Public Domain Kart Racer but designed with the intent of sending the game to another universe where none of the characters exist and trying to pass it off as a non-crossover cast who could feasibly work well mixed together as a weird yet charming ensemble cast that could appear in later games, something to rival Mario.

1. Mickey Mouse
2. Minnie Mouse
3. Rhea (Mickey's bird from Gallopin Gauncho, who essentially replaces Pluto as mickey's pet in this new universe)
4. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
5. Big Bad Pete
6. Felix the Cat
7. Gertie the Dinosaur
8. Dan Backslide
9. Bibendium
10. Rapunzel
11. Snow Queen
12. Nosferatu
13. Cowardly Lion
14. Sun Wukong
15. Thor
16. Anubis

By all means please overthink the implications of this list I spontaneously created.

I feel like Popeye would fit really well here.

(Also, would Wizard of Oz not exist in this new universe or would it just not have the Lion?)

SSBU stages as 1P DLC content
Stages would be released alongside characters, based on first party games, to appeal to fans who may be isolated by the shift towards third party content. All of them represent either a new series or sub-series.
  1. Joker - Awazon River Basin (Virtual Boy Wario Land - sole retro-aesthetic stage)
  2. Hero - Shin Onigashima (Shin Onigashima - sole whole-game-based stage, with Japanese scroll aesthetic)
  3. Banjo & Kazooie - Clu Clu Land (Clu Clu Land)
  4. Terry - Exhibition Match (Rhythm Heaven: Fever)
  5. Byleth - Big Brain Academy (Big Brian Academy)
  6. Min Min - Excitebike Circuit (Excitebike)
  7. Steve - Fossil Stadium and Ancient World (Fossil Fighters)
  8. Sephiroth - Anceint Greece (Glory of Heracles)
  9. Pyra/Mythra - Elemental Lighthouses (Golden Sun)
  10. Kazuya - The Mysterious Murasame Castle (The Mysteious Murasame Castle, neon aesthetic like famicom box art)
  11. Sora - Bowser Party (Mario Party 10 - Bowser's Castle stage with Mario Party-themed hazards)

Such a funny idea, it gives me the same vibes of the Diddy Kong Racing cast, for some reason. An ensemble made with mostly random characters that, somehow, works. It's be interesting to see which tracks they would race on, at this point.
I think that, if I were drawn just by these characters without knowing their origin, I'd probably play either as Minnie Mouse or as Thor

Well folks, Kart Racers are having a comeback, so I'm gonna be making a lot of rosters for them, starting with everyone's favorite yellow ball, PAC-MAN!

The goal of this game is to be somewhat of a spiritual sequel to Pac-Man World Rally and the Namco content in Mario Kart Arcade GP. As such, Namco guest content is in very high supply, to the point you could probably call it "Namco All-Stars Racing". Pac-Man will still have the most content based around it by a landslide though. Characters abandoned due to legal issues will be included. Generally, the game is free to use any characters from all eras of the franchise. Namco characters from more realistic franchises are portrayed in a similar style to the Mr. Driller games.

Welcome to PAC-MAN Rally Racers!

  1. Pac-Man
  2. Ms. Pac-Man
  3. Jr. Pac-Man
  4. Pac-Baby
  5. Professor Pac-Man

  45. Arcade Cabinet Pac-Man

And that's the roster! Had a blast figuring out which characters to include, might do DLC, tracks, karts, items, all that stuff later honestly, this was really fun. Let me know what you think of my picks and if I left any fun characters out.
More Pac-Man Rally Racers stuff, this time, karts!

Much like Mario Kart, karts can be based on about anything, not everything is a reference to a Namco thing, but a decent few are. A few karts are also here to act as "signature" karts for select characters but not every character has one either.

Like the CTR remake, you can give your kart paintjobs, any colors mentioned below are the default.

  • Pac-Standard - The Standard Kart of the game, takes inspiration from the Standard Kart in the MKGP games.
  • Retro Royale - a Yellow Sportscar with black stripes on the sides that actual play animated sprites from Pac-Man on them.
  • Suite Ride - A Cadillac inspired by Ms. Pac-Man's Kart in World Rally. Has a big bow on the back.
  • Wind-Up Wheeler - A Wind-Up Toy Car that acts as Jr. Pac-Man's signature kart.
  • Super Stroller - a Baby Stroller inspired Kart that acts as Pac-Baby's signature kart.
  • Old School Cool - a Silver Arrow inspired Kart that acts as Professor Pac-Man's signature.
  • Big Bomber - a Missile shaped kart inspired by Blinky's kart from World Rally.
  • Froghopper - a Frog shaped kart inspired by Clyde's robot from World 2.
  • Spooky Scooter - a Vespa inspired Kart designed to act as Pinky's signature.
  • Bruise Ship - a Speedboat inspired Kart designed to act as Inky's signature.
  • Sky Baron - a Biplane inspired kart based on Blinky's special kart from MKGP2.

  • Skull-1 - A Skull shaped kart.
  • Fish Bowl - a Fish Bowl inspired Kart.

Based for Pig Ganon, Anna, Kumatora, Meowth, Genesect, Tom Nook, Yuka, Marina, Dragaux, Mini-Kangaroo, POPEYE, SOPHIA III, Hornet…really this whole thing would be great to start with, at the very least, and I would love to try out every single newcomer choice, as well as see if the veterans handle in different ways.

Ok, time for the grand finale, the tracks!
I'll be doing a standard "4 cups, with 4 tracks each" system. In addition, I'll throw in some battle tracks at the end. I'll also throw in Ghost data racers to really make sure I have no excuse to make another post for this game.

  • Chomp University - A simple course designed to introduce the mechanics of the game. Set in a college campus with Professor Pac-Man iconography all-around. I wanted to do something different than a traditional circuit theme, and a college felt like a fun angle to take it. (Ghost Data: Professor Pac-Man)
  • Pirate's Paradise - A coastal track inspired by the first world in Pac-Man World. Takes some inspiration from Crash Cove from CTR. (Ghost Data: Pinky)
  • Cloud Gardens - Based on the starting track from World Rally, it's not a straight port, and has a fully original layout. (Ghost Data: Pooka)
  • Rally Ridge - A mountain-side track that uses iconography from namco's various racing titles. (Reiko Nagase)
  • Pac-Circuit - A track touring through Pac-Land, with sections based on locations from Pac-Land, the game. (Ghost Data: Pac-Man)
  • Festival Rush - A Taiko no Tatsujin track going through some Drum Festival grounds. Giant bouncy drums act as platforms on the track. (Ghost Data: Don-chan)
  • Bow City - A large Metropolis themed to Ms. Pac-Man. The centerpiece is a roundabout with a Ms. Pac-Man statue in the center. References to series like Tekken and Mappy are also present. (Ghost Data: Ms. Pac-Man)
  • Mirage Oasis - A desert track based on the location of the same name from Pac-Man Party. (Ghost Data: Patra)
  • Avalance Downhill - A Snowy track inspired by a level from World 2. (Ghost Data: Clyde)
  • Drill Land - A themepark track based on Drill Land from Mr. Driller: Drill Land. (Ghost Data: Mr. Driller)
  • Inksea Aquarium - A track set in an aquarium run by Inky. It's a very lively course with lots of sealife. (Ghost Data: Inky)
  • Ghost World - A track set in the Ghost World, sorta designed to be a Bowser's Castle analog. (Ghost Data: Blinky)
  • Gearshift Getaway - A factory themed level with Orson/Toc-Man theming, implied to be under renovations. (Ghost Data: Toc-Man)
  • Tower of Druaga - Based on the Tower of Druaga, a very vertical track. (Ghost Data: Gilgamesh)
  • Galactic Highway - Set in space, this track is largely based on Galaga/Galaxian with light references to other space shooters. (Ghost Data: Gyaruga)
  • Retrodome - The final, most difficult track in the game, set in a dome with a bunch of Championship Edition inspired visuals. (Ghost Data: Arcade Cabinet Pac-Man)
  • Block Town - Based on the maze from Pac-Mania.
  • Pizza Plaza - Set atop a giant pizza.
  • Sky Arena - Set in the clouds with a biplane dogfight above.
  • Pac-Maze - Based on the classic maze.
  • Katamari Park - Based on the Katamari series.
  • Splatterhouse - Based on Splatterhouse, but reimagined as a paintball course.

In light of MartianSnake's interesting take on a Pac-Man racer, I may as well go for something in a not dissimilar mould; a(nother) sequel to Konami Krazy Racers. Ideally, it'd be nice to maintain a similar kind of vibe, just for a modern era; but in keeping with tradition, I'll have a mix of eclectic picks as well as returning and new characters (to specifically the Krazy Racing subseries, not Wai Wai as a whole.)

Konami Krazy RacersKrazy Kart RacingNewcomers (Konami)Newcomers (Hudson)
Dracula
Castlevania

dracula.png
I reckon Dracula's one of the faces of this series, and with good reason. A heavyweight and villainous presence is always fun to have around.
Ally Spark: Death
Frogger
Frogger

frogger.png

Sort of ironic that he'd go from getting hit by cars to driving one... he's based on his classic arcade look this time around to shake things up.

Ally Spark: Heavy Truck
TwinBee
TwinBee

twinbee.png

Felt like a solid pick. Pastel was in the first game, but I'll take a Vic Viper approach and have TwinBee playable this time.

Ally Spark: GwinBee
Pretty Bomber
Bomberman

bomber.png

The lead female character in the Bomberman series, I think she's a neat unorthodox pick - weirder picks work well in this series.

Ally Spark: Plasma Bomber
Nyami
Pop'n Music

nyami.png
I'd be remiss not to represent Bemani here somehow or other, and Nyami's a pretty fun pick. She's based on her UniLab look for recency's sake.
Ally Spark: Dino
Pentarō
Dream Penguin Story / Parodius

pentaro.png

Sort of a replacement for Tako as a Parodius character, but also one with pedigree of his own - being derived from games like Antarctic Adventure.

Ally Spark: Tako
Psycho Mantis
Metal Gear Solid

mantis.png

Gray Fox was a cool pick in the first game, and MGSV Mantis seems neat. It'd be cute if he had little objects floating around his head.

Ally Spark: Liquid Snake
Momotarō
Momotarō Densetsu

momotaro.png

A bit of an obscure pick, but a fan-favourite in Japan. He's in his train-driver attire, in line with recent appearances and associations.

Ally Spark: God of Poverty
Moai
Gradius

moai.png

Our first unlockable character, and one that might seem weird, but I think is pretty smart. (It's also just pretty funny.)

Ally Spark: Option
Robbie Rabbit
Silent Hill

robbie.png

Silent Hill's big enough to feature, but I think Robbie's in this neat position where he doesn't feel out of place despite being really recognisable.

Ally Spark: Split Worm
Shiori Fujisaki
Tokimeki Memorial

shiori.png

Another unlockable character who just makes too much sense. That aside, it also fits her infamous difficulty in her home series.

Ally Spark: Saki Nijino
Zonk
Bonk

zonk.png

I'd also be remiss not to include a TurboGrafx rep, and Zonk feels like a cool pick for that. He's also just really cool. Air Zonk is neat. Yeah.

Ally Spark: Bonk

As for tracks, I suppose they'll be a little more in line with modern kart racers. No particular gimmick comes to mind, but I'll do a simple tracklist regardless. (Note that the Wai Wai Cup is dedicated to representing other stuff that's not otherwise featured, specifically pulling from the rest of the Wai Wai series.)
