Ghost Characters?

As far as I could tell, there weren't any threads with this idea in it, but if there is, my bad. Anyway, on to my fantabulous idea. Now in free for all battles, don't you just hate it when your the first one to lose all of your lives. Say its a five stock match with three other of your best buds, but somehow, you lose all your lives when everyone else is on their fourth stock. And now you have to wait until the match is won, and that's going to be a long wait. So what if, after you've lost all your lives, you can respawn as a "ghost character." This ghost character can still linger around the stage and such while your other buddies finish off the match. So no more bored waiting after you lose all your lives in a free for all. You can just respawn as a transparent version of your character and just screw around until the match is over. Granted you can do all things you could normally do, but your attacks will do nothing to anybody or anything. You're literally a ghost on the battlefield. So at least you have something to do while you wait. So what do yall think? Yes, no, maybe so.

Not bots. I know what you mean. Like in Mario Kart DS on battle mode, if you get all your balloons popped before the others, then you can drive around as a ghost and not hurt anybody ( though you can drop fake items every once in a while) I like the idea of this in brawl, would be quite fun to distract all the other players once you're dead. But if it was a tourney, I guess you would have to turn ghosts off as to detract from distraction. But yes, thumbs up to this idea.

Actually, those were real item boxes.

Anyway, I like this idea...and it would even let you reposition yourself before you pressed Start to steal a teammate's life.

That's an awesome idea. You can exact REVENGE on your foes for your early death by the nefarious use of SHENANIGANS. They'll be laughing themselves... to death! *evil laugh*

I like. ^^

I like this idea ONLY if the camera doesn't change just so it can fit in the ghost whos f'ing about on the far left of the stage while someone is tryna edge guard someone on the other side..that would get annoying.

i support it as long as you have to INITIATE the ghost spwning versus it always happening

and being able to choose whether you can still use items or not just for fun

Lol that's a good point about the camera, but if it were implemented into Brawl, I'm sure it would be perfect... I never played Mario Kart on battle mode, but the point is if it happened on one Nintendo game, there's a chance of it popping up on another. Sounds like good fun.:)

yea good point about the camera, also the option to turn off would make it much more acceptable.

If you are dying that fast, you should worry about your skillz not ghosts
not necessarily. some people, when they both have 1 life left, take FOREVER.
anthi9er thing: seeing as Mario KArt is being implemented into Brawl (the stage? hello?) thhis isn't out of possiblity's reach.

I hope they do put this into the game. If you dont like it, dont use it. Turn it off. It would be silly for them to not have an off option, as they know how many people would play competitively and how distracting it could be.

But for a bash with friends it could be hilarious. Just start doing random moves and f ollow people and jump around to put them off. And laugh. Cant wait.

This sounds OK, but you would make a bloody annoying distraction if you just followed the fighting players around, jumping and attacking at them. Maybe they could make it so your transparency is directly related to how close you are to another player. Basically meaning, the closer you get to another player, or he comes to you, the more transparent you become, until they are close enough that you can't see yourself and must move away. A ghost should also not make sounds when doing whatever- sounds could be very misleading for the fighting characters. Not a bad idea, though.

Great idea. Though it's a bit complicated for a feature that isnt essential to gameplay.

Maybe. I mean, I'd sure have a helluva lot more fun jumping around than I would watching the match, wait, I'm not sure about that actually. I think there is potential for a ghost idea so people who go out of matches early have something to do, but this one seems a tad bland, and maybe even a little pointless.

I think:

In teams, you should be able to take a stock from your partner when all of yours are out.

And,

In free for all, lets say you are the first one out, you have the choice to play as any other computer character who is in the match, when you have no more stocks.

^^(Or better yet, just pick ANY character, like at the bottom where it shows how much stock are left, there will be the characters and you get to choose ANY character in the game and play as them!)

 Hehehe...The idea is straight, I guess. But when the characters fall to their death or lose all their lives, I don't think they literally "die". But it's a cool idea. It sorta reminds me of multiplayer mode of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the GC.

was that game any good? never tried it for fear of it sucking
Yea, It's pretty good. The last boss is a B****! But if you've got friends with GBA's, GC's and the connectors to it, then you should play it. You'll spend more time leveling yourself up more than trying to beat it. :dizzy:

oh man, that idea is seriously kick-åss!

but, you'd have to change your appearance a lot. Even if you were transparent your friends in the heat of battle wouldn't necc. be able to tell the diff and that might f*ck up their game.

In order to make it work, I personally think like grey-scaling the character & making it see through & drapping it like in like a big black cloak and giving it the ability to fly around the screen and go through walls & **** would be AWESOME

Yea. It would be nice. But it would have to be a feature whether to turn on or off.

or better yet, if there are two ghosts dead from a 4 player game, maybe they would be able to fight each other? lol too good
