i'm really gonna try and end this early but ultimately it's up to both me and all of you guys. make sure you arrive on time and things will start well. once we start i promise to have this **** ran fast and efficient.
i have the venue from like 9am-9pm, and I will be there at 9am on the dot. it starts at noon and this is like STRICT. i am starting at noon and if you aren't there to sign up for teams at least a half hour before that you NEED TO CALL ME. if you don't you will not be in the teams bracket. EVEN IF you are, you will just be thrown it and I will not care who you play at all.

My boi said that when he gets off he wants to go anyway just for friendlies and such Because of all the good players. If we go it'll be like close to 2 or 3 hours before 9....so will anybody still be playing then and will I still have to pay? Could I join in on a crew battle?

Yeah a crew battle would be pretty exciting, from the looks of things it seems GOTM will finish the tourney before 9. If I am there I'll be happy to play you Spam arrows.

Unfortunately, I'm going to a wedding. Me and my band (Sexual Chocolate) will be performing Whitney Houston's greatest hits from the pipe. So, I will not be in attendance.

You don't have to pay for anything besides singles or doubles. The venue is free, I am not charging people if they just come and play friendlies, that would be a **** move. On the other hand, showing up around 6 o'clock or whatever might be a waste, unless you REALLY want to play people that badly. I am definitely going to try and be out of here by 9 so like, it's really up to you I guess.
Draft crews I plan on starting on schedule (most likely earlier). The only thing I plan on starting exactly when it says is doubles, but since I plan on running everything so fast, every other event should start earlier than stated. If you are there around 6 o'clock you will most likely make it in time for draft crews, and those are free, so yes you would be able to play in them.
Yes, the tournament should be done before 9, but I am not making any promises.

I don't know if anyone knows this, but GOTM isn't a tourney hoster, yet from his posts, you can definitely tell he has the knowledge and the right attitude of an experienced one. This alone should attract people. Kudos

TECHNICALLY no. Here's the deal. I am running this fast, very fast, or at least I am going to try to. If like 9 o'clock comes around, and the tournament has been over for like an hour, I am asking people to leave, as there are going to be a crap load of friendlies in the morning and since we are probably going to have a decent amount of TV's, a lot of friendlies towards the final rounds of each tournament.When do we have to pack up and leave? If say draft crews ends right around where it is stated to, so like 9 or 10 o'clock, then that's right around when we REALLY need to be out of there anyway, so you guys have to go.
I am not going to force anyone out or kick anyone out like as soon as the clock strikes 9, but I am going to give everyone a heads up that we need to start packing things up, as I will probably take my TV out and start getting things like trash and stuff knocked out of the way because these are really nice people we are working with and I want this thing cleaned up and ran smoothly for the next time. Correction, for there to be a next time.
But we definitely cannot stay longer than 10, nor do I think there will be a need to.
Emu: Yeah this is my first tourney that I am hosting alone. I have however co-hosted many events, including the one I am most proud of, COT1, which ran in the back corner of a game shop, with like 5 TV's and finished on time.

Not that I'm a momma's boy but my mom is Cool for 3 reasons. 1) at age (47) Plays and Watches SSBM matches now. 2) has stated openly that Brawl sucks compared to Melee and 3) Drinks DJ's religiously...No Bull****. I know it really is a **** move but I have no other way to the tourney so at this point I'll take what I can get. For at least another 2 or 3 Months I don't think I'll get the chance to play some of the kinda Opposition that will be there this Saturday. I mean if you stop and think about it a handful of some of the best players in the known Universe will be there. The way I see it even if they **** me up at least I'll learn get to see great game play firsthand. Maybe It'll rub off on me

Yea don't make it out to be like he isn't new to tourney hosting. He co-hosted CoT1-4 with me, along with help at some other things here and there.
And this is Melee. Melee is about 200x easier to run than a Brawl tourney lol.

Yeah I think traffic is going to be a little more ******** for me on my way home tonight =/ Saturday early in the morning shouldn't be TOO bad, but I would still leave earlier than a lot of you were probably planning.

Yes, everyone leave early.
Both time I held a SatS (and it's a similar drive for people, having to take the expressway, though this also requires the parkway), I had to delay the tourney because so many people were stuck in traffic.

my TVs have become unavailable for this. My small TV is being repaired right now and my large TV requires a car spot, which is not available due to picking up tec0.
