I was glad i'm not the only one that saw humor in the 'girls thing.' Xyro, in that case whats the estimate for WHOBO, or rather at least the trend since last time? As far as this weekend, i considered going but seeing as i got my *** whooped last time and dropped out of the scene...what was it... almost a year and a half ago, I'm seriously debating. then again nerves get me pretty bad when i'm in a clutch moment....

I didn't place well last HOBO I went, but man did I have fun.
I had fun WHILE playing brawl during the tournament (Thanks to Serious Cat for the LT entertainment, so many Zelda's spawning the area >.> ) and even after the tournament we had some MM's, so much POWERSTONE I swear my Dreamcast is having withdrawals, and just meeting new people and doing whatever is what HOBO is all about.

Despite having an extra 22 inch TV I can bring, I don't have a car so I will only be bringing my wii (on the bus).

This is gonna be my first tournament so I was wondering, what should I be bringing?

Is it common for people to yell at you during a match to break your concentration or was this just an isolated event I read about? Should I bring earphones or something?

How much money should I bring to this thing? Are there ATMs there if I get owned in too many money matches.

Dumb question but, do I bring the connectors with the 3 wires at the end or 5 for my wii, or does it not matter?

Lol bring plenty of money, idk where an ATM machine is but there might be one at Funplex (ask Xyro). Bring your cables with the 3 (red, white, yellow) connectors. I guess you could bring some earphones just in case, but people really only yell at hyped matches.

Just bring a controller and some money, aside from your Wii. As far as I know there aren't any ATMs around, just bring some money, and I wouldn't money match too many people, honestly, if this is your first tournament.

As far as yelling, nobody will purposely yell at you to break your concentration. You might hear some hype behind you, but you won't hear people going like "**** you, and i hope you **** up." If you get distracted or lose focus easy, bringing some headphones might be good.

You should have a good time. Just play a bunch of friendly matches, and meet some of the players, we're all nice people. And you're gonna wanna bring your AV cables, the yellow, white, and red ones.

Now that I have everyone else's attention, since SNO isn't going, I don't have a partner. Anyone else not have a partner who wants to kick some major *** with me?

If random people are hyping up your match and you want them to stop, just pause the match after someone loses a stock and just ask them politely to stop. But people hype matches to make them more fun, and some people actually do better, lol.

But if someone is just being plain rude and nasty to you, demand them to stop or go get Xyro...he'll make them stop. But this shouldn't happen. We're all pretty chill.

Bring lots of money.

This is to pay for the events/food/money matches and an emergency if something bad happens to you(it never will but its better to be safe than sorry).


Players like ozz bring ipods and stuff for music. It helps him focus. Give it a shot.

The nearest atm is at a CVS half a mile away.

Bring the cords that have just the yellow/white/red

I find myself being frugal at my first HOBO and I was major hungry even though I brought money.
If you belong in a carpool , make two to three round trips to the surrounding areas for food cus the food at the plex is good but it's kinda costly.

I think a chicken strip basket was like 6 bucks.....

But bring a set up, you'll get a free soda (I dunno if they still do that) and a pat on the back from xryo...trust me, any kind of christening from him means a lot haha..

I'll probably be supplying the livestream, but it really depends on Funplex's Internet/wireless. Their Internet is weird...it usually starts out crappy, then goes down for a few moments, then comes back and stays up for an extended period of time, and then randomly dies towards the end...so...yeah...and this is all assuming there will even be Internet access there.

But if one is made, I'll get a link posted ASAP. If all else fails, I'll just record vids.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT HOBO 23!!!


1. I will start HOBO at 12:30pm. Normally people show up late and i get kinda upset but ignore it. THIS TIME i will not tolerate it.....why? Flip can only stay for teams and he MUST leave by 6pm. Furbs can only stay for LT teams and has to leave by 8pm. So i have decided to run BOTH team events at the same time. USUALLY this would be a bad idea but since LT 2vs2 isnt MASSIVE it wont screw up time too much. There is no other way of doing it so it will be done this way. ACCEPT IT!.


2. Food. Nearly every HOBO, there is ALWAYS someone who takes 45min-60min to go eat food. They leave the venue or go down to the food court without telling the TO/me/allan sims/xyro/lesbot/green lesbian. Those days are over. The tourney starts at 12:30. You eat BEFORE the tourney or when i give you guys a 20min break(which would be around 2 or 3). If you leave to go get food without my permission(which is perfectly fine) then you will face the "Divine Punishment of the Legendary XYRO" when i call your name and you dont respond. aka you will get a DQ. I dont give a **** if you are jimbo or if you are ULTIMATE RAZER(you are the worlds worst about taking 70 hour lunch breaks). PLEASE dont test me, you will lose.


3. The new room. It is nearly the size of the WHOBO room(for those of you that went to whobo) and it is in a new part of funplex. As you walk in the MAIN ENTRY to funples, keep going straight untill you see MASSIVE stairs on the right and left leading up to the top floor. Once you are upstairs, you will see a MASSIVE mirror. Walk INTO that mirror and you will be teleported into "THA ZONE." If you get lost or are stupid, ask the people at the front desk or call me at 409-692-0697.


4. I went to Funplex today and set up 6 tables and 6 tvs for brawl. I still need another 6-8 tvs and 12-14 wii/ssbb. PLEASE help me out on this. As usual you will get a drink coupon for your efforts. This event can only go as fast as the number of set-ups we have. Also, if you bring a set-up, dont take it away when you get knocked out fo the tournament. That screws me/the tournament over. Have some BASIC respect, PLEASE.
