yeah Robin was my 2nd biggest hope for smash so I can't complain

I think Chrom is just part of Robin's final smash. I re-watched the reveal, and Robin says, "Are you ready Chrom?" Before he appears and they both attack.

Chrom is an alt, Lucina is her own character, and Robin is a newcomer. Captain is returning.

I kind of think the Gematsu leaker still is legit, just that he only really had access to early documents. Which would be good news for Shulk at least!

I'm happy Robin is in and I'll keep my hopes up for Shulk. This ain't over yet!

Yeah, maybe Shulk wasn't announced today.
But we can say two things now:
- Shulk stll has a high-enough chance, yet...
- Gematsu is deconfirmed.
Also, Robin and Lucina are amazing. Robin was the FE magic rep we needed, and Lucina is NOT a Marth clone, since she concentrates on fencing, while Marth uses the tip of his blade, but still slashes. And Chrom is a pair up FS, which is cool, I guess.

I don't think I've ever quite experienced this mixture of pleasant surprise, and that feeling of having been trolled by a master. Shulkurai truly is a god-slayer tier troll.

Even if the Gematsu leak is dead, I think that Shulk is playable. He may have been Back Slashed, but he wasn't annihilated at all. If anything, he's probably the most plausible remaining Gematsu character left.

That said, all signs would seem to point to Shulk, and even if it isn't him, it's nearly all but confirmed that he's in anyways, so.... congrats either way! Must be nice to have one of your most wanted so close to being confirmed... must be nice... *wistful sigh*

I know we all said we wouldn't be disappointed, but it's hard not to be. Yes i'm excited for Lucina and Robin, but Chrom being a final smash means the Gematsu leak is dead. And to be honest the only reason most people assumed Shulk was because of the leak. I know pretty much everyone is probably ecstatic that the leak is dead, but now my most wanted newcomer went from a dream to all but confirmed and is now going back down to just a dream. I knew I shouldn't of gotten that hyped. Lucina looks cool at least... 'sigh'

Wow, just spent the past forty minutes catching up with this thread. Dear lord you guys post a lot. :b

Good thing I held no expectations going in, or else I might have been really depressed during that awesome trailer. As it stands, I'm sad Shulk isn't confirmed, but l'm really happy to see Robin and Lucina in SSB4. Future changers all over the place...guess I can't really blame Shulk for bowing out today. Three against one is so unfair.

Hmm, i'm really wondering about Lucina. The site and the trailer acts like she is her own character, but ALL of her attacks and animations are literally just Marths.

Well I'm glad that at least for the time being we aren't being attacked by a bunch of "I told you so's" haha. Thought I might have to leave this thread for a bit >.>

Personally I actually do feel less confident about Shulk's odds now, but prior to this hype generate by the Tweet and all that, I actually did always think that IF he was to be in, he'd be a secret character because of his relatively niche role, so honestly I'm not giving up hope till our friends in Japan get it and reveal all the secrets.

I think it's because there's so much overwhelming evidence. It's easy to see Shulk is in. Too easy.

Remember when I said this? Too. Easy. Sakurai wouldn't reveal a character if everybody thinks they can predict him. I think when the Palutena leak came around, Sakurai completely ignored her for the longest time because people saw her coming.

Edit: Still really hyped for Robin and Shulk. Just glad I kept some skepticism in reserve.

I'm really happy for Lucina and Robin...

...but I can't say I'm not disappointed. I am a bit. I was really hoping for Shulk. And now the Gematsu leak was also debunked. Not that the leak should be an indication of anything, but it gave hope for Shulk. I just really hope he still makes it.

As I'm sure most of ya know, the leaker e-mailed me last night teasing Shulk.

He also e-mailed me again this morning saying Nintendo keeps a lot secret from Bandai Namco, and that Sakurai may change his mind as he does all the time, but that Shulk was 100%.

A quote: "I only know what has been done, not what or when they will be made available. Sakurai may change his mind, and he does all the time. Shulk will not be changed."

I've e-mailed him about the lack of Shulk, as well as the whole Chrom being a Final Smash thing. I'll update if I get a response.

Still finding it hard to believe. 8 for 11 is no easy task. I wonder what he has to say.

I've seen the trailer again and I just noticed that Chrom is probably not a character, bummer I really wanted to play as him. Lucina looks like a clone of Marth which sorta makes sense I guess, we still haven't seen her full moveset so I won't jump to conclusions. As for Robin his/her play style looks really intereting. Ive already seen limited specials on other fighting games but this is a first for smash. Finally guys, don't let this get you down, remember there's still more trailers to show before release.

So by the sound of it, Shulk was expected and the trailer was prepared but they switched it for the Robin+Lucina one as a last second decision?

Truth be told, I'm happy that the Gematsu leak is not 100% true. But unfortunately, the only thing that I liked in that leak was Shulk's presence. Too bad this leak wasn't deconfirmed after Shulk's confirmation . But don't let you down ! I'm sure that Shulk is in^^
