I never said they had to persist forever, I'm just saying that they're part of what made dk and the rest of his buddies so famous and recognizable in the first place and really, dk and diddy ARE apes, it only makes sense for them to sound like some, however I'm good with their other voices from the n64 days as well. The fact that people disrespect these characters original traits but like how they are now and then call themselves real fans is totally contradicting to me which is what I hate is all I'm saying.Oh geez dont pull that crap. Doesnt mean we have to want those voices to persist forever. It would be like saying we arent fans if we dont want yoshi to only have super mario world noises coming out of him instead of his established voice we have now.
Im a fan of all these characters, and bowser most of all. Id like it for them to at least convey some sort of feeling within this game through their voices especially the ones we are most familiar with as of now (pits getting his new voice so why not?). The monster sfx are limited to a degree, they can only do so much.
Lmao! I was not ready for this!Scooby Kong's the best DK voice.
YAHEEE!
People like to have a false sense of superiority over the other people that have the same interests as them, happens all the time. What's all this "true fan" nonsense that keeps being spouted anyway? It all comes down to "anyone who doesn't agree with me isn't a true fan!" sort of things.
From what I've been able to hear, he kinda sounds like his Mario Kart Wii voice. I'm not 100% sure, though. :/So...does Bowser have his terrible godzilla voice?

Sorry to disappoint but just like DK, Bowser's awesome feral roars return as well. I'm glad they retain their animalistic noises instead of some lame cartoony voices. Are you sure? Bowser gets an actual voice but DK still keeps those horrible grunts?
In it's defense http://youtu.be/yAfA_hwLIUg?t=4m31s would probably be the best taunt or win screen animation ever. "Oh yeah... Oh yeah..." The rest of that was pretty terrible though.I love Bowser's "Godzilla" roars. I want to play someone fierce and intimidating, not... This

But that's downgrading a character to just a simple, mindless beast. DK and Bowser are much more than that.Sorry to disappoint but just like DK, Bowser's awesome feral roars return as well. I'm glad they retain their animalistic noises instead of some lame cartoony voices.
This. Bowser has never been as much of a character as he is in the modern games. In the old games he's basically a generic monster. Ugghhh...But that's downgrading a character to just a simple, mindless beast. DK and Bowser are much more than that.

No, they represent the kind of creature they are, I don't see how that is "downgrading the character". And can you please elaborate on how much more they are than that and on how giving them their cartoonish voices will do them any "favors"; people say that often but the meaning it's usually left ambiguous to me.But that's downgrading a character to just a simple, mindless beast. Of course. Ha ha. Probably my favorite Bowser voice. It's amazing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmO0ma9uJpE < THIS is Bowser
(Also, sorry for the double post. Didn't mean to do that.)
That's the same voice he has in every modern Mario game.I agree, AlphaDream's interpretation of Bowser is pretty awesome
I don't know what you mean by "original character" but if you're referring to NES/SNES era Bowser, he was much closer to the modern "cartoony" Bowser you dislike so much than he was to the N64 era Bowser. I mean, just think of what game series he's from for a second... he's from Mario, if he's not a cartoony villain then there's something wrong there.but that deviates from his original character too.
By that logic Yoshi should get dinosaur noises instead of the high-pitched voice he has now. And hey, why don't we just get some random guy off the street to record the voice clips for Mario instead of the actual voice actor! No, they represent the kind of creature they are, I don't see how that is "downgrading the character".
That's an easy one, Yoshi is not supposed to be a ferocious dinosaur but rather a cute one; unlike Bowser or DK whose animalistic noises make them sound badass, giving Yoshi a raptor cry would be detrimental to it's character.By that logic Yoshi should get dinosaur noises instead of the high-pitched voice he has now. And hey, why don't we just get some random guy off the street to record the voice clips for Mario instead of the actual voice actor!
And yet they still manage to.I'm pretty sure a tie wearing ape with a pompadour and a saturday cartoon turtle/dragon hybrid villain aren't supposed to be badass.

Bowser has significantly more reverb and editing in his voice in Bowser's Inside Story to make him sound more awesome. That's the same voice he has in every modern Mario game.
He was originally voiced as a monster. In Smash he was designed with this in mind, and I like it.I don't know what you mean by "original character"
By originally voiced, do you mean his voice in Mario 64 and the early Mario Parties? because Smash Bowser, if wanting to represent Bowser well, should be voiced like he is there or how modern, silly Bowser is interpreted because now he sounds like a mini Godzilla clone rather than having those famous roars in 64 :/ at least in my opinionBowser has significantly more reverb and editing in his voice in Bowser's Inside Story to make him sound more awesome.

Please. If you don't like it, it's ok. But don't try to sell me the idea that it's "out of character", because that's just the interpretation that you want to make out of him. It's ok for him to remain that way in the Smash series while retaining his other voice in his source material. So don't tell me that they "half-arsed him" by retaining his current sounds, because Bowser sounding like a beast, especially in the midst of battle where instinct kicks in, is totally natural and expected since it reflects the kind of creature that he is.Bowser's look has been modernised, so therefore his voice should be modernised in my opinion. The Godzilla sounds from Brawl were terrible, and completely out of character for the Bowser of now.
However, given his Final Smash hasn't changed, I think we're going to be stuck with it. I just think it's a shame that they went through all the trouble of updating him and doing a half-arsed job of it by leaving his voice like Godzilla. This goes for Donkey Kong as well.
