Thank you!To all the wonderful ladies in here, happy international women's day.
One day before SMRPG's birthday (on the day in Japan), and this is when SSBU is revealed for the first time?happy international women's day and happy birthday to Smash Ultimate's reveal!
You know, something I just thought about. Sakurai wanted to add Geno in Brawl. That could have decided Mario's Final Smash. Also a funny thing I thought of, in SSE when you take control of either Link or Yoshi in the forest. What if it was supposed to be Link and Geno in Sakurai's original vision? I always remember that one scene being one of the weakest characters coming together moment. Link points the Master Sword to the Sky and Yoshi....just wakes up from a nap. This is all getting too exciting lol.
Also, I've been forgetting to say this, but Sakurai did find a way to reference SMRPG in Brawl. Imo it's not one of the most obvious references, but Mario's final smash was (and still is IIRC) actually based off of his fire ball move from SMRPG. Though it was called something different - Grand Finale - rather than what it was called in SMRPG
This is a really interesting theory...You know, something I just thought about. Sakurai wanted to add Geno in Brawl. That could have decided Mario's Final Smash. Thoughts?
I wonder what other characters he would've interacted with in Subspace besides Mario, Peach, Bowser and Link. This is a really interesting theory...
Now I imagine how Geno would've fit so perfectly in SSE...plot wise...battle wise...
He's not okay
Speaking of Vinny I was actually wondering if he could be someone we reach out to for Operation Starfall. He loves SMRPG and wouldn't mind Geno in Smash
Wait until 13thI guess Nintendo didn't make a tweet about SMRPG today kind of weird but okay.
Yeah I should before jumping to conclusions as they celebrated the American Release and not the Japan Release right? Maybe they're just doing that.Wait until 13th
I wouldn't lose my mind over it but I think it would be really cool. Obviously I can't see it happening but I'd be all for it. Not before Smash though. You know, how would you react if Geno appeared as a character in a Dissidia game?
I think...Just curious cuz I've never played SMRPG. What is Mallow's spirit battle supposed to be referencing?
I've watched Vinny for a long time, almost since the beginning of his streaming career. I'm not so sure if he would be open to that. I could try when we get the site set up and all, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't give it a plug. He's a very relaxed kind of guy and I don't see him going for campaigns like this.Speaking of Vinny I was actually wondering if he could be someone we reach out to for Operation Starfall. If Alpha Dream has been developing a new game for as long a time as I can surmise from evidence in the remakes, it's one of three things:Having beat Superstar Saga for the 2nd time today, I watched gameplay of the remake, and the improved graphics and sound quality were mouthwatering...
I couldn't help but imagine Super Mario RPG benefiting the same way. I'm sure it had to, at the very least, be thought of/considered for a remake when the SS remake was in development, if not already being developed
I've never looked at it from this perspective. I originally preferred for SMRPG to be remade first and then a sequel, but you convinced me that a sequel is by far the better option lol.If Alpha Dream has been developing a new game for as long a time as I can surmise from evidence in the remakes, it's one of three things:
1) M&L game that is in no way related to SMRPG and features little to no assets from it,
2) A huge, huge SMRPG remake, as given how long they've been at it, it wouldn't just be a bare minimum, upscaled port,
or 3) A SMRPG sequel.
I'd love the remake to BITS, and M&L games are cool, but option 3 is most favorable for me. SMRPG's ending is a send-off for Geno, whereas a sequel could be a welcoming back for him into the series. It could bring lore and development for his character that could expand on him or give him a reason to stick around more a la Rosalina. (Remember that her presence is only once every hundred years, yet they've found ways to incorporate her regardless.) I suppose a remake could do that, too, but only with like, a post-game side story or something.
I think part of Bowser's side special when he swipes his claw at you before doing the flying body slam is a reference to one of his attacks from SMRPG.SMRPG has also been referenced in Peach's move set, too. That's probably the heaviest SMRPG referencing we had until all of this stuff started happening, and it's only because that isn't anything copywritten by Square.
For a second I didn't know what you were talking about, and than I realized it's been a year since Ultimate was first announced along with the Inklings.happy first birthday of Super Smash Bros Ultimate!
"He's just never coming back in any form"Just watched this.
I wonder why his view of Geno is like it is. I know plenty of us have gone into mood's where we saw Geno that way, but he said it with such acceptance.
“In any form”"He's just never coming back in any form"
Inb4 he gets into Ultimate
Yeah, it's kinda a major thing to forget. He seems to like the character, it just appears that he is in a pessimistic state when it comes to his chances.“In any form”
He’s literally a spirit though. That’s technically a form so he’s already wrong lulz.
It seemed to me he gave up on Geno entirely when he replaced him with Joker as his #1Yeah, it's kinda a major thing to forget. He seems to like the character, it just appears that he is in a pessimistic state when it comes to his chances.
I do recall his mood relating to Geno durring that vid that had Joker being rather down. Wasn't he the guy that believed that Geno was about to appear when the Plant trailer was building up? What do you think changed? It seemed to me he gave up on Geno entirely when he replaced him with Joker as his #1
Probably the fact that Geno missed out on the base roster. It made a lot of people jump ship because they're thinking that Geno can't sell well enough on his own, so base roster included with the game was his only chance.I do recall his mood relating to Geno durring that vid that had Joker being rather down.
