Hackfest 2.0 @ JCaesar's Farm, 6/28/09, Brawl+ tourney after the Dojo!

Welcome to Hackfest 2.0! The first one was just a smashfest, but this one will be a tournament. It will be on Sunday, the day after Chu's Dojo, but people are welcome to come over Saturday night after the Dojo and smash/crash here.

Electricity fee: $2, free if you bring a TV or hacked Wii.
Singles: $5
Teams: $10 per team
Payouts will be 60-30-10 for both events.
Possibly crew battles for fun if time permits.

Rules:

It will be all the standard stuff, and I'll use a conservative stage list since that's what people seem to prefer. Infinites are allowed and encouraged. If you can find an exploit like that, we want to know about it, so we can fix it, because I think everyone can agree that infinites are ****ing stupid in a game like this.

It's about 30 minutes from Baltimore. It's literally a big farm with a barn and silo and some other buildings. There is plenty of parking. You can also crash here on Saturday night (bring a sleeping bag though). If you need help finding it, you can call my cell, 443-536-1386. If you don't have your own transportation, the Owings Mills metro station is only about 20 minutes away, and someone should be able to pick you up from there.

Time:

This tourney is on Sunday, the day after Chu's Dojo.

12pm-3pm: Teams
3pm-8pm: Singles
If time permits: Crews

You may come over Saturday night but the tourney will be on Sunday. You must be out of here by 9pm on Sunday (I may be able to give a select few people a ride to the Greenbelt Metro Station on Monday morning, talk to me via AIM or PM if interested).

What to Bring:

I have 3 TVs of my own, but more would be helpful if a lot of people come. So bring Wiis, TVs, and SD cards (no bigger than 2 GBs). If you don't have one, there are stores nearby that sell them. I can help you hack your Wii if it isn't already. Also, bring a sleeping bag if you want to sleep here Saturday night.

Food:

There are lots of places to eat nearby.

We have Five Guys, Denny's, Applebees, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Burger King, Roy Rogers, Arby's, KFC, Wendy's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Salsarita's, Chick-Fil-A, and Friendly's all real close to JCaesar's house, so we can go chill out afterwards.

Fun stuff on the side:

Possibility of a BB gun tourney or some football or whiffle ball.

Maybe try to come up with a new slogan for Brawl+ too. The current one kinda sucks and the best alternative we've come up with so far is "Brawl+: Inui doesn't play it!"

this time im coming.wolf is broken in brawl+ and he handles like brawl.i mean side b thru stage goes thru every stage because no auto edge grabbing(except fd cause fd sucks balls).stage scarring to the max.tho bowser is too different for me to use him.

I've been playing Brawl+ frequently . And yeah I'm down for this event. We need to Brawl+ some time though, I feel like I'm getting worse :s.

We should just go all out with the hackfest deal, so Tant, bring your DS + Action Replay and I'll bring mine. I bought an Action Replay recently but I can't add any codes to it, and I still need to get the Shaymin item.

You can infinite hop around in Brawl+ too... just set your buffer to 100% (10 frames the default) or 50% (5 frames). 5 frames is about the minimum you need to hop around with Bowser's klaw.

i know i can still infinite hop.just the fall speed is different and the timing.makes hopping more difficult.

Textures are fine. We'll probably use the official 4.1B set. I don't wanna use one of the latest nightly build sets because it's got that annoying idle animation glitch -_-
