Smash Journeyman
He said bold predictions, not necessarily a leak. To me, that's about as believable as Lebron going to the Lakers this year. Sorry, not buying it.
But I do love the idea of it.

If only. I wish Nintendo would make and release more copies of Xenoblade. Again, it's a shame that it was a limited release in one retailer only. You left out the part where everyone rushes to Gamestop to buy the rest of the over priced "used" Xenoblade stock.
If they say he's third-party tell them he's first-party as much as Mario, Samus, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Captain Falcon, Marth and more. Here's how to kill the arguments against Shulk.
If they say he's too new tell them to see Roy in Melee.
If they say he's not relevant tell them to see Xenoblade and X possibly being sequel to Xenoblade.
If they say he's too niche tell them to see Ness/Lucas.
I'd prefer if Metal Face was a boss. I guess I would pick Seven as the second rep. Feels like a tough decision. I think the cast is all unique thoughHow do you guys feel about a playable Metal Face if Shulk is confirmed?
Disappointed, mostly because Metal Face would be boss material and I would be livid if he got in but one of the other characters in my signature didn't.How do you guys feel about a playable Metal Face if Shulk is confirmed?
A second Xenoblade rep would be awesome! But not Metal Face,Disappointed, mostly because Metal Face would be boss material and I would be livid if he got in but one of the other characters in my signature didn't.
If I really want a second Xenoblade rep, which chances of getting a second one are pretty low, it would be Reyn.
Metal Face wouldn't work that well. There are many better choices. How do you guys feel about a playable Metal Face if Shulk is confirmed?
Yeah, it's just he is too big and there are better characters.Something about a playable resized Metal Face strikes me as something fun to play as. Maybe it's because the personality given to him. It would be equally as awesome as PTX-40A in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
Giga Bowser in Project M is a good conception to start with.It would be interesting to have giant characters in Smash, but I'm not sure how you could make them work (and if they do it, it should be Kraid).
It could work. The issue with Giga Bowser is he'd be broken in a 4 player battle. The opposite issue is that if he's not strong enough, how can he compare to the smaller faster characters. You'd have to have some flinch resistance.Giga Bowser in Project M is a good conception to start with.
It's this kind of talk that makes me wish for some sort of Boss Smash mode where you could take control of Boss characters in a 1v1 or something >.>It could work. The other this is how do you get the character to work on stages with platforms.
Shulk dies at the end.Let's all avoid spoilers, eh? I'm still working my way through the game. Just beat the Metal Face in Colony 6, so i'm not too far yet.
Well I don't know about that bleak look-out of the Wii U in general, but I do agree that promoting "X" via Shulk is a great way to get people thinking "hey, there's great JRPG's on this console" relatively early on in the system's life-span.I would actually be really surprised if Sakurai didn't make Shulk a playable character. Not only because I can't think of a single good reason to exclude Shulk, but also because Nintendo would be missing a huge opportunity to promote the upcoming X, which aside from Smash 4 and Mario Kart 8, is probably one of the few last hopes for Wii U.
Well I think it'd be hard for any of us on the thread to hide the bias we have about this character, but...WIth how niche Xenoblade is and how big X is going to most likely be for the console, Shulk in Smash for representation of the upcoming game alone seems like enough to get him in. My bias is showing though
I suppose that's true. I'm glad Sakurai is aware of Xenoblade, but with how much of a workaholic he is, I doubt he's played it to completion, which is what I think one needs in order to put together a unique Shulk moveset. The inclusion will only be bad if it's handled poorly.
He should consult Monolith Soft then.I suppose that's true. I'm glad Sakurai is aware of Xenoblade, but with how much of a workaholic he is, I doubt he's played it to completion, which is what I think one needs in order to put together a unique Shulk moveset.
From what I hear and I guess from what I've seen in the games, he does pretty good research on characters, but there is still that difference between having someone explain the moves to you and having 1st hand experience with them you know?He should consult Monolith Soft then.
That's true but Sakurai has worked on a huge variety of characters and if he does his research I have faith he'll be able to do right by Shulk. From what I hear and I guess from what I've seen in the games, he does pretty good research on characters, but there is still that difference between having someone explain the moves to you and having 1st hand experience with them you know?
