Was expecting Shulk, but...
I am surprisingly OK with this.
I was praying the entire time that it wouldn't be Chrom.
So, we have a Chrom alt and a Lucina alt.
And Robin (who I wanted) is the new FE character.
I am OK with this. Glad I didn't get my hype up too much this time, but I'm still pretty happy with what happened.

But even though through all the hype with the reveal of these 2 newcomers.

My epitome of hype today came from the almighty gloriousness of Captain Falcon and his HD awesomeness.

I actually loved this reveal. Sakurai knew that Lucina and Chrom would be clones, so he made them Marth and Ike alts instead. And Robin is a very unique character, so kudos to him. I still believe in Shulk, though.

EDIT: Also, HD CAPTAIN FREAKIN' FALCON. ALL MY YES AND MONEY FOREVER, SAKURAI.

Anyway... I ain't even mad. I've always wanted Robin in Smash but think he'd have no chance against Chrom or Lucina's insane popularity.

I honestly thought that the green attack things were Shulk's Monado Purge. Dang it all.
But I'm actually OK with this. I mean seriously, Lucina AND Robin (Female Robin, heck YES!)

Like I've said a few times, I was either looking at expectations being fulfilled, or genuine surprise. And Robin is my second most wanted character so I mean... hell yeah!! Only thing that worries me is that this pretty much debunks Gematsu...

I love Shulk, but the only thing that actually gave me a thought that he had a chance was gematsu.

When Lucina said, "What is this power?"

I totally expected to hear Shulk say, "This is the power of the Monado!" While walking out of the smoke.

Then... when Captain Falcon was getting ready to Falcon Pawnch her, I thought it was going to turn into a vision and Shulk was going to alter it... rofl.

Chrom is an alt, Lucina is her own character, and Robin is a newcomer. Captain is returning.

That's like exactly how monado purge looks in the game! Exactly! There are no good shots or video on the internet of monado purge, but if you go in game and use the art from a distance you can clearly see.
