Has Samus's jab gotten relatively worse since last year?

Some people on GameFAQs are bashing it as a bad attack, and I'm like wtf it's one of the better jabs.

Last I remember (during the first few months of Brawl), her neutral A was an extremely useful attack. So is he just ignorant or have times changed?

The only bad thing about Samus' jab is the lack of hitstun. It has some very nice priority and hitbox. Link's f-tilt against Samus' jab clanks. Charizard's Rock Smash clanks against Samus' jab. Snake's jab clanks with Samus' jab.

Do not use Samus's second jab unless the opponent is airborne.. she has no hitstun and the move itself kinda sucks. First jab can be canceled into better options like ftilt or dtilt, w/e.

its good for chaining into dtilt and dsmash imo though....
its not the greatest jab out there, however, i wouldn't say its bad... dtilt chains pretty effectively most of the time, especially when the first jab catches the opponent in the air, and the first jab comes out relatively fast...

the second jab sucks though :p unless you have the opponent in a wall juggle or something... @.@

That's true. It's also useful to use both the initial and second jab if you land f-air on a grounded opponent, though there can be a possibility of shielding. The initial jab to a d-tilt is an almost guaranteed hit if your opponent is also in the air.

There was a video a while back showing why it sucks, two samus players rapidly jabbing eachother. It has no stun which makes it pretty much useless.

Gamefaqs; there is your reason. Not to be harsh or anything, but half the people on there are ******** kids. Just try and look for a decent topic. You should find one in about 10 pages.

Gamefaqs actually has some pretty good players on it, and your saying that they are wrong too, which isn't true.

i RARLEY get jab to d tilt anymore due to the calibur of the player, sometimes tap to dashgrab or pivot grab works ;)
are you sure? maybe your just not using it in the right situations...? I can still pull it off fairly well against high level players... at least in my experience...

I still think her jab to dtilt is a good move...

The second jab of a series does 7% damage
the dtilt does 14% damage...
so as far as I'm concerned if the dtilt hits over 50% of the time than the jab hit does it is a more viable move...
which I think it does... I know it doesn't hit as much as the jab jab combo but it still hits fairly often if you don't get too predictable with it...
plus the dtilt has more range, and puts the opponent in a better spot usually, it has many situations where it hits well too... (and more knockback ^^)

the only time I really use the jab jab combo is in situations where I'm trying not to be as predictable with other jab combos, when I'm hitting someone into a wall, or when I am trying to regenerate my dtilt bc the opponent is nearing ko percentages... but I use jab to dtilt as sort of a starter... I guess just some thoughts on it ^^

Usually, if I get the opportunity I jab to dtilt like Hive was saying.
If I need something to quickly get them away I'll do AA, just to give me enough time to do something else.
But a lot of stuff chain's out of dtilt so that's the better choice.
It sucks that she has a jab lock, and nothing of her's really sets up nicely into it. (AKA like Link's, his boomerang is a pretty good starter for a jab lock.)

No that's not what I said. What I said is that if you go on Gamefaq's board and look around, most of it is just spam and worthless topics. And I'm not talking about the Brawl board, I'm talking about the whole Gamefaqs forum.

I'm fully aware that there are mature people, and good players on Gfaqs, I never said the opposite. But just take 5 minute of your time and go browse the forums on there. Even if you find good topics, you'll realise half the posts in them are people saying stupid, useless comments. And that's the main reason I stopped going there and came to Smashboards.

At Gfaqs you laugh more, at Smashboards you learn more (and laugh more if you're on the Samus boards).

Lets not turn this in a GFAQ vs SB war, since the GFAQ vs Gamespot war still isn't solved ;p

On topic: first jab = win lololololo

Someone CPed Corneria on me the other day, and I got them into a (pseudo) wall lock against the fin. He got out with a dolphin slash, though, so it's not a true lock. It may work against characters that don't have a fast enough move to get out, though.

Sorry if this is known; it's just something I noticed with her jab.

Yeah, that was not the point really, sorry if I offended anyone. I'm just saying generally, I find much more valuable information/opinions on here. Perhaps I went too far, and I apologize.

On topic, I'm personnaly not too fond of her jab. I've tried jab cancelling too, but most of the time my opponent has the time to shield. To me it's pretty much a last resort move, if the opponent gets too close.

the trick to the jab is to use it once, for interrupting, and not follow it up, unless they're in the air. sometimes its a good idea to follow it up, but most of the time, don't.
its a great move for turning back a chain of assaults
