Gimp on MK...Does anyone know?

I'm not sure if you all know about this but Luigi has a gimp on MK...

If you Utilt MK's shuttle loop at the right time you can UpB him right afterwards with no lag...

You have to cross hits with his Shuttle loop btw...Vids will be up soon



I know I main Mario but I also play Luigi (Boss recommended me to for some odd reason)

As opposed to knocking him out with a fresh nair? This seems less practical.

It's a situational Gimp..I call it a gimp due to the fact it's unavoidable...

It will either be a kill move or a damage racker...

VERY situational, there's too many things that inhibit its use
-Both player's damage %s
-Both player's DI (could be accidental)
-Need to predict the shuttle loop AND trade hits
-Freshness of each move

Plus, how do you even get U-tilt to trade hits with Shuttle loop >_> I don't think I could do that even if I tried.
And a gimp is when you prevent your opponent from returning to the stage, not something that's unavoidable.

Metaknight's glide attack clanks with all other hitboxes. If you have good enough timing, yeah. I guess you could U-tilt -> Up-B his glide attack.

Clever.

Wait, he is talking about the glide attack out of the shuttle loop? Or the initial shuttle loop? If he is talking about the glide attack, why bother utilting when you can just shield > OOS UpB? That's more reliable.

I thought he was talking about utilting the initial attack o_O

Shielding it pushes you back...If You UTilt, you wont move anywhere allowing you just UpB in place

Depends where he hits with the shield, governs your distance. Since he'll probably hit with the tip of the sword, I'll give the benefit of the doubt that you won't be able to UpB him. Although you can powershield and take a step behind you and catch him when he lands, but that's prone to fail as he'll just defend himself with zero landing lag.

I'll try doing this tomorrow, but I'm curious to see the video, because I can't quite picture the situation.

I'm not sure which one your talking about, the glide attack where you jump then still have your other jumps OR shuttle loop with the huge knockback and invicbility frames in the beggining OR the glide attack itself from the shuttle loop.

I know that shuttle loop the glide attack itself actually has low priority for some reason since it clanks with alot of doopy attacks for some reason. But since it pops out so fast, that's why it's hard to punish. But really, powershielding IMO the shuttle loop isn't hard which lands to a free upb.




Luigi's utilt properities are weird sometimes. It can clank with marth's fsmash lol. But meh I guess utilt works too no? >.> but ru talkng about utilt clanking the attack and then once he lands, you upb him? o.O

He's talking about the glide attack you up-tilt to cancel the glide attack then up-b afterwards.

The good thing is if he doesn't attack he gets up-tilted

If you shield you get pushed back.
(Pefect Shielding isn't a viable thing to just mention because lets face it there's no one who will power shield his glide attack EVERYTIME so this is also a much safer option)

Btw if you shield and he doesn't attack..your probably gonna get grab'd so your best bet would be to up-tilt.


P.S.

I don't think you guys have seen his luigi before. He plays just as well as Boss. I play them both.

this feels like if you do it right you get a kill, but if you mess up even the slightest, you will end up ethier witha shuttle lope in the face, or upside down because of a missed up B. So I think shielding would work better, besides wont laggy wifi ruin your chance of acomplishing this
