Red comes in. "Hey, what's going on?"Dust Bunny: You have to make these choices, but we'll help you along the way.
Dust Bunny: Ashley feels overwhelmed by the idea of taking responsibility for herself. I told that she has to, but that we'd (bumps Red with his elbow) be there for her.Red comes in. "Hey, what's going on?"
"Yeah, she doesn't really like doing that, because she wishes she didn't have to be as independent as she is at her age," Red says. "But we shouldn't be letting her make choices that affect her negatively at all, because she doesn't listen."Dust Bunny: Ashley feels overwhelmed by the idea of taking responsibility for herself. I told that she has to, but that we'd (bumps Red with his elbow) be there for her.
Dust Bunny: She won't always have people to take care of her. It's very important she understands that. She may not degrade, but others do, and people are not generally going to be so welcoming of the burden if it's no benefit to them, so she will eventually find herself on her own, and then she will really be miserable for the reason you said. Please see that."Yeah, she doesn't really like doing that, because she wishes she didn't have to be as independent as she is at her age," Red says. "But we shouldn't be letting her make choices that affect her negatively at all, because she doesn't listen."
"I'll be around for as long as she will, so she'll never be alone," Red says. "She's so miserable because she had her childhood taken away from her. I think we should start helping her a lot more, because her recklessness hurts herself and everyone around her."Dust Bunny: She won't always have people to take care of her. Dust Bunny: We'll help her, no doubt, but I feel it would be robbing her if we only baby her."I'll be around for as long as she will, so she'll never be alone," Red says. "She's so miserable because she had her childhood taken away from her. I think we should start helping her a lot more, because her recklessness hurts herself and everyone around her."
"We'll see how she reacts. But remember, a lot of the things she hates, she likes secretly and just feels embarrassed," Red says. "Like dolls and candy."Dust Bunny: We'll help her, no doubt, but I feel it would be robbing her if we only baby her.
<Is that true, or is it 'headcanon?'>"We'll see how she reacts. But remember, a lot of the things she hates, she likes secretly and just feels embarrassed," Red says. "Like dolls and candy."
<Mostly headcanon, but it seems to be a little bit true><Is that true, or is it 'headcanon?'>
Dust Bunny: Huh? What does that have to do with her needing or not needing to be independent?
Dust Bunny: Well, we already know that's a disaster... (A thought cloud appears with Ashley forcing people to work in a mine, overseeing them with a whip. He shakes his head)... No, we can't just let her do anything. She needs guidance, but if we always do everything for her, she'll never develop, and as a result, she will always be... (whispers) a pain in the neck... I think even you would agree with that.<Mostly headcanon, but it seems to be a little bit true>
"I mean how she'd react to being treated in a different way. The only way to find out the best way to treat her is by seeing how she'd react to being more or less independent," Red says.
"Yeah, but the thing is....I don't think she'll ever develop. She can't age anymore, so I think she might be stuck at this maturity....forever," Red says.Dust Bunny: Well, we already know that's a disaster... Dust Bunny: If that's the case, she technically CAN'T learn anything else. Her thinking CAN'T adapt, and as many could tell you, she CAN'T solve problems. It would mean she CAN'T figure out how to create as much mischief as she does. Her brain never changes, so she just CAN'T."Yeah, but the thing is....I don't think she'll ever develop. She can't age anymore, so I think she might be stuck at this maturity....forever," Red says.
"That means she stuck making these terrible choices unless someone stops her. She can learn new things, per say, but she can't get any more 'mature,'" Red says. "We'll have to start taking action if we want her to be safe."Dust Bunny: If that's the case, she technically CAN'T learn anything else. Dust Bunny: To that first part, she may as well be a vegetable. To that second part, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING! It just turns out not to help. I mean, once I've returned to the dust, you'll be left. Then you can see what I mean."That means she stuck making these terrible choices unless someone stops her. She can learn new things, per say, but she can't get any more 'mature,'" Red says. "We'll have to start taking action if we want her to be safe."
"But she doesn't listen. I think if she were more dependent, she might," Red says. "After all, it's not like she has some adulthood to need independence for."Dust Bunny: To that first part, she may as well be a vegetable. To that second part, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING! Dust Bunny: She does if she's going to be imposing her will on other people!"But she doesn't listen. I think if she were more dependent, she might," Red says. "After all, it's not like she has some adulthood to need independence for."
"She's already great at doing that. We shouldn't be worrying about that far in the future, we should be thinking about what's best for her now!" Red says.Dust Bunny: She does if she's going to be imposing her will on other people!
Dust Bunny: Fine. I'll be quiet, but this is really useless. We'll just be going in circles forAshleyever after!"She's already great at doing that. We shouldn't be worrying about that far in the future, we should be thinking about what's best for her now!" Red says.
"We're just trying things out. Let's see how she'd react if we treated her like she was less independent," Red says.Dust Bunny: Fine. I'll be quiet, but this is really useless. We'll just be going in circles forAshleyever after!
... Ashley is greeted suddenly by a stroller entering the room."We're just trying things out. Let's see how she'd react if we treated her like she was less independent," Red says.
"What the hell is that? Isn't that for Baby Ashley?" Ashley growls.... Ashley is greeted suddenly by a stroller entering the room.
Dust Bunny: Ashley, your chariot awaits... Oh... (Sets a corndog, some candy, and apple juice in cups in the cup holders)
Dust Bunny: (Shakes head with eyes closed) Nope... (Picks her up and throws her inside, covering her with a blanket. Right as she protests, Dust Bunny puts a pacifier in her mouth)... Should we go to the park, Red?"What the hell is that? Isn't that for Baby Ashley?" Ashley growls.
"Uh, okay!" Red says. He giggles a little at seeing how embarrassed Ashley looks.Dust Bunny: (Shakes head with eyes closed) Nope... (Picks her up and throws her inside, covering her with a blanket. Right as she protests, Dust Bunny puts a pacifier in her mouth)... Should we go to the park, Red?
Ashley tries to escape from the stroller, while Red gigglws and takes a picture of her. Ashley spits the pacifier out. "What are you two doing?! Let me out!"At the park, they walk along a path in stop-motion as strangers pass by, each one with their own greeting followed by a facial take on the sight. Yet Dust Bunny nonchalantly keeps pushing along the path as though nothing were different. Hip hop music plays.
Dust Bunny: Poow baby needs somethin'. Yes, she does! (Peek-a-boo gesture. He takes out the corndog and stuffs it into her mouth) Enjoy yourself. It's a beautiful day. (Continues pushing the stroller)Ashley tries to escape from the stroller, while Red gigglws and takes a picture of her. Ashley spits the pacifier out. "What are you two doing?! Let me out!"
"Eight years old!" Red says, giggling uncontrollably. Ashley spits her corndog out at him.Dust Bunny: Poow baby needs somethin'. Yes, she does! (Peek-a-boo gesture. He takes out the corndog and stuffs it into her mouth) Enjoy yourself. It's a beautiful day. (Continues pushing the stroller)
Stranger: Cute! (Dust Bunny stops) What's her name? (Dust Bunny: Ashley)... I could just eat her up!
Dust Bunny: Please do. She's a handful. Hehe. She means the world to us.
Stranger: Yeah... Why she eating a corndog?
Dust Bunny: Cuz she's a biiiiiiig baby. She can handle it.
Stranger: Oh? how old is she?
Dust Bunny: She's...
Stranger: Well she's the sweetest thing. Good day, y'all... (Picks up the corndog and bites it, going on their way)"Eight years old!" Red says, giggling uncontrollably. Ashley spits her corndog out at him.
"Home!" Ashley growls. "I need to find out what you two are up to!"Stranger: Well she's the sweetest thing. Good day, y'all... (Picks up the corndog and bites it, going on their way)
Dust Bunny: Where do you wanna go next, Ba... Ashley?
Dust Bunny: Up to? I'm insulted. I just want us to enjoy ourselves... Baby selfie!... (Pulls a camera from 'hammerspace,' taking a picture)"Home!" Ashley growls. "I need to find out what you two are up to!"
"NO!" Ashley screams, her hair turning white. She kicks her feet in frustration. "LET ME OUT!"Dust Bunny: Up to? I'm insulted. I just want us to enjoy ourselves... Baby selfie!... (Pulls a camera from 'hammerspace,' taking a picture)
Dust Bunny: (As though there were no noise) Meh, I decided that stroller looks great on you... (Presses a button, lowering a noise-insulating shield in front of the opening)."NO!" Ashley screams, her hair turning white. She kicks her feet in frustration. "LET ME OUT!"
Ashley tears through the straps and runs away. "STOP EMBARRASSING ME!" she shouts.Dust Bunny: (As though there were no noise) Meh, I decided that stroller looks great on you... (Presses a button, lowering a noise-insulating shield in front of the opening).
Dust Bunny: (Trumpet noise) You hear that, Red? I'M embarrassing her.Ashley tears through the straps and runs away. "STOP EMBARRASSING ME!" she shouts.
"Well, I sure didn't do anything to her! Well, except for telling her age...." Red says, giggling more. "But maybe some public humiliation will set her straight!"Dust Bunny: (Trumpet noise) You hear that, Red? I'M embarrassing her.
<He was being sarcastic. He meant that Ashley was embarrassing herself.>"Well, I sure didn't do anything to her! Well, except for telling her age...." Red says, giggling more. "But maybe some public humiliation will set her straight!"
<I know, Red was just joking too><He was being sarcastic. He meant that Ashley was embarrassing herself.>
Dust Bunny: We'll see.
Dust Bunny: Walks over, standing her up. Red, will you take a look at this. It's obviously not a good idea for me to be messing with bloody cuts.<I know, Red was just joking too>
Ashley trips and scrapes her knee, and surprisingly, it makes her cry. "Well, that's that," Red comments.
"Aw, did someone get a boo-boo?" Red teases, making Ashley scowl at him. He puts a bandaid on it. "Should we go home now?"Dust Bunny: Walks over, standing her up. Red, will you take a look at this. It's obviously not a good idea for me to be messing with bloody cuts.
They return home."Aw, did someone get a boo-boo?" Red teases, making Ashley scowl at him. He puts a bandaid on it. "Should we go home now?"
