I think Phanna has a match-up chart somewhere...

Also, Sheik? Good? o_0

I have a lot of trouble with Sheik.

Sheik is Marth's worst match up. I hate playing Jigglypuff too, but that might just be me.

Bowser is easy to beat, I think... and Ganon is fairly easy too.

once again, you are fighting bad people, and not realizing this huge factor in your advice and letting it be your bias !=: )

On a larger note: marth combos everyone well, just in different ways.

For me, I struggle most against Sheik, Falcon, Jiggs and Ganon. I would include Fox and Falco in there, but I have played those match ups so many times that I don't really worry about them anymore. If you constantly stay just out of range of Peach and constantly pressure her, the match up becomes much easier.

As for easiest; most low tiers. Link and DK can be a real pain, but other than them Marth has a pretty decent advantage in every other match.

Marth's worst match-ups are Link and Sheik, both of whom are soft counters.

His best match-ups are Mewtwo and Bowser.

On my 5th 4 Loko and still ****** you.
You guys might disagree with me, but I think Doc and Falcon have an interesting match up versus Marth. Pretty much if both characters can get in with a grab, Marth has a lot to worry about. Easier said than done, but at least Doc has his pills for a slight back up (although against a good Marth it won't make much difference), and a great spotdodge!

^^But Falcon really has no approach.

Shiek is the only one with a true advantage over Marth.

Then he's got a bunch of even matches against the upper mid tiers and high (Gannon, Captain Falcon, Falco, ect.)

His best matchup is either Mewtwo or Bowser.

For some reason...i am bothered when i play a doc....i dont know why i know doc needs to get in close for attacks and marth relys on distance so it puts him at an advantage...but i manage to F it up.

My first tourney-I lost to a doc when i was Marth....i shouldve stock with my third best mario...because i was doing better him that day.... :-(

Sheik is probably Marth's worst matchup at high levels of play. It's hard to intercept her recovery without being swatted away by fair, and her ledge hop dair to uair absolutely destroys Marth at anywhere above 80%. Falco can be tough, as can Falcon, but if you know what you're doing with chain throws and edgeguarding then you can even it out.

I don't see how he's owning me all over these forums, but whatever.

I can't combo Jigglypuff, really. It's a pain.

You don't really combo Jigglypuff, so stop trying to. What you need to do for this matchup is get 1 or 2 hit combos a bunch of times, and then end with one of the Jiggly-slayers. F-throw to F-smash, Side B to up tilt, or just keep racking damage and tip a fair or uair. Just be wary of your spacing and stop trying to get early kills. The f-throw to f-smash stops working at about 80% (even with a pivoted F-smash), so after that just keep raking damage until a fair kills them.

@Bluedeath- Yeah, Falco can be a pain, but Fox seems easier to fight than Shiek (to me at least). It may just be that I live in Florida and thus don't have many Shieks to fight (it's all spacies here man), but Fox and Falco are much more fun for me. I think I just need more Shiek practice, because I'm still getting ***** by needle cancels and shield pressure games (jabbing/tilting on my shield and then chasing my roll). I don't have nearly as much trouble with Falco's shield pressure game, because I've got a few really good Falcos to practice against.

There's a good Marth Sheik match on youtube Ek (europe) vs Captain Jack might be older, but it's more informative from a matchup standpoint than the stupid on going discussion.

Yeah, that's mostly what I do, but Jigglypuff's like... an ominous threat. A slip up on my part can mean death in the form of Rest or WoP airguards. The inability to keep her in combos means that I reset to a neutral sort of position where either character can take the advantage each time I hit her.

Uhhh... why don't you uthrow instead of fthrow then? And wavedashing can help you catch her, since the running turn around is laggy.

Sonic wave, you'll still around?

Thats good to see that not all the decent marth players are long gone.

As for jigglypuff, when you get in grabs, do a set of same direction grabs such as f-throws and *attempt* to combo from it..so the jigglypuff will di for the f-throw..at mid %, when she tries to di it that way and you throw in a backthrow, she di-es into a near perfect tipper...things like that are jiggly's bane.
