Part of me wishes Jane wasn't datamined, both because it would be interesting to see the speculation around her if we didn't expect her to have Joker's powers and because she would probably have been called Bowtie-chan if her having a ponytail wasn't the interesting thing about her...

Her design is still fairly generic, but I do love her bowtie.

We are only getting one track and it's a song that plays during Social Links. We aren't getting Last Surprise or Life Will Change.

Oh. Gaming Intel, eh?

Dunno if I trust them. They were doing fine with a few correct dates (all of which they would announce hours before they were officially confirmed) until the November Smash Direct, which they claimed would be followed by another Nintendo Direct which never happened. Then they "leaked" a Janurary Direct, which they claimed happened because of the European Nindie showcase. AFIAK, they haven't "leaked" anything Nintendo since--skipping the February Direct and the March American Nindie Showcase.

Ahhhhh, this would make sense. They have a website they post their "leaks" on and assumedly get advertising revenue from it. It's a gross practice regardless of accuracy TBH--making money off of leaking private information is not-great.

They should be colors based on the others Phantom Thieves, im not buying that "Jane" stuff.

11th does sound plausible as it's on a Thursday, though it being a Nintendo direct as opposed to a full-on Smash direct confuses me unless they combine both and/or think Joker's gameplay reveal, the 3.0 update and maybe the next DLC fighter will just be mentioned in brief passing. Nonetheless I'll be on the lookout during the 11th. Still it would be amusing if Joker's gameplay reveal was shown on the 11th considering the importance of that date in-game lol.

That's what I wanted in the first place, but with new girl supposedly being an alt: I guess I am fine if Joker gets alts based on the male PTs while new girl gets alts based on the female PTs ala what they do with Robin and Corrin.

If this is the case, I am curious as to which Phantom Thieves they will choose to represent. Unless they decide to give Joker 10 alts, 2 PT members will have to be left behind, presumably one male and one female.

If 2 PTs would have to be left behind to be referenced: I'd say Mona and Oracle would be the ones to be omitted. Mona because his colors would be redundant with Joker's default color scheme (as the only change would be the gloves) while Oracle is only a support character. Unless they omit Crow from the PT lineup, (which they should) which would then leave room for a Mona or Oracle palette.

I will not deny that Crow's colors would be nice on Joker if only for the contrasting look, and it would give the rabid Akechi fanboys/girls something to gawk over...assuming they won't be ******** about him not being an actual alt that is...

Ugh part of me still wishes Joker didn't have a possible female alt so that his Smash inclusion wouldn't be possibly tied to Atlus' upcoming projects (which could be why he's taking so long to reveal) and so that he could have gotten alts on all the PTs instead with no one being left behind except maybe Crow.

Pancake boy. The suit would make for a good contrasting alt and it's the outfit he specifically wore as a Phantom Thief, which would be the theme of the Joker alts.

Mystic thinks a 4/25 release date is probable for Joker as he believes Nintendo/Sakurai are coordinating with Atlus and the latter wouldn't just let the former off the hook, even for a DLC.

Eh personally I would prefer his alts be based on his fellow PTs. Seeing as the crossover is solely on P5 and not the rest of the Persona/SMT series, I don't want the others "piggybacking" on P5's newfound rise in popularity/relevance via Smash. Plus part of me is freaking sick of Yu Narukami and anything in his image plaguing anything remotely related to Persona.

I don't know, just the idea of a group of cool teenagers traveling around in a van along with an animal mascot sounds very Scooby doo like. I like to imagine they went off to solve mysteries after the game ended

It could be a Nintendo Direct "featuring news on Joker and the 3.0 update," with ~10 minutes of Smash news.

It's worth remembering that Persona lacks a series logo, so the debut trailer saying "Smash Brothers x Persona 5" doesn't really mean that it is only a Persona 5 crossover--in fact, the press release explicitly mentioned how Persona is a SMT sub-series (which is weird, as most say that Persona is a MegaTen sub-series, but not a Shin Megami Tensei sub-series).

Going back to me hoping they reveal Joker this week: Assuming "Jane" is the new girl and is an alt, do you think they could do something like show Joker's trailer, gameplay, etc. then end his section with showing/hinting at the "Jane" alt and saying that players will just have to wait and find out more when Joker releases? That way they can reveal his trailer this week, then release him after the 24-25 Persona concert.
