i know of a computer lan center with
-2 lcd tvs about 40 inches? though they are laggy
-a projector (i guess for finals or something)
-and a semi large rear projection tv about 40 inches as well
-they also have a lounge area for eating/they sell drinks & snacks

so set ups arent really required but necessary if people find the lag unplayable

i can ask them if they could host a melee tourny there
the venue its self is pretty large and shouldnt be too crowded

All of those televisions from a technical standpoint will lag at least 2ms (and that's very unlikely). The projectors especially so. No problem though. Play n Trade has a bunch of televisions but a lot of people are bringing setups (I hope). Just get everyone to do the same.

LCDs generally don't have lag...at least mine doesn't and that's what I use to play lol

I wasn't there because I was with my friends since I do have a life outside of smash (O_O SAAAAY WHHHHAAATTT?!)

And the reason why I didn't go afterward was because Dawn had already left and since he was the best one there so there was no point in me going anyway

And I'm not sure all projectors are laggy (Sybawave and I and some of our other friends have used projectors before - but there are definitely some with noticeable lag). I don't know much about this stuff though.
