Oh geez dont pull that crap. Doesnt mean we have to want those voices to persist forever. It would be like saying we arent fans if we dont want yoshi to only have super mario world noises coming out of him instead of his established voice we have now.

Im a fan of all these characters, and bowser most of all. Id like it for them to at least convey some sort of feeling within this game through their voices especially the ones we are most familiar with as of now (pits getting his new voice so why not?). The monster sfx are limited to a degree, they can only do so much.
I never said they had to persist forever, I'm just saying that they're part of what made dk and the rest of his buddies so famous and recognizable in the first place and really, dk and diddy ARE apes, it only makes sense for them to sound like some, however I'm good with their other voices from the n64 days as well. The fact that people disrespect these characters original traits but like how they are now and then call themselves real fans is totally contradicting to me which is what I hate is all I'm saying.

What's all this "true fan" nonsense that keeps being spouted anyway? It all comes down to "anyone who doesn't agree with me isn't a true fan!" sort of things.

Anyway to get back on topic, I'm cool with either voice for Bowser just as long as he's still as powerful like he has been in previous ssb games.

People like to have a false sense of superiority over the other people that have the same interests as them, happens all the time.
...Yeah that sounds kinda harsh, but it's the best explanation I can really come up with that makes the most sense. But aside from that true fans of something don't exist, sure, there's people who might be a bigger fan of something than others, but if you're a fan of something, you're a fan, simple as that. Trying to claim you're a 'true' fan makes you just look silly.

On topic I would be all for Kenny James Bowser. That is if Bowser even has a voice, we haven't heard him utter a peep in all of the gameplay we have of him.

What if they gave him his BiS voice with Godzilla sounds in the echo.

If I end up playing Smash 4 competitively and Bowser has his Sunshine voice during attacks, no matter what character I pick the matchup will be 0 - 100. It was as hilariously out of place for me then, as it is now. And I will laugh errtim I hear it.

I just can't imagine Bowser in his modern design to have the godzilla voice. Plus the godzilla voice were awful and monotonous, same for DK's lion ape stuff he got there. Diddy's fine, but good god fix DK and Bowser.

Besides Kenny James does very good work, would be great if he's on this.

Are you sure? Bowser gets an actual voice but DK still keeps those horrible grunts?

Sorry to disappoint but just like DK, Bowser's awesome feral roars return as well. I'm glad they retain their animalistic noises instead of some lame cartoony voices. :awesome:

But that's downgrading a character to just a simple, mindless beast. DK and Bowser are much more than that.

I agree, AlphaDream's interpretation of Bowser is pretty awesome, but that deviates from his original character too.

Bowser is a smart character but this roar will always be his epic voice to me. That's the Bowser I want to play as more than all these cheesy today voices of his (with the exception of Bowser's Inside Story of course).

No, they represent the kind of creature they are, I don't see how that is "downgrading the character". And can you please elaborate on how much more they are than that and on how giving them their cartoonish voices will do them any "favors"; people say that often but the meaning it's usually left ambiguous to me.
Anyways, what's done it's done. Those noises are staying.

You know, thinking about it, we're all throwing in feedback for the game and all, but we should totally toss in feedback for Bowser's voice. Giving him Kenny James' voice would be perfect and would fit into this playstyle of the character that we see from him now. Doubt we'll get it now, but hopefully they give Bowser some more finishing touches.

I'd love for them to take further tribute from the Mario & Luigi series. Replace the random hopping taunt with him beating his chest and shouting, "I RULE!!"

He's still awesome, but hey. A guy can dream. Or petition for a patch that gives you an option for his Mario series voice.

I don't know what you mean by "original character" but if you're referring to NES/SNES era Bowser, he was much closer to the modern "cartoony" Bowser you dislike so much than he was to the N64 era Bowser. I mean, just think of what game series he's from for a second... he's from Mario, if he's not a cartoony villain then there's something wrong there.

During the N64 era he unfortunately lost all character he had and got a generic, beastly voice to match. Modern Bowser (Galaxy, NSMB, Bowser's Inside Story) was the first time Bowser actually felt like a worthy nemesis to Mario in a while. He's not exactly super intelligent, but he actually feels like an actual thinking character and not just a mindless monster, and the voice Kenny James gives him fits sooo well.

Do people think that Bowser still has his terrible Sunshine voice or something? Haven't you played any of the newer Mario games? His current voice is great. It sounds intimidating and badass without sounding like a generic movie monster.
No, they represent the kind of creature they are, I don't see how that is "downgrading the character".
By that logic Yoshi should get dinosaur noises instead of the high-pitched voice he has now. And hey, why don't we just get some random guy off the street to record the voice clips for Mario instead of the actual voice actor!

That's an easy one, Yoshi is not supposed to be a ferocious dinosaur but rather a cute one; unlike Bowser or DK whose animalistic noises make them sound badass, giving Yoshi a raptor cry would be detrimental to it's character.

I'm pretty sure a tie wearing ape with a pompadour and a saturday cartoon turtle/dragon hybrid villain aren't supposed to be badass.

I do recall bowser smiling and jumping up and down for joy in the mario party for n64 and gamecube games when he did have his cool monster roar, that's plenty of character for me. Not to mention his classic deep evil laugh.

Bowser has significantly more reverb and editing in his voice in Bowser's Inside Story to make him sound more awesome.

He was originally voiced as a monster. In Smash he was designed with this in mind, and I like it.

By originally voiced, do you mean his voice in Mario 64 and the early Mario Parties? because Smash Bowser, if wanting to represent Bowser well, should be voiced like he is there or how modern, silly Bowser is interpreted because now he sounds like a mini Godzilla clone rather than having those famous roars in 64 :/ at least in my opinion

I honestly don't mind having Bowser roar either. If it was his 64 roar.

I hate his voice in Brawl.

Bowser's beastly roar in Inside Story is cool as well, I just happen to like more the noises he makes in the Smash series.

We should trade Bowser and Peach's voice.

More suiting. Especially in Melee standards.

We finaly have a Bowser design that looks more like the actual Bowser, we need his usual voice. The best Bowser is the Mar&Luigi series Bowser. To funny

I don't understand why people think that Bowser's posture has anything to do with the way he "should" sound.
Might be because of that time in the forest, when a bear came running and growling at me. When it finally arrived at the place I was, it stood in it's hind-legs to look bigger and menacing, however it's threatening growls suddenly shifted to an exquisite british voice. We spent the rest of the afternoon having a pleasant chat discussing the conundrums of life.
Yep, an animal standing in it's hind-legs changes the way it sounds apparently.

Bowser's look has been modernised, so therefore his voice should be modernised in my opinion. The Godzilla sounds from Brawl were terrible, and completely out of character for the Bowser of now.

However, given his Final Smash hasn't changed, I think we're going to be stuck with it. I just think it's a shame that they went through all the trouble of updating him and doing a half-arsed job of it by leaving his voice like Godzilla. This goes for Donkey Kong as well.

Please. If you don't like it, it's ok. But don't try to sell me the idea that it's "out of character", because that's just the interpretation that you want to make out of him. It's ok for him to remain that way in the Smash series while retaining his other voice in his source material. So don't tell me that they "half-arsed him" by retaining his current sounds, because Bowser sounding like a beast, especially in the midst of battle where instinct kicks in, is totally natural and expected since it reflects the kind of creature that he is.
Honestly, this is the only place where I've seen people argue that is not ok for a monster to sound like a monster, because "logic", right?
