Under Ur Bed, STOP Farting!!!
At this month's tournament, we will be giving away some T-Shirts and Water Bottles from Shock H2O (Caffinated Water). There will be a "Shock Girl" at the tournament giving out samples as well (Melisa is her name and she's hot).

and yet he hasn't gone to any real tourneys or made any attempt to get better, as well as refusing any attempt by the community to help.

Regardless of what you say, people -can- start off by playing wifi (biglou did for brawl, so did Ally and Atomsk iirc). They will have to make the move to offline eventually; why force it, the guy has said he will make the move to offline, he's just not ready yet.

he's said it himself, though: he has practically no community to speak of. you won't stay interested in a game if all you do is play faceless people online. AiB ladder is a joke, too. half the people are trolls and the other half don't give a ****. unless he takes the initiative to actually meet real humans he can talk to and meet he won't stay interested for very long. and once you lose interest in a game its pretty **** hard to pick it up again without friends to encourage you.

Reading all of this has made me realize something.

I was a fool not to actually get to know all the people here during the times I went to Waba.

@Everybody: Friendly me, this saturday, lets get it!

I'm just your problem~
"Not ready."

Based on his post, it doesn't even seem like he knows what "not ready" is. Either that, or he refuses to tell us for whatever reason.

It just seems odd to express interest (I mean, the guy put up legitimate effort to get to Waba numerous times) in attending tournaments, then all of a sudden turn around give a sketchy reason for not going, even though people are offering numerous good reasons TO get up and go.

In the end, it's his prerogative, I suppose, but he should present something more believable/reasonable. This is SWF, after all. We will call you out on ****.

2) Lucas, what makes you not ready exactly? You seem to be content with telling us you're not ready, however at the same time I don't think you even know what being -ready- is.

I'm not sure right now...

I'm not saying i want to be the world's greatest, but if i'm going to do any advancing from the worst here, i've got serious work to do. I'm taking back my online play so i can make something of myself there, and when i feel mentally and physically prepared for a real tournament, i'll go. Again, i'm just not ready to get offline yet, just not right now.
People have been saying some stuff here that might seem to come off mean to you, but in actuality they are really trying to help. When I first started playing brawl I did start off with wifi and I was ranked of of the top 36 on Gamebattles so I decided to go to my first tournament here in GA. I got WRECKED by people who didn't even make top 16. I got 0-2'd for my first couple tournaments I went to. But I stuck with it and started learning from my mistakes (what sleepyK was saying) I was motivated because of the friendly environment and secondly my most favorite game since I was a child. But mainly the people!

If you don't want to come and compete just come and hang out. Play some friendlies. You will have a great time. I promise!

no top ranking brawl player ever got to where they are by only playing wifi.
they went to tournaments and lost. they learned from their losses.
0-2 my first 3-4 tournaments i went to. Now I am a ranked player.
or he's a high schooler.
I'm still a highschooler :)

i'd rather not split up the important cords from the system (if i do wind up selling it to gamestop they need all of those). controller is fine, though.

1) What in the world does being a high schooler have to do with being a troll/idiot?
2) Lucas, what makes you not ready exactly? You seem to be content with telling us you're not ready, however at the same time I don't think you even know what being -ready- is.
3) I really think the only person who should talk to Lucas about tournaments is SleepyK and Biglou, preferrably SleepyK; it seems like the lot of you are adding insult to your lesson, and generally confusing him. Getting annoyed with his logic and trolling him is practically backtracking everything SleepyK is saying.
1)I didn't know i was an idiot. :(

2) Read this:
I don't want to go because i am not ready yet. If you don't know what i mean by that, i don't know what more to say. No it doesn't just mean i'm bad at this game, i could be having life issues, educational expectations not met, anything of the sort, i'm just not ready.

3) SleepyK just taught me something about myself that i never really thought about taking into consideration until now. I don't think it's resolvable without some sort of elaboration, but near everyone else (save for maybe Biglou) is kinda making me feel like a ******* loser, but telling me i should go at the same time.

Well, i'll say it again sir.

1) You can't be ready without going to a tournament.
2) Since you need to be "ready" to go to a tournament... i guess we'll never see you.

in response to your #2, i have this much to say.
No Johns. Money match?

I have like
very little understanding about the base mechanics. I know a lot of the concepts and guaranteed's from talking to Dazwa, but not how to execute them.

It would suit this situation so well...
If i do find it, i'll requote your message, and i'll post it.

*Sigh*
You can't be a hypocrite and tell me to read without even reading my posts. I stated that i do have life issues at the current time, of which, are holding me back from doing too much of anything, aside from Waba. I didn't say i don't want to attend, i said i'm not ready/not prepared to attend another event. I have the money, i have the ride, i'm just dealing with a lot of **** right now, and it really pesters me that most of you guys still don't get it.
When i find help and resolve my problems, i will most definitely attend to meet up with new faces in the GA community, Smash a bit, and get myself known to the GA scene.
Sorry if i came out a bit rash, but i'm really fed up with people on my case about me going, when they don't understand a single thing that goes on with me when i sign-off these forums.
That's all.

Just another day.
Trust me, if I wanted to make people feel like an ***, I would deliberately say so. W/e. Your choice is your choice. I say my **** blunt and straight forward, then move on.

If you had life issues, then you should've at least came and said it right from the beginning instead of hiding it for a little. When you say you'll stick to online, people won't be thinking life issues first hand.

W/e. It's your choice and whenever you come to a tourney when I'm there, we can have fun and shiz.

I'm done with this nonsense.

To be fair, you never elaborated on why you're not ready. You gave possibilities, but saying "I -might- have stuff going on at home" doesn't make any solid claims, when actually saying that was the case would probably garner you sympathy.

I'm not suggesting that we need to know everything going on in your life, but you're not gaining anything by saying, "I'm enthusiastic about going, but I'm not ready, and I'll just leave you to guess why that is."

saying that you're not ready doesn't instantly register with most people that "my life is ****ing hard right now".

just say that (well, not that exactly, but you get the point) instead of saying the same vague line over and over again. also, we can't really understand a single thing about your life when you don't even post that thats the issue. "i'm not ready" on a video game board usually translates to "i think i'm too bad at this game to show my face."

you can't really get exasperated at us when you didn't actual post anything related to what you meant. thats misdirection and only helps when you want to make people look dumb.

There will be lots of televisions for friendlies, and we usually have a Smashfest the night before. I'm sure you can get help there.

Cool :)
I'll try to find myself there early on, if i can. Are they hosting more than Brawl and Melee at the Waba?
And to everyone, sorry for sounding like an ***, i just found out what was going on (outside of the forums), and i got mad enough to get over it. So much trouble would have came, should i have stuck to some friends >.>
