Usually, when I'm playing normal players I'm perfectly fine, but I play someone that spams the hell out of PK Fire and PK Thunder. He also smashes at any opportunity he has, and the lingering hitbox of up smash always gets me for some reason. I shield his PK Fires and approach with Dancing Blade and Down Tilt but usually he uses PK Fire enough to whittle my shield down to almost nothing. I've also tried SHADing but he PK Thunders me. Any advice is appreciated.

Uhh. I don't see your point. You can counter in midair.

release grab to Dsmash if you want an easy win. just start spamming down on the c-stick when they are at a high percent.

Doesn't Marth have chaingrab on Lucas?
That he does...

I have a friend who is a spammy Lucas. With them you just have to be skilled at dodging when they hit themselves with PK thunder at you. If you like to use counter, it's very difficult with Lucas at times, especially his U-smash, (but again it's easy to get off with moves like his F-smash...) because it has a laggy start time. If they spam PK thunder (Just at you) then that's easier, since it's much weaker. If you're recovering counter isn't very effective against it because (At least with Ness, I don't know if Lucas's PK thunder always goes through you) it can set off counter if the tail hits it and keep continuing, I'd just use air dodges. And if you're in your shield so much, I suggest using a shield->grab or shield->DS if you're close to him.

assuming you don't want to inf release grab him; pk fire isn't too hard to perfect shield. I would perfect shield a couple to approach, once you're in his face you can outreach him with d-tilt, ftilt, fair, or dancing blade. Also, yea, countering usmash is really easy.

And even if you don't want to inf release grab him, you can at least get a free smash off of a single grab release.

Lucas is no threat, he has priority in the air but not range. Wait for him to land then grab immediately, BUT don't get caught by his auto-cancelled airs->ftilt, timing is key.

The number 1 reason you are gonna get caught by his usmash is underestimating his range and how long it lasts. Until you get time to analyze and memorize the hitbox, avoid it completely or counter it for a tasty free hit (like 25%).

Once again, grab release to dsmash is golden and worth 20%...ish. Also, doing it once or twice makes winning easy, but not so easy that the lucas player complains.

if he's spamming, then he should be predictable enough to do whatever you want. if you know what he's about to do, then do what you can to punish that.

Jump over Pk fires to an fair/ nair.
Spotdodge PK thunders, run up to him and proceed to punish.
Smashes?
Stick is really fast, I recommend learning when he's going to smash, then spotdodge.
Dsmash....jump over him, fsmash.
Usmash....well, stand back, then run and punish him.
The aftertaste of the usmash is horrible on Lucas's behalf.

I've pretty sure I've played this matchup more than any other Marth.

Spot dodge is one of the worst things you can do against Lucas.

His smashes last a long time, you'll get hit by the lasting hitboxes.

Learn to SH Air Dodge on approach, or if you know he's going to attack SH counter is good.

Your f-air beats everything he has.

Once you guys advance your metagame, he'll try to evolve his game around gimping you since Lucas does a good job of that. Mix up your recovery with dancing blade to change your speed and angle of recovery, also with different timing of dolphin slash.

Also, if the Lucas is good he'll try escaping in between grab attacks. Sounds hard... but you just increase button spamming in between hits which helps with the jump break.
