Yes you did :D sorry I wanted to get around to shoutouts but there are so many people this game and I'm so lazy lol.

As Jdioh you did the best you could with replacing into an awkward situation. J had a lot of connections to EBR, and that was something that J didn't get to explain and you had no way to adequately explain and it left a huge question mark over your head for town. After your lynch and subsequent replacement into Ran's spot you seemed to find your focus and you were able to play independently, whereas with Jdioh you were very much confined to the previous actions of your slot and taking accountability for those actions. One thing that I really like about your play and that made me very, very glad that you were alive through the end of the game is that you are willing to take in information and re-evaluate your reads when new information arose, which we definitely needed. You also handled the JTB case extremely well, and you recognized that his case was wrong, but that his intent was right and thus you read him correctly as town, which is quite hard to do and to maintain that composure while so close to endgame. The only thing is that while I know you were bored and wanted the Shadow Moth hammer done quickly, it was important to see a response from Shadow and X1 before the Day ended in case Shadow Moth was not the last mafioso. Good game and it was fun playing with you and lynching 3 scummies in a row :D

Actually, I would like to know how Shadow Moth felt about being yakked and whether or not he liked the change of alignment.
I enjoyed it. It was a nice spin on the game that was otherwise starting to get tedious. I dunno how I would've continued playing that game if I wasn't scum.
That must've been so dull for town.

I'm a little salty that I was essentially killed on night actions. No one even had a legit case against me on the last day based on my play. But that's how the cookie crumbles.

Well played, July. Once you lynched Tandora it kinda went downhill. I knew Vult was gonna get lynched so I tried to take the initiative on that for town points but no dice.

Tandora getting caught by night actions (as we knew them) was really lucky. If RR hadn't transformed into Gheb, I wouldn't have gotten a result back so I wouldn't have thought I was redirected to July who jailed Gheb, meaning I wouldn't have had any reason to doubt Tandora's claim when she said she targeted July that same night.

THere was nothing you could do. You essentially were drawn from POE. July had some town reads that she was pretty sure of, and would only need to check off the others. It's easier to sift through when their is less people.

Edit:

Also take into account there was no kill. July targetted you, so it was either you were scum or you were the kill target. You didn't have much wiggle room, and this is something you can't control after wards. This is something you have to avoid before hand. (as in earlier in the game, look town so that you don't become a suspect for a PR)

Did I already ask why nobody killed July? Did someone already answer?

Because her reads were CONSTANTLY in line with exactly what we needed? Because once it got to the point it would be convenient to dispose of her, Gova had to be killed first. Not my fault all of the least threatening players drew PRs.

Nabe, I am single.

Did I mention how PISSED I am that I didn't guess the flavor, considering how I love Harry Potter and all? Granted, I don't know **** about actors, and I prefer the books over the movies, but still.
I would have guessed it right away, had I known we were attempting to guess something movie/book related, rather than some vague crap I was trying to be deep about, thus the PMs asking you about stuff

Can't breathe, but the view is equal to the taste
The first two movies tried to cover everything and were too long as a result, but I certainly appreciate seeing the books in almost-fullness on screen, and the intent to translate them perfectly to film. But film is a vastly different medium -- they should've saved perfect adaptations for a BBC miniseries.

Azkaban is the first one that's enjoyable to watch as a film, and many peoples' favourite. It adapts the book without taking absolutely everything, and succeeds at cinematography. The previous two movies were dry, cinematically, and its memorable shots focus on set pieces (the flying motorcycle, the castle, the Great Hall etc.) rather than the characters. Azkaban is entirely character-driven, despite the introduction of a lot of new scenery around Hogwarts, and that's why it's successful.

Goblet of Fire is great fun, and definitely makes the best drinking game of the lot.

Order of the Phoenix is entertaining, but a bit dull upon rewatch.

Half-Blood Prince is fantastic (my favourite) and adapts the style (and still a lot of the content) of the book to the film world. It also builds on the wizarding world with a lot of small magic, taking place behind shots and all around. And it's both hilarious and emotional.

Seven was obviously good, although it also exhibits some of the larger concessions of book integrity exchanged for movie coherence.

This is now Harry Potter General fyi.

Oh, and it's very easy to construct a drinking game. Depending on how ambitious you are:
  • Any time someone says Harry
  • Any time someone says Potter
  • Any time someone says Hogwarts
  • Any time someone says Magic
  • Any time someone says Wizard or Witch ("Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" becomes an immensely powerful line)
  • Any time you see magic taking place on screen, or a magical item that doesn't exist in reality, or something that couldn't have been made without magic
  • Any time someone uses a spell that doesn't do what it should (i.e. Expelliarmus shooting people across the room and knocking them out, wand still firmly in hand)
  • Any time the writers made up a spell (drink double if they made up a spell when another spell that did the same thing already exists in the books)
  • Any time Dumbledore (or anyone) does magic with their hands
  • Any time Dumbledore does magic purely for the sake of being cool
  • Any time Dumbledore acts like something is really amazing to him when it's actually mundane to him (like being in awe of the Goblet of Fire because it's a cup on fire I mean how cool is that)
  • Any time a character uses a catchphrase ("Shouldn'ta told you that", Hagrid) or any time a character utters a famous or hilarious line ("You're a wizard, Harry, and a thumpin' good un I'd wager", again Hagrid)
  • You should really just drink any time Hagrid shows up
  • Any time Daniel Radcliffe acts poorly (Azkaban is particularly good for this)
  • Any time Alan Rickman refuses to show emotion
  • Any time Snape flirts with a character (up to viewer interpretation / how drunk you already are)
  • Any time you laugh at something that's not intended to be funny (any character dying; lines such as "No, he killed Edward Cullen!" or "Oh no, she killed Gollum" are encouraged)

The Harry Potter movies will never seem boring again.

haha, i don't remember anything specific, but i vaguely remember the fact that the third film is the first one with a different director, and unless i'm mistaken, got mostly bad reviews compared to the first two?

man, i remember seeing the first movie with my friend in middle school. time sure has passed :\

Psh, you would quote me while I was still editing.

Azkaban was widely renowned as the best of the lot, for a long time. Good reviews all-round.

Alan Rickman is Snape.

Gollum is Dobby! You might also call him Pikachu, or if you really want to extend the Pokemon analogy, Butterfree for that famous tearjerker.

A tip for drinking games in general: get a small whiteboard and write the rules on the board. Computers get wet, and paper inevitably gets used as a coaster. The bright markers will help the rules stand out when your eyes and mind start to waver.

Aha that drinking game looks fun. Nabe/asdioh can't we have a threesome and play this game together :'(

I remember hating the first 4 or so movies, especially the third one as it felt so different to the book. 6 and 7 were all amazing though.

Nabe, I can't have you flirting with every Swiss, Kuz and Harry who talks about kissing in your thread if you expect us to engage in any hardcore wizard ****ing. I'm a one man man, and I expect my one man to be a one man man as well, man.

Also, I mostly agree with your assessment of the movies.

This might mean we can't be friends, idk.
"Hate" is probably poor word usage on my part. I remember not liking the 1st 4 or so movies because they took my childhood imagination and made it all weird. I think I thought they were good, except they sort of ruined it for when I read the books again... if that makes sense??

The last 4 movies were all amazing though, which is why watching the first 4 again could be amazing considering I've probably lost my childhood imagination by now, and especially if the aforementioned game is involved.

Considering timezones... 9pm EST is like 11-12pm over here... I guess that's actually doable.

For sure, I think my skype is jvanderzant. Or j.vanderzant.

I've only played drinking games involving cards. Oh and when they had the 9/11 tribute, I played a game where you have to drink every time you see an american flag :troll:

But yes, even just watching the movies again would be fun.
