How do you drive? (position, etc.)

Hey, I was driving to school today and noticed that I drive one-handed with my left hand at the 9 o'clock position. I assume that most people drive with their left hand at the 12 o'clock position.

So...how do you drive? State which hand(s) you drive with and at what position. KTHNX!

Edit: perhaps I'll keep track and continuously update the results...

Just slam your foot on the accelerator and go with the flow.

Jk.

But maybe Smash boards isn't the best place to ask this...

Why? I'm just curious. Plus I think there are plenty smashers who drive, and most of them are probably competitive smashers.

I switch, either right hand at 12 or left hand at 6.
LOL, left hand at 6? Isn't that awkward for making left turns?

Right hand, between 10 an 11 o'clock. I'm weird.
At least your hand's at the top. You should drive stick and shift with your left hand. Mad technical.

I do left hand 9, right hand 3. My driving school said the optimal hand positions are 8-4 or 7-5, but I think that's BS.

I rarely drive, but I need to drive more. I don't really quite know, but I noticed that driving with these shows was quite annoying. I might have to take them off next time. I feel as though I need to practice Driving as much as a practice smash, except with driving, YOU CANT LOSE. Argh

Left at 9, right at 3 if I'm using both hands, but they'll shift around a lot

Sometimes left or right on 6.

Anyone ever use just their left knee sometimes? Not very safe, but I can make slight turns and have both hands free ;)

Nope, I am still a novice with driving, I'm going to be on the safe side. (I'm the type of person to double check things more than once) was just driving to Walgreens, then to Walmart, and back. I'm going to make an appointment for the Drivers test for next week. I took off my shoes to drive. Now, the positions, I don't quite remember which they are. My hands were not so close, on top, I guess. I'll double check tommorow if I drive again.

Well I typically drive with only my left hand as I lean down against my seat, I don't know why my left hand, but I feel more comfortable driving with it, and i'm not even a lefty!

I usually drive with both hands at 10 and 2. Lol, the generic position is most comfortable for me.

When I'm tired I slouch down in my seat with my left hand on 9 or 11.

It's better because if you ever need to drive stick you'll be comfortable.

I have to drive with my seat leaned back to keep my spine from compressing too much otherwise my right leg will lose feeling and I can't lift it off the pedal. Sounds dangerous but I am very good at ensuring that it doesn't happen, due to a near accident when it first started happening.

Hm... I think it depends. When I first started driving, I would use both hands all the time. Now, I drive with my left at 9. When I make turns I still use both hands. :lick:

I am just starting to drive, yay. I hope to one day see Driving as I see Smash, except never to lose. Not that I'm going to do Crazy things, but to be experienced as a Driver and be SUPER COMFORTABLE and KNOW what to do everywhere I go. :p

If I'm using both hands, it's generally 8 and 4. In most cases I'm usually only using my right hand, in about the 4 position. Though it's not really my hand, but my index finger and thumb.

Wow guys, just wow. You know, you try to drive as DEFENSIVELY as you can, you know, so that nothing bad happens to you, the driver, or anyone that is riding with you. But then, there are other people, who somehow contradict your "Carefulness" and ignore that!!!!!!!!!! Ok, here is what happened:

I was driving, pretty well in fact. When my father told me it was ok to speed up a little more, I told him in time, the speed will come, but not too much speed. Well, I drove to pick up my sister from school, then to the house to pick up mother, then, to the place to give my father Dialysis. Waited for a bit, listened to the radio. My leg was getting a bit tired, and I had my hands in a position where they were tired as well. After a while, My mother and sister came out.

We drove to the Sprint store (note today is my sister's birthday) and I was taking my time to park. I looked back, to make sure I was driving in reverse fine, then left a bit, and forward to park. I park, and then, a minute passes. BAM BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. D:< D: <

Some woman comes crashing into us, with much speed, and my sister had just opened the door. See that! I try to be as careful as I can, and then some woman just speeds up and almost hit my sister. Of course, this had me a little nervous. The woman obviously adjusted her car to make space so that it could look as though it was my sister's fault. Although, there isn't much damage a door can do when opening, when a car can come that fast.

Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I feel so, ugh. Second day driving on the streets, and this happens. I wonder why people sometimes drive like that. Please, please, be careful when driving, and when you are parked. If there is a parking space to the left, and none to the left, try going to the right to prevent some crazy *** driver from possibly causing an accident.

That is what I learned today, Also, I will always make sure that anyone I know is insured if they will be driving my car. I am not insured yet, and I was going to get insured on Friday. D: Please, all of you, learn from my mistake. Also know that random **** like that happens from time to time, preventing you from having a good flow in life, and causing you to fall behind of whatever you are trying to keep up with.

Why does life have to be so complicating in such an annoying and random way?

There is my rant *heavily takes a breath in and out*

Thanks you guys for hearing me out.

In your kitchen, drinking your kool-aid
I usually drive with just my right hand at about 7 or 8 'o clock on the wheel. And most of the time it's using my index, middle, and and thumb fingers.

I use both hands when I'm making a tight turn or my lefty when I'm backing up.

Generally one hand, but when I turn I put my hands at 2 and 10 then just rotate them around.

I drive with my knees sometimes it pretty cool.
My dad used to do that so that his hands were free to hold his Coke while he was driving.

He once drove into the side of a moving train. Not saying there's a connection but, you know. Food for thought.

I use the GCN controller.
Ha! You guys use the wheel? Losers.
I'm suspiciously good with the wheel in Mario Kart Wii. You'd think I'd be, like, a decent driver or something.

I drive with my seat moderately reclined and way back to make room for my long sexy Falco legs. I use my left hand at about 10 30, but it gets a bit tiring sometimes because I don't have anything to rest my elbow on (keep in mind that in Australia, the wheel is on the right). During such times I move my left to 6.
