I wouldn't put too much faith in the "day before the Fire Emblem Anniversary" stuff. I'd put more faith in the "exactly two months before Smash launches and roughly a month since E3" logic. There is still hope for Shulk.

I'd say only Chorus Men could 100% confirm Shulk or Chrom. Both Chrom and Shulk have excellent chances regardless of the leak.

Well, I agree, but look at my previous post about what I meant when I said that. Atleast there is no doubt in my mind that Shulk will be in smash even if he isn't revealed on monday.

I seriously can't think of many other possibilities. This time I'm actually halfway expecting Shulk. I say halfway because I don't wanna cry myself a river if I put 100% in him and he's a no-show.

Melia. I can't have been the only one who wanted Fiora to die so that Melia could be with Shulk... I didn't really like Fiora as a character, and I Ioved Melia. The game kinda led me on to think that that's what would happen at the end because Melia clearly had feelings for shulk, and Fiora was dying after Meyneth and her monado's power left her.

Well, as much as I don't like bringing up FFVII, I had a similar thing with Shulk and Fiora than I did with Cloud and Tifa. They were friends since they were children and had feelings for each other according to Dunban. And that along with everything else that happened to Melia honestly made her one of my favorite characters in an RPG. Not getting with Shulk was only the icing on the cake. Almost being assassinated by command of her step mother, seeing her father die right in front of her, watching her entire race transform into Telethia, having to kill her own brother to take Lorithia down. Every time she came out stronger than before and accepted it. I personally love how that all worked out. Just my $0.02 though, because I don't see much support for ShulkxFiora, and that was part of what made Melia one of my favorites.

Like I said in the new character reveal thread, it's obviously going to start with Snake being over whelmed by Metal Gear Rex only for him to be bailed out by Shulk and the Mechon busting power of the Monado

Still though, whatever happens, I hope we see the Monado first, it revs up, and YWKON starts playing. And then we see Shulk.

So Sakurai saying "We've about reached the bottom of the barrel for newcomer trailers" confirms a couple things to me.

1. Sakurai's taste is terrible if any trailer he can come up with for Shulk is more "bottom of the barrel" than WFT's

2. Three more newcomers is probably exactly what we've got coming. Any more sounds wishful with that statement.

Well, I'm back from vacation and have resumed my Xenoblade playthrough. I've recently recruited Riki (who is just awesome). And I'm enjoying the game much more now that I have him.

Shulk's trailer would easily take the cake of all the newcomers so far, regardless of bias. 3 minutes of Xenoblade goodness? That music selection? If not the biggest, would be one of the biggest announcements so far? C'mon son.

My first point was more tongue-in-cheek than a serious assessment. All in good fun, plus I like WFT.

As for the second, you're right that we technically can't say what's what, but not counting DLC, I don't think we should expect anything more than what we "know" about.

The only newcomer with a 3 minutes trailer is Lady Palutena. A trailer focused in her customizable moveset. Then I can totally see Shulk's trailer focused in his customizable appearance if this mechanic is in the game.
