Houston Thread - No HOBOs and no WHOBOs. What do we do now??????????????????????????????????????????

he isn't too serious about his dk. he'll take him to HOBO17 cuz he has no choice, but mk is just more fun to play for him. besides, it's a smashfest. they aren't supposed to be taken as seriously as a big tournament. now, i understand it's your smashfest, so your rules. if you want it that way, he'll go all dk. (i'm still hoping he doesn't have to.)

I'll leave it up to the people that play him. If he wants to use MK and they're okay with it then I have no problem. Plus, he can use him in friendlies all he wants. I'm just looking forward to HOBO 17. Why practice against a character that won't be playable?

I'd just really like to not see 2+ MKs each game. People that don't play MK will play MK in teams just because he's MK and he's in the top 3 best teams character. I just want some variety for once. But again if people agree to letting him be used in their team sets then I'm not going to stop it.

I'll be having one this Friday coming. July 24th and this time I'll have a 20 player cap

Few rules a need to lay down though. My mom went ape on me after Pop dropped that F*** word 3 times in a row, nice and loud. So guys please, please watch your language. I know I run my mouth too, but you know how parents are. Now there is a good chance they'll be gone for the majority of this fest.

Also I'm going to run this like Gea's fest, and have a mini tourney if you guys are up for it. So how about we get some pizza for dinner? So bring some money for pizza, soda, and tourney.

$2 each for Doubles tourney!

Good. If you choose to allow metaknight you ae giving people like carnage and any other wimp who has to rely on metaknight false hopes. Cause they will attend HOBOs and not be able to use that broken char. So they are getting practice with a char they will never get to use in a REAL tourney situation.

i recommend 1vs1 first. NEVER EVER do 2vs2 first.

I HAD to do it firsta few times cause dugfin begged me.

You NEVER do double first because:

1. Lots of people do ****ty in teams and lose hope then decide to save money/time and not enter singles.

2. Tournaments are recorded in History by thier turnout for 1vs1. Wether axis was ran well or not, its in the books as the largest brawl event ever. So by doing 2vs2 first, u may accomplish #1 which may in turn stop you from going down in the history books.

3. Doesnt matter what ANY TO says, 2vs2 is more or less a side event and 1vs1 is the MAIN event. What if a COT4 happens again and you ARE NOT lucky enough to go to an apartment and finish? You could afford to drop 2vs2 or even make it single elim and not get too much heat for it but if you were to do that fir 1vs1, all hell would rain down.

The people that DO travel in Houston (sethlon/xyro/razer) can either beat them(sethlon/razer) or accept that they cant and are OK with it(xyro). The rest never travel and wouldnt beat the HIGH level metas(tyrant/dojo/dsf/judge) anyway. Boom, case closed.

You dont do doubles first because it messes with the singles bracket...like when ppl can paly there matches, so the singles bracket becomes stalled up, all because one person hasnt played any of his matches.

they are allowed but if they are annoying like GHnekos are, i will have them, turned off. If a player wants the normal music then can take out the SD card.
