Orthostatic hypotension AKA Headrushes are the topic of this thread

like when you stand up quickly after laying on a couch or w/e for a long time and then get all dizzy.

i think headrushes are kinda fun, one time i was watching anime on my couch for a while, laying on my back and i decided to go get a snack. so i get up and run to the pantry, and then i get all dizzy. like everything blacks out and it feels like im flying and i lose conciousness for a little bit, its like... a half-faint and it feels kinda cool. then im like... how'd i get here? what am i doing at the pantry? oh yea... i need me some nachos.

i seriously get headrushes alot, like even after just slouching on the couch and stuff. what about you guise? anyone on smashboards get headrushes? any stories to tell?

You should eat more iron, I think. Go find a railing or something.

I used to get a lot more head rushes, don't get them so much anymore. I actually don't like them very much. They just get in my way. Then again, they aren't the worst thing.

jolly old england. hohoho.
I never used to have them but in the last couple of years I've become slightly anaemic =/

I hate the feeling. I get a headrush every morning when I get out of bed. On the bright side they're not so bad that I blackout like you lol. You should probably see a doctor...

Eat some vitamin C/red meat/cereals/whatever vegetables contain iron.

i had a medical procedure done that required me to go under anesthesia (sp?), and before it knocked me out it felt like a headrush

other than that, i do get them a lot when I stand up after a long period time

There's a couch in our house that gives me a headrush after about an hour of sitting. The funny thing is it's down stairs so I end up being halfway up the stairs when i get one. Everything goes black and it feels like I'm falling.

I use headrushes as a meter to determine if I've been watching t.v. to long.

It happens to me every couple of days. I don't black out, but my vison gets all fuzzy and I get dizzy as well. :dizzy: I have to stop where I am and sit down on the floor for a second to make it go away.

I don't like it AT ALL. I don't see how you could like it TC. :ohwell:

I used to get these more often, and I hate them with a passion. Whenever it happens I have to sop myself and hold onto a wall and stare at the floor to make it go away. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me dizzy...

I get these all the time, it's so annoying, everything just goes dark so I have to slow down or I'll fall over [happened once].

I get headrushes whenever I get up after watching a whole bunch of anime, or after playing a video game for a while. I'll feel kinda dizzy when I first get up, then after about 10 meters, everything goes black like I'm blind, and I don't know where I am for those few seconds. (((( ;゚Д゚)))

I get these every now and then, especially when it's hot out. It's sorta fun, but I start falling over when it happens, and almost faint. I really wanna just pass out once for the experience though.

I get a throbbing in my head here and then, but nothing as serious as everybody else seems to be making it sound like.

I've gotten some of those color pixel illusions. I have no idea what they're called though. If I push on a certain part of the flesh around my eye I can make it so I see a blue circle. Just a strange, but true sorta thing.
