I lost my save data :(

Unsure if this in the right section but I'm kind of upset right now.
My stupid memory card just corruped my Melee save data which easily had over 400 hours clocked on it. It was a 100% legitimate file and now all of that work is gone :(

I don't know if anyone can aid me with advice on how I can either get it back or maybe rework some data onto my memory card but any help would be massively appreciated.
:c

I speed-run Melee for fun all the time, so I have lots of experience with erasing my data and unlocking it all again.

It's actually really simple if you play gay, you can unlock EVERYTHING (including trophies and stuff) in less than a month. Maybe even 2 weeks if you are lucky/experienced. You can wobble/shine gimp through heaps of the 1-player stuff really easily.

My advice: Follow this guide.

Okay well thanks I guess.
Feel like doing a 100% save for me and letting me buy the memory card :3

Only the cost of a mem card, lol.

I don't want anything for the effort, just so long as I don't lose money in the long run, it's all gewd.

Would you be happy with an unofficial memory card, or do you want a Nintendo one specifically?

Uh either is fine, just preferably one which If dont have to jam some paper in the side of so it reads and doesnt corrupt whenever someone moves or sits up ;)
How much $$ is a normal card and also is it possible for you to ship to the UK?

Use Action Replay if you wanna get all that stuff back. I had a legit file with everything 100%, but then, because I had a different memory card in from playing another game, I swapped in the card with the Melee save file, pulled off a TL;DR and overwrote my data, with nothing. This happened like a week ago. I just stopped playing Melee ever since, and I can't even find my dusty old Action Replay's memory card, so AR won't start up. Screw that, I'm not gonna go through all that to get all my stuff back, especially on such a damaged disc that keeps crashing on all the main single-player modes.

I knew I shoulda created a backup, cuz really, most of the time I was just beating up CPUs out of boredom, even though they caused me more depression than fun because of how much I suck.

I could ship to the UK if you pay the shipping costs, I reckon.

The memory card I send you will be an official Nintendo grey memory card. Everything will be unlocked including characters/stages/trophies/all-star/score display/random stage switch/mew/celebi/sound test/events.

I could get you MOST of the messages, but some of them will just be impossible given the time frame (for example: Play 100,000 vs. matches).

Price imo: Shipping (? I'll work it out) + Memory card ($10-ish) would be fine.

I've had my Melee with like 2000 hours (I don't bring my Melee to tournies, either) and over 50000 matches corrupted quite a little while ago...

I feel your pain, man

This actually happened to me once, I was using a 3rd party Nyko memory card, my save file was 100% legit, I had like 100+ on it, I turned it off one night, then the next day it was gone, it was really upsetting.

So I ended up getting an AR with AR memory card, I must warn you if you plan on using codes with your AR memory card and plan to save your games on it, it tends to reformat for some unknown reason, it happened to me three times, ever since I never really relied on any of those Memory Cards, just as long as you don't use it for codes then it works just fine.

Guys guys, NTSC save data is not compatible with PAL Melee. They play PAL in UK.

You should just go to a UK tournament and ask someone if you can copy their data. I know it's a bit much to go to a tournament just for save data, but you should be going to tournaments anyway, it's a lot of fun :)

I love starting over on smash. I lost my data a while ago, before I was into adavanced melee, so when I wanted to try it out, I had a blast of time trying to unlock everything and being super fast with all the new techniques i learned.

Funny thing happened just yesterday, my bro bought a new "generic" Memory Card, it seemed to work for the first couple of days saving Melee, but the thing is he had also just finished completing the game and had finished unlocking everything, but the sad part is that a couple of days after completing everything his memory suddenly wiped out all his data.

Just goes to show that you should never rely on generic memory cards, especially if they are dirt cheap.

whenever my memory card corrupts i just whip out the action replay. i used to go for doing it the hard way. but it's kinda stupid doing a lot of the pointless stuff evvvvvery time you have a memory card mess up. which for some reason happens to me all too often. maybe because of the action replay? it doesn't seem to have a correlation though. and i don't use it very much.

Back when Gamecube was newer I had a non Nintendo brand memory card and all my saved data on all my games got erased due to memory card corruption. I was devastated so I know how you feel.
