How do I deal with platform camping Fox players?

I'm not sure how to approach them. I've tried approaching with various aerials, but I usually get beaten out, since that's basically rock/paper/scissors. I've had a fair bit of success with FH Nair.

I've also tried not approaching, but simply moving around the bottom, or side platforms, but since he has the top platform, that usually still results in him having the upper hand. I've tried platform camping myself, but I just can't play that way. I'm not any good at exploiting the rock paper scissors aspect of smash, so I usually get beaten out either way.

If he's on the top platform, FJ lasers or FJ b-airs are win. If he's on the side platforms, shoot lasers underneath the platform.

Also make sure you're winning xP

i use shines and wavelands to attack around the platforms. usually when you start chasing them down on the platforms they will go to the ground, which is pretty much what you wanted to accomplish.

you can also jump to the opposite platform and laser him.

Can I get some real advice instead of stupid ****wits telling me to play Marth? Or are none of you intelligent enough to keep from your pathetic attempts of trolling to help me out?

fox camping up top is a good time to use falco's dashdance on the stage, making sure he cant hit you with lame things like run off -> bair. gotta wait him out. if the opportunity presents itself, shoot him with 2 lasers out of a fulljump. be sure to avoid geting hit by a drillshine, especially near the ledge.

if he's above you shielding on one of the side platforms, its ok to jump, shine on his shield, immediately double jump into a dair (which prevents him from jumping out of his shield, if he jumps he gets hit by your dair, then you can follow up) then moving sideways out of that and retreating (if he stayed in his shield this whole time and didnt get hit by the shine or dair)

it's not worth it to be too aggressive in this case, just watch out for your position relative to his, and the ledge

now that you've nicely asked i really want to help you out.

Its the boards. People talk, people troll. Get over it and don't attack the people you want to help you.

Just stay under him. Play his own game against him. Uairs and laser camping have been suggested but I recommend running to a side of the platform hes on and jumping on it. Jab his shield, tilt, do something where he is either going to want to shine(proceed standard pillar response here), or jump away so just start with the lasers. Nothing more annoying than a Falco that can press his b button well.

I have every right to attack the f***wit who decided that it'd be cool to be a useless little b**** instead of actually helping me.

They usually just react by running off/bairing when I try this.

I should note that I have the worst problem dealing with this on Yoshi's Story.

Whats really irritating is that when I decide to do it myself, somehow Fox's Bair beats me out from under the top platform. :\

Don't run into the bair. Get up there, jump backwards and laser. Falco controls Yoshi's better than fox when it comes to platforms.
Fix'd

Also: listen to MarsFool!

Sorry but I had trouble understanding what you were saying the way you worded it so I thought I'd make it easier for everyone.

d-air lacks range and gets beaten by pretty much all of falco's moves.

Anyways, to beat campy foxes, laser them from the other side of the stage. If you're losing, then laser them until you get close and trap them at the ledge. Make them feel uncomfortable by going below them. Any character is in a bad position if they are above you, unless you don't have the jumping speed / height to catch the opponent. Falco does though, so do SH u-air under the platform. If they are on the top platform, then attack them from below. They have to shield it, or take a hit so might as well do it. If they come down from a platform to attack you, then u-tilt beats all his aerials.

Alternatively, you could just laser under a platform on the other side of the stage. They have to approach some time.

As falco, you can do a lot of things to get them off of platforms. Laser is awesome. You can at the same time, cut off their approach options thanks to the laser:
- Isai drop
- stair step
- DJ double laser
- run off the stage and DJ double laser
- run off platforms and DJ double laser

You shouldn't be getting camped as falco (other than maybe vs jiggs). He has the best stage control in the game.

Seriously if you are consecutively getting platform camped and drillgrabbed by Fox you are doing something wrong.

Be more adaptive and stop doing things you get punished for.

For the platform problem:
It's usually good to laser him while doing a Full- or Doublejump onto one of the side platforms.
Alternatively you can also waveland onto them and wait there for a reaction.
Jumping directly up with an aerial from below usually doesn't really work.

For the drill to grab problem:

If he starts to approach to drill you probably CC alot of his nairs.
Against drill that's obviously bad, because you can't CC it and you also can't dash away anymore.
You should either jump and try to hit him (usually shine is the only thing that comes out fast enough) --> if his drill hits you will land and you can still try to outrange him with another gronded shine (because single drill hits produce only very little lag)

If that doesn't work for you, you can still SDI away.

And if you mess up the SDI on the drill you can still spotdoge stupid pseudo combos like drill to grab or drill to upsmash ;)

edit: and listen to unknown522
