri-ACE's, etc. FE was more a strategy than actual RPG, and the Mario RPGs were much too platformy to be considered a REAL RPG, though it was still one.

Anybody got a good MMO aswell? I got bored of MapleStory...
You came to the right chick.

Guild Wars
Runes of Magic
Perfect World

Extremely good F2P MMORPGs. Of course, Guild Wars needs to be paid for the disc, but it isn't pricey at all. Runes of Magic was actually JUST released a couple of months ago, and was top-rated for best F2P MMO of this year. I've played through open beta, and the game is just excellent. It blows WoW away. Perfect World has THE best character creation I have ever experienced.

That actually sounds pretty interesting. I'm going to go look into that now.
Just try to find a reliable torrent site. The game is large. Just do some research on Youtube and see what you like. I'd hate for you to download it just to not like it. This game competes with WoW in such a good way. The game is free in every aspect, except for buying in-game items with real money. There are mounts that can be gained at the beginning of the game.

I've enjoyed it, but with the weak connection I've been getting, I can't really play it.

I checked out the official site and it looks just like your stereotypical MMORPG. Swords, sorcery. Elves, Dwarves. Chicks wearing enough clothing to cover about 1/4 of a person. But regardless of all of this, it look pretty fun. I made my account and I'm now downloading it.

lol. Every fantasy MMO is going to be generic, but the idea is that it rivals WoW and its FREE. lol

I used to play WoW. To be honest, I really enjoyed it pre-TBC. Although I have no idea if you've played it or not so I'll sum up my would be rant like this. WoW is pretty fun, but you can't help but feel that your being confided in the end game expansion packs. In the original game, you have a huge world to explore with many inventive and wondrous places. But in the end-game expansions your limited to a single small continent that isn't even 1/4 the size of the original world. And that's why I really didn't like WoW as far as the end game goes.

And by the way, Lord of the Rings Online > WoW.

HOLY CRAP PERFECT WORLD.

I love that game. For even suggesting that, ILU.

I'm downloading it now, funnily enough. I never actually played it, but heard and seen some amazing things.
It is VERY good. Despite the lack of originality on monsters. The higher levels are nothing more than recolors of lower levels. But I guess that happens a lot on MMOs.

Uhm...Lemme think...

Oh yeah. Its beautiful. Very, very pretty. It will make your computer HURT if it doesn't have at least a 1.5Ghz processor and a decent video card.

My baby runs like a goddess. No worries there. The game looks great, but I am concerned about the community. I can't play MMOs if I feel like I am the only one playing them. lol

The community is wonderful. I made friends on my first day. If you try to be social, it'll be nice. Otherwise, it'll be like a boring singleplayer game. I had a group of 3 people I regularly played with..

And admittedly, RP'd with. D:

I only skimmed through here but did anyone mention Skies of Arcadia? It has the anime sty;lization and horrible vocie acting but its one of my favorite rpgs.
Have you tried any Megaten games? The devil summoner series has rpg elements and so does the Persona series. I also reccomend Ledgend of the Dragoon. I see you played xenosaga but did you play xenogears?
Everything I am mention seems too anime-ish. I know you didn't like tos but have you played others? Tales of destiny 2 is wonderfull and one of the harder tales games.
From here my reccs would turn into obscure snes rpgs, so I'm going to stop now, sorry for the wall of text!

Psh. I love MMO rping. I did it ALOT on City of Heroes, though I no longer pay for MMOs now. It adds up. It is a lot of dough.

thx. that is good stuff. It should be done near Midnight eastern.

I used to play City of Heroes, fun game.

And there's no shame in RP'ing on a MMORPG, I remember doing it a lot on RP servers when I played WoW. It's kind of like playing DnD, only with people who could be in England or Canada or some other place that isn't where you live.

@Wiscus: I used to own Legend of Dragoon. Neat little game, if I remember correctly.
