I'm coming to Socal (Long Beach) for a weekend (ARRIVING THURSDAY!)

So here's the scoop, i'm coming to cali for an engineering conference (Henaac conference) in downtown Long Beach from Thursday-Sunday.

I'll be arriving at 11am PST thursday and leaving sunday at 9am arriving at LAX and heading to the hotel i'm staying..

soo yea, i'll be staying at the hotel in the meantime, so during that thursday and friday, Is there any smash meetups or tournies during that period (i'll be free on saturday at noon). don't care if it's melee or brawl, plus SF4/BlazBlue. and if any players reside in Long Beach, that's a good bonus too

or if all else we can have a meetup and chill with a FL smasher and whatnot before i leave. I need to make this an awesome experience traveling to cali (1st time btw, airplane switching doesn't count)

Sorry didn't read the October part; um, maybe as the days get shorter, and nights get longer and you check around here (PacWest) often, you'll be able to find something. But if you play Galeon often, I want to play you in Brawl with my Lucas; and in Melee I just want to play anyone.

The conference was $100 which covers the conference, hotel, food at the event at nighttime, and the travel grant which saved me $200-400 in airfare.. it's a sweet deal to party it up for a cheap price..

oats, yea i don't mind playing in either game, but regardless you're a kazillion miles away from my location lol :(

i know irvine and huntington beach (where susa is) is around 30 minutes from long beach. would be too good if i can find a way to get to Arcade Infinity to play some imported machines (IIDX and Pop'n). like i said, i can't really rent a car and such... and taxi, is ****... unless there's train services from the long beach convention center (downtown) area.

I don't know how travel times are in the state lol. it takes 4 stinking hours to go from miami to orlando. and 1 hour from north miami to south miami or 2 to homestead >_>

took me 30 minutes of research to figure out how to get to the location i need to from LAX to the light rail and to the conference >_<

like i specifically mentioned, i'm in long beach for the weekend (being stuck in a conference) with no means of transportation (only knowing how to take the light rail from LAX to Downtown Long Beach) outside of the area i'm gonna be lol. i've done a bit of google map hunting to figure out travel times to get to places like Arcade Infinity (1 hour -_-).

edit: btw the engineering conference at Long Beach is the HENAAC conference. so if any of you smashers that are college engineering students going there is a major plus.

alright it's almost a month now and i'm almost prepped to head to socal next week. any players or small fests happening within pickup or train ride range? orr those be willing to chill with me and talk about **** (smash, games, life, w/e)

I'm fairly close to you. I can take to you a 949 hangout at Connor's or JDM's or something on Friday or Saturday (assuming someone lets us come over that weekend). If you could help me out with a couple bucks gas money, that'd be cool. :D

EDIT: I agree with Connor, melee only.
