Whoa. First, cool image of Geno! Love seeing Geno art.

Secondly, that quote. In 2015 they are talking about Geno? Maybe it is for the Mii Costume, but could it be more? Dude, I am hoping!

I apologize for my previous comments on Smashboards insulting Geno and his fans. I didn't get why people wanted him at first, but now I finally understand. Super Mario RPG was a fun game filled with lots of charm and memorable characters, and Geno was definitely the one who stood out. I first played the game on the Wii VC and liked it. SMRPG is the grandfather of Mario RPGs. Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi wouldn't exist without it. I would be happy with either Geno or Paper Mario getting in, or possibly even both, but I don't think that will happen.

Glad to hear you come around on our most wanted character! It is always nice to see people be open minded enough to actually change their mind. Really cool!

Good job! I might do the image, but I think I'll do a pretty poor job at it. Maybe someone else can help with that, but your evidence seems good. We can also mention that, legally speaking, Sakurai already has the right to use Geno's likeness, and I doubt he'd waste that opportunity.

It's been discussed before, but what would Geno's alts be? Would they just change his cloths or wood they change the wood as well? Would some of the alts be references to SMRPG character's?

I’d love if they did different woods of varying colors and legitimately changed the grains/patterns in the wood. With the quality bar they’ve set thus far, it feels they’d actually go that extra mile!

Geno is not someone I can consider a very good way to represent Square Enix. Cloud seems to be doing that just fine already.

Not just that, what I read one time about Smash's requirements for third party characters to be playable in Smash is that they be among the most iconic, memorable, and recognizable third party characters, which Geno fails all three of those descriptions miserably. They've stayed true to all that with the third party characters and DLC in Smash 4, so I highly doubt that will change anytime soon.

I'm sorry, I just don't see the point. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just don't think there's any chance he can make it.

Well now we've got Richter and only a small amount of people know who he is and he's nowhere near as popular as Simon or Geno. He was mainly just included to add more echoes and because simon uses some attacks that originated from his games so imo geno still has a chance.

My guess is people got super hyped at the idea of Geno in Smash 4 and were using that as sort of "evidence" so it was deleted.

We know Geno didn't get into Smash 4. But the mii costume did.

What if--and I'm in full conspiracy mode here--what if every series is intended to get one sample track, and they're holding back certain ones to coincide with newcomer reveals? Full newcomers, not echoes, I mean. It might be a stretch, but it is possible.

And guess what series suspiciously doesn't have a sample yet: that's right, Super Mario.

I find that odd. They started with the Smash theme, Zelda, and...Street Fighter? Why not just use a Mario remix? We already know there's at least one: the SMB3 Bowser battle theme, used in Bowser's info video. But they haven't uploaded that one, or any other Mario arrangement, this entire time.

Well, there's around 14 weeks until launch...As for series, I'm not quite sure. There's a bunch they haven't used yet, though, at least 10. And they could always put one or two in from a non-repped series (like the Snipperclips one) or a stage only series. They could also just break the rule and put two songs from the same series, but I don't think they'd do that, seeing as how they didn't with Brawl's sample tunes. Still, this part is pretty flexible.

What I'm most interested in is why they haven't done a Mario sample yet. I figure that should have been one of the first. It just sticks out to me.

Edit: went and counted, there are 42 series with symbols, including the stage only ones, and 10 series represented by the sample tracks. So with only 14 weeks, there definitely won't be a sample for each one. But as stated above, I still don't think think they'll do repeats for a series. And Super Mario is still absent...

Bayo and FF prob wouldnt get featured either, so that makes 15. Less series than weeks left, however they do also have unassociated songs like the Galaga Medley and the Snipperclips song.

Here's a question, who did you all vote for during the Smash ballot? It's okay if you did not vote for Geno or something like that. I didn't even vote for him, I voted for Shantae. Geno's situation was very different back then than it is now. It is just nice to know other peoples idea's and opinions, and how they could relate to other avenues of speculation.

Voted for Geno, Chrom, and King K. Rool early in the ballot, then added Zero later on. Also bought the Mii costumes of all of them. I have a feeling Mii costumes were like a test to see which ones sold the most.

I never thought about the Mii Costume that way. Now I REALLY hope it sold well, I want this good boy in after so long. I've been pretty nervous as of late, he has a really good shot, but at the same time I feel like he will not make it...
