Yes, the level only takes a little bit to learn-- I doubt anyone disputes that. The problem is that being stuck in the air for like 30-seconds and not being able to reach the grounds makes you a sitting duck against characters like Metaknight, DeDeDe, Wario, etc.
I won't bother with the other transformations because although they are pretty broken too, the air one alone is enough to justify the whole level being banned, even if it was the only transformation that was "bannable", because you can't even camp it out like you do the PS1 transformations.
There isn't really much else to explain about it. It's not that people don't understand what's going on (at least people who have played it a few times), it's that what happens ruins matchups and eliminates so many options.
Personally, I REAAAALLLYYY want to like PS2. It has better ledges than PS1, which is awesome. It has a better layout, although it's still very similar, and I really like the Earth transformation. Unfortunately, every other transformation is hardly even bearable. Sadly it's just ruined by those transformations being WAY too outlandish and closer to the mechanics of the ultimate lawl-stage, Spear Pillar, than any other stage.
