i'd be hyped but man i cant find myself caring, which is depressing.

Sammy needs to stop being dumb and put money on the table so Sega can make a new console. >:

Sega is good. They have interesting IPs, they're creative, they dominate the arcade market, and are one of the few companies to sustain their profits through the fiscal year.

Dont even start **** with me.

it mostly applies for sudden death, though. usually, if it was from a normal match, the game stops registering stock loss almost immediately after the last stock of a player is lost.

So it's possible that he probably was just literally a quarter of a second away from dying with you.

But ports do play a part in who wins vs same second draws, among other things.
Same time deaths always go to sudden death. If you die at the same time again in SD then lowest percent wins.

Sega is a great company...but they should probably stick to software...which has always been what they do best in the console arena (though I am surprised at what happened between them and Platinum Studios). Nobody needs a 4th console. Not like it would even survive with the other 3 sticking around.

My favorite one:

So if two players die at the same time because they both died at the same time and then go to Sudden Death after dying at the same time and then die at the same time because they died at the same time again and do not have the same percentage because they died at the same time without hitting each other (this is in Sudden Death by the way after they died at the same time the first time and then died at the same time again).......what happens?

What are sega's MAIN IP's? I seriously can't think of anything good coming out of them in the past 6 years aka THIS gen.

Their main IPs this gen were Yakuza, Virtua Fighter, Sonic, and, earlier this gen, Valkyria Chronicles. The core Sonic games have been improving this gen, VF5 was legit, Valkyria Chronicles trilogy was well-received, and Yakuza is consistently good.

Anarchy Reigns/Madworld IP
Phantasy Star Online 2
Bayonetta
Sonic
Hatsune Miku
Total War
Shining Force
Border Break

Unless you're only looking for 1st party IPs.

Sega sucks or else they would be doin ****
Sega left the console buisness because of poor buisness practices. Their game sales were fantastic and had a huge fanbase following, and during the dreamcast, had amazing 3rd party support due to the naomi hardware pretty much being arcade hardware.

Same time deaths always go to sudden death. If you die at the same time again in SD then lowest percent wins.
if the percents are the same, it goes to lower port, which matters more.

oddly enough, there is a 4th console coming out.

ALso sega, when they were in the hardware buisness had super good software sales.

I'm not even seeing where there could be a market for a 4th console. Who isn't already covered by the 2 hardcore charge you for everything consoles and the one for kids?

...

Sega ****ing blows and they need to sell Sonic to Nintendo and die forever. They botched their partnership with Platinum just like they botches every Sonic game for YEARS. Yakuza is an okay game, but its pretty flawed and tedious. Sega hasn't done much right in a long time.

Ouya is teh 4th console that'll be entering the market.

also

you do realize that it was mostly SoA that ****ed up marketing for Plats games? They sold much better in EU and JP. Much much better.

>Sega hasn't done much right in a long time.

***** what are you smoking.

borderbreak and shining force cross raid are fantastic arcade games. Sega.NET revival and Ringedge are also legit as hell.

Sonic generations did so much right and they've been stepping up the Sonic IP since Unleashed.

Not only that but all star racers is solid despite being a rip off and sold enough and got enough good reviews to warrent a sequal.

Let's not forget Phantasy Star Online 2 which has gotten mostly super good remarks from the hardcore PSO community (PSO-World) and is getting a western launch. PSPi-2 is also well spoken of.

hatsune miku games sell like hotcakes in japan too.

Rhythm Thief sold around 160k putting it @ #54 out of 359 3DS games, which isnt great, but it's certanly decent. reviews also are generally positive.

Virtua tennis 4 sold 1million copies and had a 65-72 rating across pc, 360, and ps3. again, not great, but still solid.

their games generally have solid sales and solid reviews.

get the **** out of here loooooooooooooool

if you're gonna knock a company, you go by their record; checked against the general public around the world and if not, at least in your region/continent, not your preferences.

LMAO the Ouya.

That's literally a smartphone on steroids. I fully expect that piece of trash to fail. It's a 7th gen console coming out during the 8th gen.

:phone:

63,416 backers. Out of those, 44,973 will get a console. There are dozens upon dozens of independent devs anxiously waiting to put out games for Ouya, as well as some AAA devlopers and publishers willing to put out. Not only that, but the simplicity of the console as well as the 100$ price point make it extremely appealing.

Not only that but Game Stop has shown interest in stocking Ouya which means the console will be put in the eyes of casuals, which is huge for marketing.

Not to say this will ensure it doesn't fail, but it has more than a reasonable chance at success.

It's also a bit more than a smartphone on steroids. A better (but still slightly inaccurate) comparison would be to tablets :V

The lack of hardware power is not a deterrent in terms of market sales and gamer appeal, as the PS2 was technically weaker than the GC, but outsold it super well, had amazing 3rd party support, and captured the hearts of millions of core and casual gamers, and the Wii was far weaker than the 360 and PS3, but ***** both consoles in market sales for a long long time (partially because of its low price point.)
