Iblis, and other foxes, what simple tricks would you pass on to someone who is just learning fox? (for the vid)

Ground break i think... i dunno...

I know when i was learning SHTL, I used to just spam b and hope it worked, then i realized that all you need is the buffered laser, then pause, then double laser timing. That helped me a lot. I also use my index, and middle finger to do the buffered laser. Its kinda like clawing, but different, and I second ganon so its something i'm used to doing already

tap jump is a short hop. so short hop b would be SHL (l for laser)
SHL=short hop laser
SHDL=short hop double laser
SHTL=short hop triple laser
youll be seeing those terms here and ESPECIALLY on the falco boards. well not SHTL, but SHDL and SHL probably make up one-fifth of falcos game.

guys.
seriously, just set the L button to specials and shtl will be so **** easy,
because you jump with one hand and press the spacial with the other.

tap jump is a short hop no tap jump is a jump made with the control stick. so short hop b would be SHL (l for laser)
SHL=short hop laser
SHDL=short hop double laser
SHTL=short hop triple laser

I lol'd at that

Also, I tried the trigger option and my index finger cant keep up, mainly because of how hard those buttons are to click (even with removed springs). My bet that fox was designed with wiimote+nunchuck in mind

well, I have an issue with tapjump and getting a short hop. I just cant do it (never really tried to hard either) and i also experimented with using the dpad as special, not too bad actually

Oh I guess it's because I always used tap jump before getting into melee and figuring out X is the best way to jump with Fox's waveshine and stuff

Got any offlines vids of yourself?

Cause not to be the bad guy but I hear a lot of Wifi Foxes say they are good. I won't lie I used to be one of them until I started going to tournies and finding people in my area to play.

well I personally just dont like tap jump simply because using X is much better. You have easier control over the direction and height of jumps.

Shoot I got a offline tourney tommorow and I havent played game in 2wks can barely buffer constant SHTL. I may have to stick to SHDL ;-;
Go to training mode and pratice and pratice man XD like cramming before an exam. You'll do great maybe if not in the tourney but in the friendlies I'm sure! Make sure to get videos of yourself in you can.

If I reflect a projectile I can jc the shine, right?
Can I do a jc usmash out of shine?

That would be awesome if a falco tries to laser -> boost smash and you counter with laser -> jc usmash.

I did not understand anything you said no offense lol. If you reflect something you would be in reflect lag and I believe you can only buffer roll or jump?
yeah you can jump or roll cancel the shine ending lag. Since we all can jc our shield into usmash (hell yeah!), I asked if we could jump cancel our shine into usmash???
Scotu actually said something about that in his old guide,

If you can jump, you can jump cancel. I dont see why you shouldnt be able to a JC'd Upsmash out of a reflector. The logic behind it is there.

So I havent touched the game in MONTHS, but before I took a long break, SHTLs was my specialty and I bragged about being able to do it consistently since no one else was able to x3 Before my break in August I was trying to find a way to do retreating SHTLs But anyways, during the past weekend I found myself somehow being able to do retreating SHTLs very fluidly for no reason what so ever. And how I thought of doing it is...Well...I have no idea... Its basically a RAR SHTL. It works very well in replacement of B stick SHTL and its a lot easier to do. Downside is, the chance of tripping is there...But its just Dash, use the turn around animation, and during that SHTL. If done right, the momentum will carry you away from the opponent while you SHTL. Anyone have any better ways though? Im curious if this is legit?

EDIT: Dammit my bad for double posting Dx

I am pretty new to Faux, and I am at class right now so I can't try it myself. But, as an approach, how effective would a RAR Dair landing behind the opponent be? Assuming you are standing in front of them on the same level. You won't get shield grabbed, but if they shield you can buffer a grab. So unless they have a good OoS option that also works behind them (probably like ROB), would this be good/safe?
