I would have loved for Akechi to be an echo but it looks like that's not happening at this point. I still think it's possible that he is a spirit or something like that though. Maybe even a mii costume

The way we could get new Snake codecs is if none of them involve the colonel. Not sure whether they'd include them via DLC updates though.

Highly doubt it. Even if Joker is restricted to just Arsene, I don't think whatever they plan for Arsene in terms of moves won't translate to Robin Hood. There's also the matter of Akechi's fighting style being too different from Joker's.

Man I can go back to P5 this year, start a new playthrough and never get tired of getting pissed off at Kamoshida because that's how strong the beginning arc started off. Everything about the beginning was so damn well executed.

The one with the three guys on the couch is so close to my roommate's and I's reaction that it makes me smile. Breathless, sobbing, screaming. It's a feeling I'm never going to forget. I've been binging reaction videos and watching the Nintendo NYC reactions over and over. There's just such a joyous explosion that felt like nothing else. What a night to remember. Can't wait to play as him.

Binging reaction videos is all I'm doing now too haha. It's fun to watch everyone flip out - even people who aren't fans are still shocked because of the implications it has on the DLC.

I mean, if they do patch in new Codecs randomly, then I'd be shocked if they didn't do this. If Slippy Toad can hack into it, then I'm fairly certain Medjed could.

I'd rather represent a bunch of different protagonists, personally, but that does make me wonder: Do you think they'll change the colours of the persona(e) he summons as well? I don't know, as we've never really had a summon-based character before...

I'm still just... so happy. I've watched that trailer countless times. Persona 5 is part of my top five games of all time, I've been in the best mood since the announcement. And I still can't believe it.

What if the default mapping for Joker controls maps the gun attacks to the Y button? It would be a nice shout-out, and we know how detail oriented Sakurai can be when making characters.

Don't forget that Ultimate uses cel-shaded effects for everything, now it's easier to fit in P5 style into Joker's moveset.

I've definitely considered the possibility, but the long story short is that the Smash team is better than Smashified in every way, and if they can make Shulk have an art style similar to his original concept art while still fitting in Smash, Joker should be just fine. I'm pretty excited to how he turns out.

I think Ken/Ryu are definitely the right examples here. Their down-B looks very SF-esque, but it still fits into Smash very well.

Joker has broken into Smash to break out of your preconceived notions about what a viable Smash Brothers newcomer is!

If he just represents P5, probably the Phantom Thieves logo from their calling card. If it's Persona as a whole, Philemon's butterfly form. And if it's Shin Megami Tensei, maybe Jack Frost?

If this is like Cloud and he’s representing all of Persona, I’d agree with Hinata. If it was just Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves logo is a safe bet.

Can't believe it took me so long to drop in here.

Anyways, congrats to Joker supporters! Whenever the topic of pipe dream characters came up, Joker was something I would usually bring up when talking to friends. After a while, though, I reached a point where I truly thought he was beyond even a pipe dream, and kinda forgot about his Smash Bros. potential.

But then that reveal happened, and I got so excited that my glasses flung off my face and into a wall, lol. I was also desperately trying not to scream because it was super late where I was.
