WOW. I think this lady is ready to scrap over some brawl AND soulcalibur.

How can you hate a game with SO much cleavage?!
There are games with much, much nicer cleavage than the girls from Soulcalibur.
Sophitia's not bad, though.
III? Yes. II and IV? I think you're sadly mistaken.

IV I've not played extensively, but II was excellent.
I loved Soulcalibur II. I cannot stress enough how horrible Soulcalibur IV is.
None of you have any idea how excited I was for the evo 2009 SC finals to go off. Especially since marvel, blazblue, and super turbo were after them.
Those were the worst finals I've ever seen for any game, ever. Thank God that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was right after or else I would have died of AIDS.

DOA.
But we shouldn't really be playing games for cleavage anyways lol

I started at 3, and I was quite upset they removed the grieve edge :|

Tonight's matchup--Warriors vs. Warriors!

Seriously, NBA Jam's Warriors all day, son.

EDIT: I might pick the Knicks soon.

GET DUNKED ON BY PATRICK CHEWING

NBA Jam: Tournament Edition, by the way. SNES if anything.

Man. I love Sophitia. Talim is awesome too.

There are too many girls from SCIV that I'd date. And too many that I'd be afraid of.

I actually really like the characters in Soulcalibur IV. Hilde, especially, is very pretty. It's just that from a gameplay perspective, it's a freaking joke.

I don't know much about Soul Calibur
but you shouldn't be playing it for the women;

Nightmare is where it's at!

At Evo, the announcer treated the Hilde player like dirt. It was the most unsportsmanlike, disgusting thing I'd ever seen at a tournament. The Hilde player won a match and was met by the announcer with "Good job, now try the same thing with a character that requires skill, scrub!"
I wanted to bum rush the stage and hit him. You don't ***ing do that at a tournament.

I don't give a crap. Either act like adults about it or ban the character. Having an announcer call a semifinalist a "worthless scrub" and having the audience drown out the game with their collective booing is unacceptable. It's an announcer's job to maintain neutrality, not to scream "BOOOOO, CHEAP CHARACTER!" at a ****ING SEMIFINALIST IN AN INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT.
The Soulcalibur IV community will forever be listed in my books as the most childish, unsportsmanlike, despicable community in the history of competitive gaming, and I will, in the future, strongly encourage any tournament organizers I know to avoid that community and the game that they play at any cost.

Did they ban Meta Knight or something?
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=242903

Octix, play the ORIGINAL Nightmare moveset and use Siegfried.

Or just play Kilik and be cool.

I still want to cosplay Kilik one year at AWA
I want to cosplay as Sagat one day
What game is the original moveset in?
sounds pretty bad the way you put it

What are you talking about? I don't keep up with SC

How long do you guys think it'll be until the "Should Snake be banned?" threads pop up?

Hilde has a combo that can ring you out from anywhere in the stage.

Not too long if Ally keeps it up, and other Snake players begin to follow suit

o.o
Is it difficult to perform?

if you ban metaknight, it shows you don't want to work hard enough to find solutions to people's play styles.
imo when you ban something, it should be via data supported by statistics and analyzing what makes *insert w/e is up for ban* ban-worthy.

Following the status-quo of "you're just not trying hard enough" is old and really a bad response to an issue you might've cared for if you didn't play MK yourself/his even MUs/magical person that has no problems with whatever is banned.

Hilde is a broken char in SCIV, right? Last I heard, SCIV is dying in terms of popularity? If that's true, perhaps there's a reason to that?

SC is pretty traditional in regards to what people would consider "traditional." Unlike Smash which appeals to a niche group of people, many of which only play Smash, people can usually leave SC and pick up another fighter. Many fighting games pros play several games in tournament, because they all share structural similarities.

So really in fighting game circles, people choose and pick to play games they like/whatever brings in the money. They don't have to deal with SCIV if they don't want to, and unlike Smash, which has very few alternatives if you quit Barlw, they have a rather large library of good games to pick up over SCIV.

The communities and games are different and thus how each one handles its problems shouldn't be directly compared, when the issues themselves can be considered vastly different.

Although Barlw isn't even a good game anyways so it shouldn't matter rofl.

they've banned how many infinites and HOW MANY STAGES?
IIRC no infinites have been banned by the SBR. It's up to the TOs themselves.

As for stages, lmao Jamaal do u really want Dynomite to plank you on NOFAIR?

You two. Move to Midwest. Have fun~

let me roast this ***** real quick

In other fighting games the characters you main play so differently from one another (every frame counts with each character) you usually have to stick with that character and learn matchups, all matchups for the most part are winnable, it's a matter of

a) using their strength against them
b) minimizing their ability to overpower you with their said strength
c) making your strength seem overpowering

if dyno's going to plank me, and i main Falco, how hard is it to not get hit and shoot lasers? That's what i would have to do, i would have to play smart, there's no reason for it to be banned just because "man that ****'s too hard". You don't go

"man zangief is too hard for chun to beat in sfiv, so we're going to ban this matchup, it's not fair"

that's complete bull****, the matchup isn't unwinnable, so why ban it? MK shouldn't be banned, but right now it looks in MK being banned right now.

Now if you want to get technical about SBR not banning the infinites, why does EVERY tourney have these infinites (for the most part) out of their tourney? Don't be dumb and get grabbed, it sounds like it's too far fetched but that's what you're supposed to **** do, play smart and minimizing your chances of getting grabbed. When they get risky, punish.

To your hilde conversation, hilde broken because of her combo that pretty much is a automatic ring out. Now even with that, tell me why people were getting smoked at evo2k9 by a cassandra player, when the opponent was using hilde, these *****s got top 8 using a broke *** character and get ***** by someone who in comparison is no where near as good.

Why?

Because you can in fact learn the matchup and figure how to win.

Not everyone gives up on matchups and quit the game, that's just smash, the game is ****ing balanced for the most part in most fighting games, that's why it was in the evo startup line, you won't see x men vs street fighter in the evo startups because of that.

Oh and in your conversation about how Soul calibur players can go to other fighting games, no game's alike, everything has their different aspect, soul calibur has 3 competitive games, tekken has 2, that's fives games, how many does smash bros have? 3. How bad of a number is that in comparison?

And how can you generalize that every 3d fighter player can go to another 3d fighter and it'll be easy for them to learn it, that's not true in any aspect.

VietG i don't mind you saying brawl sucks. But know that brawl+ stemmed from brawl, it's just a morphed peice of ****. Nothing's changed, people can john about snake and mk being broken in both games, what, you going to ban them in that game too because it's too hard?
