So I get in my practice with a friend who mains Falco. Falco's Lasers have just been frustrating me to no end as of late. Crouch -> Mortar Slide worked for awhile but now he sees it coming and whips out the reflector to stop me. Is there any other way around the laser?

Nah
Grenade + Shield Drop, crouch then time your throw works decently.

You can also just crouch up to them and try to shield -> Ftilt anything they do, but they can mixup with a grab so be careful.

Crawl up to him until Ftilt range. Either Ftilt or Shield. You outrange him terribly on the ground, so if you're at that range there's nothing he can do besides try to illusion past, and if you expect that, Utilt can hit him out of it fairly easily.

You can crawl and instantly dash attack->mortar slide, dash attack comes out so fast that he shouldn't be able to reflector you unless you telegraph it. Even if the Falco shield's it, it's very hard to shield grab Snake.

Also what Afro thunder said, timed grenades.

there is a simple way to do sth. against the projectiles, not only falcos laser ;)
use power shielding
if you shield at the correct time, the shield gets big, and block the attack, without getting smaller
now walk into the direction of your opponent and power shield all of his attacks (needs good timing, but you can learn it after a short time)

and dont run, just walk
if you run there is a dash animation at the start, where you cant shield
if you just walk you can shield to every time

Who says you have to approach? Just crouch and stay there haha. If you're winning by % he'll have to come at you eventually. And if you're not, I'm sure the falco will get bored before too long and come at you.

But I usually just crawl towards him and when I'm in the range of his reflector I get ready to shield and then ftilt him during his lag. Or you can dtilt him if he illusions towards you. Just learn to predict what falco can do at certain distances from you and prepare yourself accordingly.

Can you really crawl under his reflector?!? That would be sick. I've just always shielded it so I've never tried before.

Yeah, that's what I think would happen too. I figured there was a reason I picked up the habit of shielding right as I got in range of it haha. I'll test it out right now.

@ 1:32 he does indeed. The falco does it twice in a row even...huh...I coulda sworn I've been hit crawling before but perhaps I was at that instant about to get up.

Hitbox is small, Snakes tend to make the mistake of stopping the crouch as soon as they see the shine.

This is why dtilt is useful.

Oh yeah, I tried this out a couple of days ago, and you can indeed crawl under the shine. I tried every spacing it doesn't matter what distince you are away from falco it will never hit you if you're crawling.

just crouch and wait it out...

EDIT: until he starts doing SHDL... which i think can sometimes hit you, depending on his timing (not sure about this tho)

EDIT (again): or just keep jumping around on platforms, giving him a hard time aiming, until you can get close enough to him

Crawling does work. You can crawl under the reflector.

Be wary though, no smart Falco is going to keep lasering if you approach while crouching. They'll stop and mix it up with SH bair, dair, or airdodge (since SHL is only telegraphed when Falco is near the ground and you have no way of knowing what he will do).

if falco short hops and shines when he is coming down the shine will travel diagonally and i believe it will hit you, even if youre crouched , this is probably what happened to some of you snake mains.
